The method of going away from the GPS adult spawn and going back to it worked! It took me over 3 1/2 hours, but it worked. I would say this is the way to go until the static spawns are fixed or if you have a lot of time on your hands.
Edit: The ability it came with is Frenzied Blitz (L2)

Nice work!
Just got my character respecced and have 4414 CH. Do you need MCH to tame these?
I remember searching for them back when rare pets were introduced. I spent a good 10-15 hours scouring known WP's GPS's had been spotted and never even found an adult. You have me wanting to try again though, once I master I guess.

Don't need master to tame one as they are only a CL50 creature. So if my math is correct, you should eb able to tame one with your current CH template.

This method doesn't just work for static spawns, it will also work for things like bull rancors. Again you have to go far away enough for the bull rancor adult AND the lair to despawn before you return.
The method will not be as long as for a wild spawn without a lair but still it can be quite lengthy.

Yep I did the same thing last night only on Dantooine and for a Thune Grassland Guardian.
I found 4 spawns very close to each other and just kept driving back and forth getting each one to reset.
I must have tamed and released a dozen or more of these until I finally wound up with 2 babies that had seperate specials.
One had beastly Constitution L2 and I cannot recall the second ability
