does anyone here accually really love their chosen profession and path as a creature handler?

i sure have, i have been around for a while, though i am post nerf, i have witnessed alot of what people

here are complaining about with the profession, but it seems that no one here has anything better

to do than to complain more and more about the devs, and/or vert.

if you people who complain so much, dont like this profession why do you continue to bare the MCH title?

i personally dont think we have really been screwed as many seem to believe.

after JTL there is gonna be alot of changes, but even sense then

the devs have had 30different professions to look at, to answer questions for, to fix errors for, to nerf, balance, fix whatever.

you cant expect to make everyone happy when they want it, and how they want it.

maybe instead of crying nonstop about how much CH is dying and how much you think the devs are lairs

and are worthess, maybe you should fine something else todo or perhaps another game.

cause you voices are basically needles in a haystack .

just seems like 80% of the forum CH posters hate this lovely profession.

I take it you don't hunt for rare pets. Otherwise you would hate this profession and threaten to quit and put your fist through the monitor.

Actually, we complain that much BECAUSE we love this profession and would like to see CH made more useful, especially for the interaction with other players. Currently almost no one wants a mount because vehicles are faster and what else can we give the community?

PvP? No.
PvE? No, melee can tank better than our pets.

So we can only enjoy ourself with hunting rare pets and show them off until someone yells at us to store them because the think they cause the lag they have :/

I am 3434 atm, getting master tomorrow and will keep CH until i leave the game (again). I have even a 2nd account which i will start to get MBE, MMerchant, Artisan to complement the fun i have with pets.

Five stars for you. I love the class and I love hunting for rares. There is plenty of room for improvement (especially in PvP, but I don't like PvP anyway), but there is just something nice about being out in the wilderness alone with nothing but my weak rifle skills and my faithful companions.

well i have hunted creatures on the rare scale of 7/10 anything rarer than that is a waste of time personally...

i see Rares as mainly just something i can call out in public and brag with, which is stupid IMO.

these so called rare pets like the GPS do not have stats that leave mebreathless, therefore i just hunt for something

a little less stressful to locate. i dont mind spending hours or even days looking for something, cause i have

ocassionally and yet i dont feel the need to quit CH. If there were easy to find they wouldnt be rare.

i really enjoy camping out in the woods with my pet, attacking whatever crosses our path, aswell as friendly group hunting and

bringing out my pets that im proud of.

that gives me joy, that gives me happiness, the devs can fix CH if they wish, but even if it was left as it is, i would still love it

the same.

PvP? No. this i agree with accually.
PvE? No, melee can tank better than our pets. i do absolutely fine at pve with my pets, i aid my pets in battle, and that is how i think the profession was ment to be. and i let my pets tank and sheild me from all the harsh blows so IMO we are the better tanking profession sense if you are ranged you rarely take any hits cause you are far away

So we can only enjoy ourself with hunting rare pets and show them off until someone yells at us to store them because the think they cause the lag they have :/see this is pointless and stupid, hunting a rare pet just so you can whip it out and brag? to me doing this just shows thatsome peopleseriously have no grasp left on the real world.

I do fine too, but a human TKA tanking a kimogila better than a rav torton which has more mass and should hold better against such a creature?

Your opinion, but peoples are different and enjoy different stuff. I don't sit at starports and pull out my pets to show them off, but i like to show them to friends and other MCHs or even Novice CHs to show them what they can get later in the profession.

Know what I love about CH? The strategy involved. It's gotten me away from being buffed and armored 24/7. I'll head to Dathomir all by my self (more fun with a friend) and just go looking for creatures to hunt. I get odd looks from all the Jedi (with Teras Kasi tags up) when I leave the Trade Outpost on Dewback back (hehe). Stampy and I are a team, he bites rancors on the toes, I shoot them in the head.

At master swordsman rancor lairs were a piece of cake. Buffs, armor, spin attack. Done. Not anymore. Everyone is afraid of dying. I say bring it on! Having started back in May, I have no clue what the game was like without buffs, but I do remember the hunting parties us n00bs would have out of Mos Eisley. We were so thrilled that night we took out a dewback lair and split the 4k among 10 people. When we got hurt, we stayed in my nifty novice Ranger camp. Those days are long gone now, I scoff at dewback lairs, 2 of my former hunting buddies are now married and instead of dancing Lekku spends her time beating up cavemen on Dantooine for money.

So CH, strategy. For sure. Take rancors one at a time. There's a bolma lair nearby? Great! Agro the rancor and lead him to the bolmas. Unload on him while he's distracted.

Yay for CH! (most of the time)

I'm still a novice, but I started CH to help with my rifleman(my main chosen profession). Now that I'm halfway done with leveling rifleman, I can take some time and concentrate on my CH skills. I really enjoy this profession already. Even though I'm 0/0/0/0 :-). with only basic traning skills(I'm a Wookie, so the +10 helps). I look at all creatures in a different way now.

The only people who are really complaining are the people who having been playing since CH got nerfed because lets face it people are affraid of change .. Everybody wants things to stay the same , so when things change they get all huffy.

Since i havn't been here since before that patch i cannot really say whats been nerfed and what hasn't but i do like CH and do enjoy fighting with my pets and will never drop it.

I picked up CH a few days ago cause I am a crafter with really poor combat skills. The CH didn't really help with combat skills but it did give me something to tank my mobs instead of me or a half wit probot. I am loving it! I'm not a PvPer (unless I see some reb farming Storm Troopers in Mos Espa (killed 3 now). PvE is where my game is at, and I don't like grouping much either. Now I'm seriously considering just dropping my Master Architect/Master Artesian and go Master CH instead I'm having so much fun...

I disagree, many others who have been playing CH since pre-nerf/balance are not 'complaining'. I for one still love CH and I've been playing the game since it launched. I was actually happy with the balance as it made CH much much more rare. Prior to that, the first several months of the game just about everyone outside of perhaps the BH players had CH since with only twotrees you could have max taming skill and creature level, and as such you'd walk into a town and every few steps there was yet another person with huge petsfollowing them as they were the best way to get missions and to take thehits at that time. The rare people at that point were the ones without CH or the ones using anything other than rancors and grauls. The rebalance of the CH profession killed a lot of the dabbling as to have the same skill levels one had to master 4 trees instead of just 2 and when the pet statistics were changed it dropped the stats (or at least armor levels) of many pets, butthe abilites to choose what attacks to have the pets to use was added at that time also, such that it is not a very rare occurrence when a pet does a ranged or special attack anymore. So there have been tradeoffs and the balance of all the creature levels and skills was done as a precursorto the combat balance(which has been delayed multiple times as I'm sure you've heard), but I wouldn't consider it a nerf and I still enjoyhuntingwith my pets and finding and taming babies (of all varieties). Irarely even use swgcreatures.com ashalf the fun of finding babies for me isfinding out what abilities and stats they have.

Just my thoughts, do with them what you will.

I agree!!! I have been a CH since release of Beta 1, I was a CH when we rocked, we got nerfed...I was still a CH. We got nerfed again, and again...still CH...I searched for the Webmasters that were worth millions...nada, zip, zilch...they are extinct. I finally found one!!! Love it cherish it! I find out they are now commonplace and everybody has one...blah...still CH, I search for the rares...nothing zilch, nada...still CH...why? You may ask...

...because this is truly an amazing profession! I can be out hunting, run across a baby (rare or not) i tame it just to have it, then i give them away to noobs or friends, i teach them about the beauty of the CH and they are hooked (most of the time). I train mounts for free...I train noobs for free..., I go after the "ultimate" pets with my BE character then give them to my CH character to play with...man what more can you ask for! Oh you want more...ok, how about the few times when in a fight i get incapped and my pets come to the rescue keeping the Deathblow off me, how about the times when my pets keep me company on those long arduous jurneys across the Tatooinian landscape, or when they protect me form the baddies while my non combat character checks his harvesters, or even, when you pull out the landspeeder or swoop and BOOOM it's disabled...out comes the mount to save the day, man I can keep going on and on.

Mostly, I like the profession for what it is, an interaction between man (wookie in my case) and beast. The pleasure of the tame, the giggles of the weird "trick" or just simply the fun of checking the growth process of my babies. Whatever your reasons may be, I just overlook the nerfs and just wait for a balance where we will once again be considered a welcome addition to a group hunt.
