There was a time when aggressive creatures had aggressive babies. These babies were red on radar also. So you had to stop at every lair and tab through looking for a baby. These babies were more likely to attack you if you failed the tame. Please share some of your successes and some of your failures.
My toughest, most difficult tame was a Kliknik Defender baby on Yavin IV.
I had wanted a Kliknik for the longest time, and so once I hit taming 2 I headed back to Yavin to see what I could get. I was then 2214 having gone up Management fully and training before hitting taming for aggressive pets.
I got a Defender and a Hunter baby to spawn as the second cycle. I attemped to tame the Hunter and failed three times including him aggroing me once. I decided to switch off and try the Defender. I ended up getting aggroed more than a dozen times, and it took more than 40 minutes, but I finally had my Defender baby. Luckily no other spawns of Klikniks had popped out. I did not get the Hunter as another CH who had stood there watching me run around in circles for 10 minutes trying to break aggro, ran up and tamed him.
Oh well, I got my Defender, and the thrill of actually taming this stubborn baby was immense. After all those aggroes, I prevailed, without pulling my gun out and smacking him over the head with it
My Deadliest, was my first trip to Endor. Endor was my last planet to visit and it was well over 3 months from launch when I went there. I went to Dath right before the great Graul migration to Dant.
Anyway, I came across a Blood Stained Merek baby. He was just within my taming level, so I donned my taming armor, unequipped my weapon, hit peace, masked my scent, went prone and crawled my way in. Ranger crawling speed sure helped back then. Anyway, I got to the baby and stood up and put myself on follow. I attempted the tame. I failed, but no aggro. I attempted a second time. The little monkey faced bugger walked us right between a few Harvestor adults. Then it happened. Tame failed, he aggroed, and my peace failed and I slapped him across the face by reflex. The Harvestors sure didn't like that. About 7 Mereks of various types all had their HAM bars lit up and boom I was out and dead in no time flat.
Come to think of it, I have yet tamed a Blood Stained Merek baby. I have always just passed them by since this day. I wonder if it is a subconscious thing? Oh well,
Just a random taming story:
During the patch in which Graul Maulers stopped spawning, I went to Dantooine. I was 2214 in CH and working on that 2nd taming box. I could tame Grauls but not the Maulers as they were just out of my reach. I was close to Master Ranger at this time, so I was out tracking Grauls for myself. I came across a few different CH out there, all wookiees, heh. Anyway, they had asked if I had seen any Maulers around. I checked track and sure enough there was one there. We all hustled over to see if we could get a baby to pop. We took turns popping the lair. I ended up grouping with these guys for 3 days straight and 2 other CHs during this week. I saw more than a dozen Graul Mauler babies get tamed, and all during a time when everyone was on the boards complaining that they had been removed. I was extremely lucky, and I even made about 150k in tips from these CH. It was a very fun time.
Also, these tames all took place back when taming clothes of any level sold for more 200k easily as Milk was a very rare thing.

a few that i can recall.
one time a long time ago when i was working up ch. i was just at the bare minimum level to tame huurton stalkers. searched fora long time to find a baby(keep in mind this was well before even grouped animals counted towards mission difficulty, so missions were out of the question). finally found one, took like 80 bajillion tames to finally get the pup.
another one would be taming graul maulers way back in the day when they were on dath. just had 3/2/0/0 ch. was scent masked in a group of 4 adults and a baby. occaisionally the baby would aggro, which would piss off the adults, and i'd run like the gates of hell opened up behind me. once they broke i would try again assuming i was still alive.
just yesterday i was trying to tame an arachne widow baby. for some reason that day had to be a boar wolf population explosion. they were on all sides, and no matter which direction i took i would be a little to close to a particular group, and they wouldkeep aggroing me even through mask scent. not only would it screw my tame attempt but they would keep blinding me so i couldn't attempt a tame for a full minute after i made sausage links out of them. thoroughly annoying.

My first Toxic Merrek Battle Lord was my worst. This was way back before taming clothes, mounts, and bikes. You ran everywhere and armor was not even worth wearing. I think Chittin Armor was the rage then. The TMB has strong poison and that little bugger would not tame. Aggro babies agro'd back then. He was 1100m north of Smugglers Outpost. On my first approach he agroed me and poisoned me before I even started taming. I ran to break agro but died before he broke agro because of the poison. The little bugger DB'd me. lol I clone run the 1100m back look around and see him by his lonesome I waypointed the location. I redo the mask scent and go prone. It really helpped back then. Tame failed, he aggroed with that strong poison and DB'd me again. I died 14 times before he finally tamed and had to run 1100m through the toughest critters in the game at the time every time he did. It took over 2 1/2 hours until he tamed. Back then most people were afraid to even set foot on Endor.

Wow. Congrats on the tame and the patience.
Yep I was one of those that didn't go to Endor, until later on. :

The longest and hardest tame I had was my Graul back before the nerf. It took me a good 8 hours to find the lair that spawned him and it took awhile to tap the lair and get the adults away. This was well before I had any real combat skills at all, and I was relying on my old Giant Veermok (I no longer have, needed room in my datapad and I wasn't using him anymore after the nerf) for help. Finally I got a baby to spawn and spammed like crazy to keep the monkey off him. It took a few tries but I got him and I never felt so happy! He's not that good anymore, but I will always keep him because of the memories. I named him Hugo, after my Giant Veermok in his honor for helping me.

Hiya Tivo.
Hey if you get a chance can you jump on TC Eclipse and check on the Pet Vitality loss issue? Vert and I are looking into it. It looks like we might have Vitality loss and Incap recovery working to a point. If you don't have time, that is cool.
Okay I hijacked my own thread, sorry. Back to the stories.

Actually your Eclipse Character was copied over with everyone elses. I think they copied during your off time. You should still have your two Novice CH pets, of course they won't be full grown yet

There are two times when I faced a very difficult tame.
The first screecher I found was part of a 5 screecher spawnI found North of the Research outpost. The screecher baby was just sitting there on theveryfirst spawnwhich is unheard of because mostly rare creatures go several spawnsinto the lair. Anyway I mask scent anddisarmed andwaited till two spread apart from the main group. Mom and the screecherwent about 30 meters away so decided now would be the best time.
AsI crept upboth screechersaggroed on me when was 20 meters away and luckilystill had bike out soran until they stopped attacking me. As soon as they stopped attacking me the screecher turned its sights on the baby and tried to kill it rather then let me have it. I got off bike and was a BH at the time so got llc out and fried mom. The baby fortunately took little damage but was diseased by Mom. I frantically started taming failing over and over. Then when the screecher was about 2 disease hits from dieing the words I have tamed filled the screen so quickly fed and stored.
The second was when I got my Bull Rancor
Was a static spawn and there were 2 nightsister rangers near by and all rancors from spawn were out. I tamed knowing I may never see another baby of these ever again and got him on 2nd try.

Way back in 03 when I was a young TKM, I figured I'd head over to Endor and kick a few spiders around. Heck, I knew they would be no match for me. I had on some of that new 80% kinetic armor, found a doc to buff me, had a shield gen, even had some pixie in my pack, just in case.
Well I found a widow/webmaster mound. You know how Endor is at times, Then nest you want has enough red dots around from overlapping nests to make you a bit nervous. Well as Fable (my cat) and I started working the 1st spawn I targeted the nest by mistake. We all know what happens then. to make matters worse We got aggro from another nearby nest while trying to beat feet outa there, same thing, widows and webmasters. I was healing the cat, fighting, praying, trying to run, all at the same time. I put the shield gen on, used the pixie and kept on swinging. I cannot remember how many spiders we fought, but I do remember you had to use a magnifying glass to see what was left of my health bar when the last one went down. I just stared at the screen, cause I knew I was on my way to the cloneing center when this started. Rested up, tapped a nest, don't know if it was the one I started on, again and got a webmaster baby.

Toughest Tame was, and this is as a master, with head to toe taming bobus along with food, I had a heck of time trying to tame my Gleaming Lantern Bird. He refused to sit still and let me have him, and Im not kidding when I say it took me close to 30 minutes. he just kept flying away at the last moments. I was not letting him go, just made it all the more of a victory when I nailed it.
Deadlyistwas the Cavern Creeper. Went aggro 3 or 4timesan ranback tohis buddies who went for me like I was free lunch. I got him, but not without pain..lots of pain...
