Thread: Vote: add 'Droid Handler' to the CH tree

Add "Droid Handling" skills to the current Creature Handler tree.
Hmm, you can always trust CH's to come up with these ideas.
We are trying not to turn into a copy of the BE/CH system. But if we know the DEV's we don't have much of a say.
Nice try Lor but you have to be kidding right?
The day will never dawn when this happens. I'm sorry you feel nerfed in CH but believe me you dont know what being nerfed really feels like till you lived as a DE for a while.
We don't want the CH/BE dependancy..how much clearer can we be? I know you hang around this board lately so you know thats the case. I'd accuse you of trying to upset an already upset group, but thats probably unfair. Lets just leave it at No Thankyou.

3. The third approach is to add a “Droid Master” profession. The idea here is if you want to control high level combat droids, you must invest skill points in the profession the same way creature handlers do.
This is the basic challenge that is involved in executing the “Droid Invasion”.The developers have thought long and hard about all of the choices and feel that the third choice is the best choice.
I think the devs already made up their minds...
isn't this better than having DE a hybrid combat class? 2 days ago DE's expressed much outrage at TH for having the misguided thought of having DE anything but a pure crafting class. DEs also dont want a DH class, so....... what do you want?
Adding it to CH seems to make the most sense since all the rules are already in place, and the devs already said they want the same type of rules governing combat droids that currently govern combat pets.

I'm sorry you think I feel nerfed as a CH. You dont know me, and nothing in my post alluded to the fact that I felt CH was nerfed.
My suggestion has nothing to do with giving CH more power. "Creature" Handlers would have to choose between 70 levels of droids or 70 levels of creatures, or any combination of the two.
Don't think the devs will allow high level combat droids to be any more uber than high level BE creature pets. So whatever 'Droid Handler' comes out in the end is going to be just as nerfed as Creature Handlers. So why not make it all one big happy nerfed up class?
I guess that I would just rather see droids, both the currently available ones and future combat droids, as a "commonly used single-sidekick", and leave CH the way it is for people that want to have the most powerful single pets, or multiple semi-powerful pets.
For example, in the past it was pretty common for people to get 1100 in CH so that they could use a GSP or Grand Wrix. I think that if people could spend some skill points, and be able to call *one* CL25-30 battle droid, it wouldn't step on our toes much. I'd also like to see battle droids have a different "vibe" or optimal function than creature pets, if you will. Something like having them be less effective at melee/kinetic tanking, but better at damage-dealing, either by shooting faster or having better actual damage than a comparable CL creature pet.

This would be better than adding a whole new "Droid Handler" profession, but I feel like a certification system or a single line of droid handling skills (like 1/4 of a whole standard profession) might be a better solution.

I see your point, but then again I wouldnt mind being able to control a "balanced" army of droids..
if its only a Droid cert or single tree of skills, that severely limits the strength of the droids the devs can justify us controlling...

Well knowing creatures has nothing to do with handling droids I'm afraid.
Nothing has to do with handling droids.. like i saidabove itdoesn't take any skills to control a droid. They are programmed to follow the orders of the owner by the Engineer who designed them.
