In not to sure about the tanking thing now. We dont know yet what kind of damage pets will do so the assumption that pets damage is still going to suck in the CU may not be right. And if it is right then CH pets have lost the ability to tank entirely because Mobs will now attack whatever is doing the most damage to them

Armour Mitigations are highly unlikely to stack, I'm sure more than one corespondant has said this too.

The numbers you have put in brackets for speed and accuracy, are thos general ranged speed/accuracy mods?

I like the idea of MCH/MCM with novice pistoleer personally, from a group support role. Could be reasonably effective solo too.

I can see the cheese in continually spamming the shot that stops your opponent from attacking whilst you pet gnaws on him.

i am seriously considering a template along this line

MCH/MCommando/Novice Doc

tho with more testing i will decide for sure, .. just basing this on watching combat spam while fighting creatures and how they are handling the damgage ... it looks like pets may become a viable 'tank' option again which would go good with a nice ranged damage dealing prof.

actually, defences do not stack. its is whatever the defences are for what weapon skill you have for that profession. so a pistol will only use pistol defences. a scatter pistol will only use BH defences. according to what the devs have posted... unless i have missed something...

defenses will depend on the weapon you use .. but will also be linked to the armor you wear ... if you have say TKM and rifle ... if you are wearing the armor from the rifle cert, you loose all your TK def .. even if you are using a TK weapon ...

This is no longer a valid choice. As I have said many many times before and if you read the changes to AI youll know this as well. Things will attack whatever is doing the MOST damage to them so if your outdamaging your pet whatever mob your shooting is gonna ignore it and go STRAIGHT for you.

it still is a very valid choice .. you just have to adjust your fighting style to moderate the damage ... so that it doesnt do enough to come after you instantly ... a weapon with a dot (or the CU equiv of one) would have 'tic' damage that comes over time ..

its all how you play ... and what animal you would pick to fight against different targets

check out what the dev's posted on defences.

  • Speed, Accuracy & Defense mods are now calculated correctly based on weapon equipped

  • havent checked out the TK part yet though...

/agree, I was just using a post-CU character builder, and it didn't show the armor thing's as stackable. The person making it seemed respectable, I would say their information is probably accurate, and it was updated just yesterday.
