I feel your pain everytime I have to make the decision as to which one I am going to 'release to the wild' this time.
While I am on it why doesnt that mean you really just released it into the world and you can still see it in its new environment.
Can you imagine turning any of your aggressive skinned tames loose in the middle of a city and watching how people react when they arent expecting a wild just released aggresive pet looking for something to kill

There was a time when "releasing your pet to the wild" did indeed involve the pet becoming a real live critter once again, which was, if young enough, retamable. In fact, some a$$hats DID release aggressive creatures (can you say rancor, boys and girls?) in the middle of a city just to see what would happen.
Which is why you can't do it anymore.

Two short things.
1) I am going to rework the Corral thread next week.
a) sign it
b) support it
c) help evolve it
2) I never got to release pets back to the wild
a) LOL releasing in a city is something I would do.
b) I do not see how that is any different than AT ST in a City.
c) would love it see it back. This game needs more player created chaos than dev created.
d) should have base 50% chance to turn on owner, +CL, -1 for each block of CH filled.

The classic lament of the CH. Need more space to house our little friends.

I hope this corral thing is being implemented before i drop CH after already waiting for 3 weeks now on those mysterious docs.
But i'll sign your thread of course P9M. At least i'll have the illusion that something might be done sometime.

Yes, I remember and no I did not release the rancor in the Coronet Starport. lol It was even worse when they were released in the Cantina. Oh, the carnage.... but I digress. The easy fix for this would be to just use the same code they use to call bikes and pets in reverse. You can release a pet anywhere that you would have to wait for the timer to call and not be able to release if you could call without the delay. This way the only places you could release would be in the wild or very near your own house. Just to be safe, you could make all released pets non-aggro like the babies are now.

I'd prefer if when you release a pet, it appears...walks away from you and just disappears...

I think a corral is probably quite a ways off (it will take some serious design time I think) but more space should be pretty simple to change if the Devs wanted to.
I think part of the problem we may see though with getting even a simple change like the number of stored pets changed is the combat rebalance. The combat rebalance is all about *balance* and I could see the Devs wanting to hold off with any changes that could be considered a balance issue until the combat rebalance is finished.

How could there be any imbalance to allow +20 to pet storage at MCH? With or without the combat revamp...

This isn't about "balance"... This is about database space. SOE even nerfed Artisans' vendors to free up space- do you really think they'd add more space for the profession they completely ignore, CH?

This is just speculative of course, but I have a feeling giving us more pet storage has nothing to do with database constraints. I suspect it is more a balance type of issue where the Devs felt we were being given an appropriate amount of pet storage that was in line with their "vision".
I see the what we need to do is challenge the "vision" and be able to back it up with concrete reasoning (just because we want more space isn't necessarily a good reason for giving it).

I seriously doubt the Artisan vendor nerf was in line with a balance "vision." Unless they were afraid of the vendors taking up arms with crafted flamethrowers and laser rifles and rebelling...?
