In my opinion, the latest patch on TC has effectively destroyed what is left of the CH profession. When it goes live I will be giving up CH and then the game when my account lapses in August. I am so furious that I let myself believe the DEVS would get things right after all the broken promises and blatant disregard for us and our profession. Then they kick us in the teeth by breaking our profession with Publish 19 (some would say intentionally) then pushing this patch on us. I am on the kettemoor server and if anyone would like any of my pets they are welcome to have them. I have a bunch of the new elites. I have enjoyed this forum over the past year and my only advice to anyone wishing to become a CH is to have their head examined. I don't expect the CH profession to be around much longer. I would wish good luck to all who are left, but even luck won't help you now.

well I was already one foot out the door on CH and now I am gone. I think I am going to use my token respec and turn my MCH into some combat pounding prof and see if I can finish out the village before my subscription is up in August. I'm not just getting fed up with CH, SOE just seems to pump out crap after crap in its publishes. Every publish this game seems to change more than a CSR response and frankly it is annoying. I still love this game but I dont see spending $15/month for something they havent fixed, will never fix, and will continue to screw up.

I'll take some of your pets if you don't find another home for them. I'm not on line a whole lot but I'll keep an eye out for you when I log in.

PS: Sory you don't enjoy CH any more, although I'd suggest trying out the patch before passing judgement on what it is supposed to do. Most of the CH changes I saw in the notes looked like improvements to me, but I havn't actualy experienced them either.

Much that I love CH (mastered it 3 times over the past year and a half) I think i'll be hanging up my pets when this patch goes live and re-organise my template completely... what i'll be is still up for debate, but i'll sure miss being able to pull out my 3 nargs and send my kimo chasing players in eisley (love the reaction i get from that

Having tried the patch, I can say it isnt as bad as it looks on paper.
I was still able to single pull using a level 65 BE gurrek, the only difference was I had to let the pet get much closer before the creature got the ! sign over its head and moved to attack the pet.
The a quick follow command and the creature DID come, and I was able to kill it successfully.
This still worked on agro mobs, although not with 100% success, it is still possible.
What I see is that 'eventually' these changes will negate the imbalance of non CH pets and droids being as useful as CH pets.
By that, I mean that as we are aware, the new pet special system is based on the handler, not the pet. When we train a pet specially to tank, or to deal damage, or to apply states, that is something no one else CAN do.
Up until now, my biggest issue has always been (pre CU ) level 10 pets with the same specials, and close to the same survivability and functionality (barring damage output) that my CL 70 pets had.
With these changes, that will never happen again.
Of course, I do beleive we should have had the special system BEFORE this change , and I would like to know a timetable of its implimentation, but the actual changes we see do not play as bad as they read.

The /attack /follow works for me but often (not always) /attack /follow /attack does not. The pet attacks, then follows, then just stands there laughing atmy distresswhile I battle the creature. Anyone else have this problem?

I'm not a CH anymore but yeah, this happened all the time. There is a trick to it. Usually what happens is, the enemy engages you a few meters beyond the attack range of your pets and the pets just stand there. If you draw the enemy back to your pets, they will engage it (at least, that's what happened for me). Of course, now you are drawing full aggro on the enemy and if you can't take it that won't work, but my combat prof was TKA so I could take the heat.

I've had that happen off and on but I believe the person you're quoting has tried the patch on one of the test servers. According to the notes the pet combat AI should work better. The only real issue people are having with the patch is the mob aggro and pulling abilities of pets. Instead of making pets useful and valuable the developers, little by little, make pets more and more a liability.
