Thread: Creature Handler Top 5 issues, post-CU edition
1. CH XP caps at 20K XP, Tier 1 boxes require 175K.
Pretty obvious issue, totally gates new players entering the profession.
2. "Hate" system makes it difficult for pets to fulfill combat roles in PvE.
I'm going to suggest that they either tweak the baseline Hate generated by creature pets, add a "/petTaunt" special to allow the CH to manually control the generated Hate to a degree, or a combination of both.
3. Pet specials broken/invisible, pet statistics invisible.
According to the 3 questions Vertexon asked and posted here before he stepped down, these issues are going to be addressed soon. But since it's so major, I included it here.
4. Uncallable pets that were previously usable.
This encompasses all non-BE pets that shot up over CL 70 when their planets were rebalanced, and all BE pets that converted to being crazy high levels. Hopefully we'll see either an increase in controllable pet levels (to 80) which I will ask for as a possible solution to this, or the most common problem pets (klikniks, gnarled rancor) reduced to CL 70 or less. Not sure how they'd handle the BE pets that converted really badly, but since the issue is similar I combined it.
5. Non-lair MOBs no longer respawn when killed, making certain babies unable to be found/tamed.
I'm going to try to find out if it was intended to essentially "extinct" pets like the Great Plains Stalker and Swamp Stalker that only spawn without lairs, or if they actually have a chance (even a slight one) of spawning a baby without the ability to kill the spawn up to 4 times in sequence. So far there are no post-CU reports verified of fresh baby tames, and these pets (and others like them) are now highly desirable both for their rarity and/or their "Elite" flag.
Please give me a bit of feedback if this is what you think I should submit, bring up any other issues you feel are *more important* here. I realize we have other problems at the moment, but I feel these are the most pressing based on community feedback so far. Thanks!

Good list Ko-a
I think that list is a good summary of the current issues for the ch profession. Personally for me though #4 is the biggest issue as over the last week have lost 2 BEAST members due to their discontent of losing their prized klikniks. Personally I have a Kliknik Queen and cant call him due to the cl 75 level. Ursula is safely tucked in datapad and will never delete but hopeful swg will let her out of her datapad cage.
Milteck (BEAST)
The hate system as it stands is not good if i tame and train my pet and look after him/her i expect to have more control over its behaviour when hunting ever heard of the saying dont bite the hand that feeds u. I dont wish to stand next to a lair and have my pet fly into the nest aggroeing all and sundry in the area. I have trained my dog in real life and in comparison she now does not take a dump in the front room of my house something she may have done whilst untrained. Whilst a puppy she would play bite me with needle sharp teeth. After training even when we play battle she gums her lips over her teeth (this for your interest is a boxer dog) and bites with a lot less vigour. Lets have some realism in swg when it comes to some sort of control over pets.
I have lost some of my previously callable pets which is a bit wounding i loved my gaping spider recluse now 76 used to be 44 and i can still call my gaping spider queen which is even more odd - seems to be not much thought gone into this. But i dont know about this maybe some change has to be expected here maybe we cant demand/ recieve everything we want.
Pet specials - dont get me started here tis is a high priority fix its like taking force powers off a jedi - not having pet specials is like a tka with no knuckler very very important to fix this
well thats my opinion
zaal swinari mch bloodfin
This issue could have easily been avoided if the devs had just put in a "This is what will happen - Are you sure?" dialog box. Really stupid and lazy coding. They really need to do better than that.

1) The Devs. They do not take the people playing CH seriously. This is evidenced by #2
2) The Devs. Lie to the player base; both the CH profession and players in general. We got stealth nerfed one more time. I would be willing to guess this is a prevamp for some mythical CURB to happen some time in 2008.
3) We need to know when the Devs will start respecting our profession?
4) Is it SOE policy to have a combat rebalance summit and tell 20 correspondents one thing so they blindly defend against conspiracy theorists, only to do another thing and have 20 correspondents quit and the conspiracy theorist turn out to be the most brilliant of the forums users?
5) We need to know where are the people are who said everything would be rosy after the CURB?
And Ko we need you to ask these questions.
The worst bug of all. Needs to be addressed first.

Oh man!!! I just became novice CH last night. Does that mean that, since the xp cap is 20K I might as well forget advancing in this profession?
This should be a priority fix as it literally seems to stop any progression at all. Hope I misunderstood that but I don't think there are too many ways to interpret the statement.

You did not misunderstand. I have been stuck at 20k xp for the last 8 days. It SUCKS!!
