Thread: CH are the best puller! Exploit?
Ok,
but since we can pull without entering the agro range of the mob, and without be in the line of sight, it is mazing.
When we pull, you come closethe target, and run back with /peace(to not generate agro around the target)to pull it outside the lair.
Up to 100meters we can pull. It's more than the best T21 of the game and more than turret! We can pull all mob in radar... you can stay outside a dungeon and just pull everything you want... Acklay???
If it's not an exploit, I'm happy... but I'm really not sure it's not ![]()
I would like a dev to tell me or someone who is sure.
well commanding your pet to attack something and you pet not agroing everything else is not going to be an exploit, its not your fault that the agro function might not be operating correctly. you do as you are supose to, send the pet in, the fact that he is so sneeky is your advantage, if it is unintented the devs will correct it, no one is gonna punish us for it.
besides its something you cant avoid, its pretty hard to get your pet to agro everything currently, so even if its not intended its crappy coding! the attack between your pet and the target starts the instance that you hit attack for your pet and imediately the creature charges for your pet. in a nutshell im just saying there is nothing you can do to avoid this situation so its not exploiting.
you could however resend your pet back in to hopefully attract all the others...but ya wont see me doing that! ![]()

I actualy think this is the MCH's role now after the CU.
Helping a guy unlock his jedi, or assiting people on the Melee accuracy quests by being able to pull mobs out of the danger area into well constructed ambushes.
its not a CH special - u can do this with any pet - even a CL1 kreetle.
i use this tactic when group hunting with my TKM/Doc - select a target - attack - follow - using my BE CL10 Razorcat. the targeted critter comes out alone, so i can taunt and tank him while the rest of the group kills it.
i use this with my MCH/MP to solo lairs - which is kinda harder, asa lot of timesmy pet wouldnt attack again after i used follow to end the first approach. so i usualy dont end the first attack but let my pet's attack go on - have to increase the distancefor thisto avoid being to nearto the lair when my pet meets the target(otherwise the other critters join the fight).
this is not an exploit, it is merely a great hunting tactic. and another thing that will be sought after for grouping.
It is actualy probably an oversight in the NPC AI.
The other great way of doing it is just to send the pet in to attack, that and the NPC will meet half way (and starts it tanking for you).
I do hope they keep this, because it does add an nice element of tactics and role definition for a CH (and yes i know you can do it with a level 10 pet, but how many people call out a level 10 pet when they are part of a group hunt?)

If you want some fun tactics...call 3 pets out...get them conducting a nice patrol, then you can draw three different mobs in three different directions at the same time!
Not tried it yet, but need to get past those two Jedi Sentinals guarding the entrance to the Light Jedi Enclave?...two pets, two patrol routes (opposite sides) then send them into attack, then re-patrol them. Voila, you can walk through the front door!
I have tried luring with level 10 pets, but they are very, very fragile (especially if the baddy has a ranged attack).
I think there is plenty of scope to develop "better" tactics here, and a CH is likely to have tried them (most non-CH's i know dont even carry a pet around with them) and know not how to make mistakes. I personally dont feel you need to add artificial rules in to expand this role.

Never thought about that. Excellent idea and one which i'll have to try and experiment with.
