Thread: Calling for a Vote of No Confidence Against Vertexon.

Disclaimer: Mods have stated before that if there were a problem with Vertexon that one should approach TH. Since TH does not recieve IM's the only way to conclude without a doubt how the CH community feels is to run a vote/poll.

It is from my POV that I call for this Vote for the following reasons:

A) Vert has admitted that he cannot keep up with his "job" and real life.

B) Vert only represents a marginal amount of CH's (see recent post regarding Spawn Rates being increased).

C) Vert has given us marginal information from the Devs regarding anything.

D) CH has only gotten worse in the past year. The total of A-C is likely the reason CHis where it stands today.

Offer any difference of opinion if you want but my vote is.....

I agree, NO CONFIDENCE. I vote for dismissal and removal of said party and installation of new pet correspondent.

I have to agree with P9M...I was gone a year and to come back to the message boards being like this it seems that CH has gone to perdition in a picnic basket =P Seriously tho, you used to see CH's all over the place, now they're nowhere to be found. I loved being a CH in the early months and as it stands now I see absolutely no reason to go back to it. The CH is worse off than ithas everbeen, and while it's hard to point a finger at any individual person, the fact that Vert has been the correspondent all this team leaves me believing he is unsuited for the task. Someone with a little more time and a lot more passion for the class is going to be needed before we're going to see anything good happen for the CH.

My thinking...

CH needs a new Correspondent

I respectfully disagree.

A. I don't recall seeing a post where Vert said he was unable to handle correspondent duties. Perhaps you could provide the addy for that.

B. Perhaps I'm one of the marginal CH that Vert represents, but I'm not sure since I couldn't find the Spawn post you referred to. So I will have to defer comment on this. Perhaps you could provide addy for this as well. Still, from all the posts I've read by Vert it sure seems like he is representing the vast majority of CH.

C. Vert can only tell us what the Devs tell him. Having been to fanfest, I can tell you for a fact that the information Vert hasrelayedtous is exactly the same information the Devs handed out at fanfest. The fact that the Devs handed out only marginal information is not Vert's fault.

D. CH did reach its nadir afterTheNerfs, butsince then I don't think it'saccurate to say it's gotten worse. It hasn't gotten better, but it's certainlynot worse. It can't be worse. But that is most certainly not Vert's fault. CH,as well as most every other profession, is on the back burner and nothing Vert can do or say will change that.

Even if CH has gotten worse since December,A - C still would have nothing to do with that. You think that Vert hasn't made our concerns known to the Devs? That perhaps the Devs are somehowin the dark about the state of the CH profession? Or that perhaps Vert has the power to go brow beat the Devs into making the changes we want? Well, then, what do you think Vert should be doing that he's not? What would you do if you were correspondent?

Go to a BEAST meeting on Radiant sometime. Meet Vertexton.

Vert does a great job. The whole Spawn Rate issue is an issue because frankly, people disagree! SOme people think "Must be common enough that I dont have to work as much to get!" Though in Tivo's case somethings are TOO RARE, part of the fun of rares is just that... they're rare! Its like being able to click a button and WHAMMO AUTOMASTERED AND HAVE EVERY PROFESSION INCLUDING ALL JEDI SKILLS. Its the thrill of going for it and the strife and struggle! If life was easy at all times, it'd get boring!

Vert has been talking to devs as mentioned at the meeting today. They however have a certain ammount of work and its a matter of delegating work.

vertexon works hard, but as he has said repeatedly, the devs have yet to listen to any of his e-mails concerning big issues. the problem isnt vertexon, its the devs who dont listen to him.

I am not here to debate what I would do. But the Correspondent Job is to correspond. He does not, orcannot.

The Correspondent Job is supposed to represent the majority of the community, not just a small fraction.

The communication in this game is so deplorable. It is of little wonder nowthing gets accomplished or when it does it is broken or represents only the minority.

Some may feel it is of little concern that Vert communicates so little with CH. How can anyone be reasonably sure that he even communicates with the Devs or what he does tell them is correct.

I by no means say I represent everyone. The only sure way to know what people feel is to ask. That is what I have done. Let the results stand for themselves.

No offense intended, but.....

"a hectic week in RL"...... Someone has a badweek and you're concerned? Perhaps you should check out the TKA forums where their leader has less than 200 posts and that includes outside of TKA.

From reading that second link, it looks like some of you are complaining that Rare pets are too rare. OK? Missing your point there. If they weren't rare, then what exactly? Where is your challenge?

I'll take the opinions of old time CHs if they choose to post here rather than someone who has been "registered" for less than one month.

Flame away.

Vert has always responded when I brought up a serious issue. He knows what is wrong as well as the rest of us.

I have confidence in him as long as he wants the position.

I have none left for the devs as already said. They don't listen, and quite obviously have different priorities.

A) The post you refer to says that he had a very busy week. Who hasn't had one of those?

B) I read that entire thread. What evidence from that and other threads shows that he only represents a marginal amount of CH's?

C) All correspondents are only given a marginal amount of info. Often times they are given info and instructed not to discuss specifics with anyone. Take a look at other forums and see for yourself. The dev team will not give out info with specifics about anything.

D) The problem with communication between correspondents and the developement team exists on the side of the developement team. The same issue exists in EVERY profession. Let's take the smuggler issues as an example:

D: We need a list of the top concerns that smugglers are having so we can fix them.
C: Ok, here's a detailed list
D: Thank you, we'll look into this
(3 months pass)
D: We need a list of the top concerns that smugglers are having so we can fix them.
C: I just gave you a list, nothing on it got fixed, but here's some new issues since you made these other changes in the game too
D: We'll look into this
(3 months pass)
D: We need a list of the top concerns that smuggler are having. We're going to completely revamp the smuggler profession.
C: This is the third list we've given you, the original issues never got fixed, and there are even more things on it. Oh, here's a 100 page document on what the smuggler want to see in the revamp too. Thanks for giving our profession some attention.
D: We'll get right on it. We'll be in touch with you as far as what we can do.
(2 months pass, 3 out of 4 specials get a major nerf, the 4th is completely negated by buffs and armor)
D: We can't do the smuggler revamp because we have no idea what the smugglers want. Let's start discussing what the smugglers would like to see and we will get it done in publish 10.
(Smugglers flip out and start creating an uproar, devs state that the attitude of the smugglers is completely impossible to work with them, and there will be no communication unless "the attitude becomes less poor". Smugglers again discuss the revamp and start preparing a new document, which "C" submits to the dev team - 2 months pass)
D: We can't do the smuggler revamp because we have no idea what the smugglers want. Let's start discussing it and see if we can get a smuggler revamp done after combat balance, which will be out before JTL.

It continues on and on, but you get the picture. How you can justify blaming the correspondent for something completely out of his control is beyond my comprehension(i.e. "CH is balanced in prep for the combat revamp, there will be no change to the CH profession or the creatures", didn't TH say this in one of the 19 answers?). But, if you have evidence that the CH nerf and the lack of any action to make CH more competitive on the part of the dev team is the fault of Vert, please display it.
