Thread: hi all im thinking of beieng ch and i want some good advice
oops pressed enter too soon lol can i tame a rancor and what is the highest lvl a creature will get to
Novice CH = 12
First tree = 8
Second tree = 8
Third tree = 8
----------------
Total 36
That would be CL36 for babies of non-aggressive creatures and if you take the tree that lets you tame babies of aggressive creatures I think the total for those babies is CL30.

No. Each creature type (not counting mission spawns which don't have babies anyway) has a fixed CL. A tamed creature remains this CL from the moment you tame it no matter what training you give. You cannot tame any creature higher than your "max level of pets" skill, and if you get a higher CL creature (from a BE or from taming a pet then dropping some CH skills) you cannot call the creature from your datapad.
I don't think pets can "die" forever. They do have a vitality stat that counts as their "condition", and if it gets DBed that stat goes down. You can bring up the current vitality with a BE vitality pack, but that reduces the max vitality of the pet. Eventually, the vitality gets low enough that the pet's stats start decreasing. I'm not sure if a pet can hit 0 vitality, or if it's still callable at that point, but it probably wouldn't be worth using.
Agressive creatures above a Sentry Hermit Spiderare still pretty much outta your league. Check your skills and you will notice a "Max Pet Level" skill. You can tame creatures up to this level. When you get higher in CH, you will be able to call 2 pets, then finally 3. However, the combined total level of your pets cannot excede your "Max Pet Level" rating. You can't have out 2 or 3 CL70's.
I would sudgest hunting on Naboo, Southof Kaadra. You will find many Gualama, Hermit Spider, Night Spider, and a few other tamables within Novice range with only a few agressive creatures running about. The field between the lake and mountain is large and has few houses and tree's, so it's easy to minuiver in.
i don't think this is true. the aggro skins have a minimum CL when they're BE made, even if they're used only out of CL1 dna. going from memory i think a kimo was 40 or something? rancors will get hit with this too.

So you will not find any CL 12 Rancors in the wild, but a BE could make one. The only thing is it will be CL12 forever, you will eventually want to trade it in for a higher CL creature.
Just as an FYI, creature skins (the appearance of the pet, I think it also affects damage type and maybe armor resists) have a minimum CL associated with them. IIRC, BE Rancors can't be made lower than CL 35.
