I was looking for a baby Bull Rancor and thought to myself...what the hell I'll try it...
I had found 2 Rancor wild lairs...one with a single Bull Rancor spawn, a few regular Rancors, and a couple Rancor Youths....the other with just a few Rancors and a Rancor Youth....
Tried it on the first lair...went out 300m...went back...the lair didn't seem like it had reset...so I travelled out 550m...went back...it had reset...no baby bull..so I did it again...this timeit had a baby bull (on the lair that was spawning the bull rancor)...took me 20 or so tries to tame him but I got him...didget mybarc disabledin the process though
he had Level 3 Combat Agility...
I would say that 500m's is the minimum distance you need between you and the spawn to have it reset...I just place a waypoint at the lair or spawn so I know for sure where it was...works like a charm...
I guess you weren't going insane after all chewbaccawookie...I think you were the only I said was possibly going insane
congrats!

Aye Thor, I was the one that you said that too. I took it in stride because if someone happened upon me doing it, they would probably think I was going insane... lol!

I spent an hour and a half this morning going back and forth between 2 bull rancor lairs that were about 620M apart. No luck.
So how rare are Bull Rancor babies these days? If I keep doing this for a week or so are my odds decent of finding a baby?
Beyond that - is there a list of current *rare* babies anywhere? I know which ones were rare when they introduced rare pets, but so much has changed since I left the game. For instance, I was shocked last night when I saw a rancor youth baby! They never used to spawn babies. But he had no special, so he was set free hehe.
edit - Ok now I'm annoyed. I just read in another thread that they stopped spawning babies in mission lairs earlier this month. In that thread people mentioned that you can tell a lair is a mission lair when it's named after the animal, as opposed to wild lairs being named "a pile of rocks" - "a warren" or whatevr.
Sure enough, both lairs I drove back and forth between for an hour and a half were named Bull Rancor lairs. So I never even had a chance, and had no clue. Grr...

Yeah what's up with this despawning stuff? I just found 2 GPS adults and one of them (and the 2 lairs near it) totally despawned for no reason. I know nobody killed it becauseI was gone less than 5 minutes and their were no corpses.
I wouldn't think it was odd if it weren't for the fact that I usually log back on 12 hours later (after work or whatever) and see the exact same spawns that were there 12 hours ago.
Anyway, before these 2 GPS's I had only found one adult ever. The first took 20 or so hours of effort to find (and then my internet went out) and these last 2 5 or 6 hours.
I'm staying up until I find a baby or...GASP!... it despawns on me.

Well I spent five days on dath looking for various babies and only came accross mine by chance. I didn't use the despawn method. I have tapped numerious lairs and I had much greater difficulty in getting a baby bull rancor to spawn compared to the stoneskin hanadak.

The way I understand it is that planets have a spawn cap. When the cap is reached and someone gets a mission, the system most likely gets rid of a wild spawn. Most likely a spawn that isn't being attacked at the time.

You do need to be master because the GPS still has a high level of ferocity so without the enhanced training abilities in master will take a very long time to tame.
