I'm not feeling well, so I'll make this short:

I need 5 people for the combat balance sandbox. priority would be given to those who are active on the politician forum, post constructively, and can follow instructions. for more info, check out jessi's post here.

please email [email protected] with the following (please don't PM me, I might not remember to read it):
  1. forum name
  2. station name
  3. why you should be invited

you ARE required to join TEAM HAWTPANTS, so hawtpant-haters need not apply please keep in mind that this is NOT a politician revamp, so I'll be looking for people who are somewhat familiar with combat. please apply ASAP

As you may have heard, each correspondent is being asked to recommend five people to do early Combat Revamp testing when it goes to the "sandbox" server. If you are a Creature Handler and would be interested in assisting with this, please post the following information in this thread:

I'm very intrested in this

I have seen almost everything there is in CH. The goods, the bads, and the patches. I have been a CH, on launch, and now have another character keeping up my CH skills. I now have a MCH on the Kauri server.

Most intresting bug I have seen is the double pet call bug. I believe it's still out there now. You call a pet, but it doesn't respond to any commands. Basically you have to store it then call it again to use it. Funny thing is that the first pet doesn't store and just follows you around till you mount your speeder and lose it.

My favorite CH pets are any spider pets. Arachne, Anglers, Shear Mites, I can't get enough of them. They are the coolest pets in my opinion.

tried bounty hunter at the beginning of the game, ground to 1/2/4/1 bh, got tire of killing things. after a few weeks i went off to another profession. i liked bio at the time so i went to it. ch seemed to be the most logical pair with bio. eventualy got bored of grinding bio, but i liked ch so much i stuck with it ever since. i make it a point to know as much as possible about ch at any given point.

would have to be that one dungeon in everquest(i forget the name offhand)that was added before it was complete. soe put an overpowered monster that would demolish pretty much anything that moved in front of the door to the section they never completed. one group managed to kill the monster with considerable effort, and discovered that there wasn't actually anything beyond the door. soon as they announced that, sony immediately stealth-patched in the rest of the dungeon and toned down the monster, calling it a "bug fix", so people would be able to kill it and make them think there really was was the rest of the dungeon behind it the entire time. probably the funniest "bug" i've encountered in a game to date.

Your favorite SWG pet and why it is your favorite.

favorite tamable: thune grassland guardian. it's just the way they're designed. i've wanted one ever since i saw them plowing across dantooine. they're built in a way that it looks like they could just plow into a group of npcs and their blaster bolts would just bounce off their head plates as they make a charge.

favorite non-tamable: gronda juggernaut. hands down. built like a mack truck and could probably hit just as hard.at clvl 70, there's no reason why they shouldn't be tamable as the strongest pet in the game. always liked the massive frame of a gronda over something like a rancor or a graul. and with a name like juggernaut, how could you go wrong?

Have gone up the CH tree twice. Once before the rebalancing of pets, and now.

Unfortuantly, have not really experiance any bugs other than the ones that have been mentioned in this forum.

GSPs and Grand Wrix, both work well together and the love of cats. Also the graul mauler, due to the fact that for most stuff it can handle due to kenetic resists and great for back up when assisting other people for the most part.

Brief description of your experience with Creature Handling to date. I became a Creature Handler in October 2003. I spent a good deal leveling near the downed sandcrawler on tatooine, taming, Sevorrts, Mountain Worrts, Womp Rats and Dewbacks. I am an obsessive Bull Rancor (baby) hunter. I have 5 BE pets, and the rest are wild tames. I hardly ever do anything without my pets, and have done well in discovering weaknesses and strengths. I really don't know how I would do half the things I do, combat-wise, without my pets. I tend to die very rarely with my pets with me. A Creature Handler for life

Getting stuck in the city wall in the Playstation game, "Driver," and you were able to drive around, as the graphics trailed into psychadelic like streamers

Your favorite SWG pet and why it is your favorite. A Rancor named Bilebelch for roleplaying purposes, and because I enjoy rancors the most of any tameable. They are what inspired me to be a CH in the first place.

I have mastered it several times, each with new characters. It's always been my favorite proffesion no matter how broken it is, because just having creatures out is worth all the bugs. I'm working on mastering CH yet again with a new character right now, just so I can see how it's been harder since last August.

Back on Yavin way back when some of the temples had the question mark boxes that indicates no image. Was pretty interesting.

Giant Peko Peko, because I've always liked birds and giant things are really cool. Unfortunately I never had one tamed.

Brief description of your experience with Creature Handling to date. Bought game to be CH. July 25, 03. Mastered CH early Oct, around my registry date to the side. I have fought tooth and nail for CH in the forums. I have fought beside my pets every step of the way.

Brief description of the most interesting bug you have ever found in a video game (doesn't have to be SWG). Interesting bug? Having improper video drivers loaded made human females appear naked in EQ.

Your favorite SWG pet and why it is your favorite. Ayn Rand (my rancor). She was given to me the first week I had up my NCH title. The fact that I could not use it propelled my drive and determination to get to MCH. It also reminds me to give away to other NCH's. We can only get back what we give away.

I have been a creature handler for over a year. Master from late August of last year to late December of last year. Have remained a gimped CH ever since.

Most interesting bug found:Probably the "infinite distance" missile bug in Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri. Those darn Hive guys and their missiles. What a pain.

Favorite SWG pet: Greater Sludge Panther, pre nerf. Large, fast, fearless. Absorbed great damage. Faithful and loyal. I've had one on my datapad since my first night as a CH.

Note: Consider me a backup candidate. I'm already committed to the sandbox with another correspondent.

Brief description of your experience with Creature Handling to date. I am currently a Master CH and have been one for about a year now. It was the one profession I wanted to enjoy playing the game with and I have no intention of dropping it any time soon. I use it for Role playing and as a complementary profession for my combat needs. I have dropped a few professions such as Pistoleer, Swordsman, and I am thinking of getting rid of TKA....but Creature Handler will not be going anywhere for me

Brief description of the most interesting bug you have ever found in a video game (doesn't have to be SWG). Hard to pick just one. I have been a beta Tester of SWG since the beginning. i was one of the initial 100 in the beta so there is alot to pick from. I would guess one of the interesting ones for me was the ghosting we would come into contact with once we ran into a house. The only work around for this was walking in to every door in game. If you accidently ran in you were ghosted and no one in the house could see you.

Your favorite SWG pet and why it is your favorite. A mottled Wrix. It was my first aggresive pet that I tamed back in July of '03...I still have it in my datapad and use it often for Role Playing

Brief description of your experience with Creature Handling to date. Bought the game about 3 weeks after launch because I saw a screenie of a guy with an eopie on a website somewhere...made Master in August or September, and have only fought once without a pet by my side. I tame pets both for fighting and cuteness, and although the profession has had it's ups and downs, there's always been a way to work with it.(except when you patched and forgot to put pet armor in...)

Brief description of the most interesting bug you have ever found in a video game (doesn't have to be SWG). Sat and watched a guy call out 3 rancors and 4 GSP's with the server line just south of Theed...this was 2 days after the patch that fixed it the first time...also the auto-store, happened tonight again...

Your favorite SWG pet and why it is your favorite. Narglatches...they're a combination of cat and dog, really not sure why I like them so much, I saw one on the loading screen one day and said "I need one of those!" Currently have 5 onthe original Tsiya, and 2 on the new one...

CH Experience: Became a CH sometime in September '03 - can't remember for sure. (Would have been CH much sooner but thought I had to have all 4 trees in scout ). The whole idea of being a CH (who was also a Ranger) going out into the wilderness exploring whilefighting the forces of evil is why I bought this game.

Most interesting bug: Has to be the "disappearing pet" if only because that got me killed/incapped more than once! I've played a lot of rp games (SWG is first on-line game), and I had never seen anything like that.

Favorite Pet: Has to be my Grand Wrix (named, not coincidently, Budo). I just love the attack animation whenhe "pounces" on something and starts swatting at it with his paws! He'ssuch a cool looking pet.Budo was my first "real" pet - he's been with me a very long time. Way back when we still had to use camps, I would call Budo and sit there pretending I was really camping out in the wilds with Budo my trusty companion guarding me. (See my sig, I do say I'm a geek )
