Thread: Question about aggro holding!
if your pets dont have the aggression ability they wont hold aggro - as u usually outdamage them easily.
No. I've had this issue for a while. I do not get the option to train a L2 ability, nor a level 3, without the pet first having level one.
It's been... Rather annoying, actually.

I think it's "working as intended" ... altho' you can learn the abilities in any order, you can not train a L2 ability to a pet without first training the L1 ability (or it already hasthe innateL1 ability). To train a pet in a L3 ability will thus take up 3 ability slots.
I have a lvl 70 mite with agression 2 and never loses aggro even If I spam specials.
With a petthat hasinnate Aggression L3 or one trained to Aggression L3 and letting the pet get the first hit in, I never take agro myself ... with the new abilities, pet "tanks" are definately back in the game!

Aggression (L3) is really the only way to go for a Creature Tank. I use a DC-15 rifle with the standard 'Ranged Shot' only (As I am a Master Artisan/Master Shipwright as well) and would pull aggro from my creatures every time, just by shooting.
If you just need a tank, then the defensive/health specials are also something to go for.
Just remember, even if you learn level 3 of an ability, you will need level1 and 2 to train it to another creature. This is one little thing that has me ticked right now, as I got self Sacrifice and Aggression, both level 3, and now I gotta go tame a bunch of lower level stuff to get the L1 and L2 versions, so I can teach 'em to the Rancor (When I can call it, stupid CH Necklace is still hiding)
And yes, I am taking up BH as a supplimental Combat skill.
If you don't really need a custom tank, then get the pet trained in the special attacks you don't have, IE Blind/dizzy/KD/hamstring/etc... It'll really make a difference.
