Thread: TH, Rune, JustG or any other Dev: Do you have any clue as to what CH is going through right now?
Pluto has some great points to make but like so many on the boards you need to know thy enemy and how to deal with them. Logical, clear, objective reporting on issues gets attention. The title is all wrong to get Dev attention and is more likely to piss them off and make them move on to another post. I would recommend reading some of the other class forums like smuggler (check out thier designdoc)to get some good ideas on how to work with the devs to get better results.

Autostoring is a bug that is unacceptable. If everyone's weapons were to disappear it would be fixed immediately. Maybe you do not understand that many of us master CH. - This is a vaild point but already a know issue We also push a few skill points into Medic so we can heal pets just a bit faster. Leaving Mastering of another Elite at times tricky or even impossible. Sorry but this is an individual chioce. We have pet stims for a reason. If you were a regular elite you would have the same choice to dabble in medic or not with whatever consequences comes with it.For the Master CH the pet is the primary and often only line of defense. When this disappears it is instant death. I hope there comes a bug for armor to make it disappear. This is a good parallel but keep your arguments together. THe armor disappearanceis a good metaphor but try to make it more of a logic argument and not a "I hope something bad happens to others"I guarantee you will fix it before you fix us. That will be the last set of proofs to show how you do nothing to fix us. NEVER say things like this if you want a response. Its childish and unobjective. Mature well thought out arguments get attention.
We need more defense points in PvE vs creatures. That would at least show that our role is more outdoorsish. That would be a Ranger specific thing not a CH. Its mix and match abilities that they like (always think like a dev to understand the devs). What good what it really do a PvPer build for example? If you are more of a PvE then there is motivation to take Ranger.
We need the rares to not be so rare as they are impossible to acquire with some effort. Umm hello? They are rare! The better point here is there needs to be more tamable wilds that are more worth it and more rare types. This is the old argument of BE vs Wild pets. Wild should offer something that BE can't (the AOEs are a good start) and vice versa. Having only a small handful of these useful rares types though isn't good and more need to be added 300+ lairs is indeed more effort than needed. Again Rare pets. What would be better is we need more types of pets that are scaled versions of the Rares (Rares which should also be more powerful)The benefits do not exceed the burdens of trying to find some rare creature that seemingly has meaningless stats, OTHER THAN a special CH Badge of Perserverance. Now thisis a better arugument.
We need to PvP. Some have been effective in it, while some still have trouble. SOE, your magical combat rebalance has waited long enough. The PvP issue is highly debated amoung CHs. In reality we just need more pet types. Combat rebalance will equalize most of our PvP issues but it isn't a one step process. Fixing Jedi before fixing parts of the game that have been broken and existed before the first Jedi spawned is likely to alienate most classes.Already the outcry against the Jedi Archives shows that you pay way too much attention to just that one class. Fixing the Jedi is part of the Combat Rebalance and this has been stated before. Hologrinding is a bigger hinderince on the entire gameand to the upcoming Rebalance than any one problem with a class. CH's time will come hopefully in Pub 10.1 Correspondent Issues (when they cover the parts of the Top 5 that aren't fixed by the CB).
This new warping bug you introduced in an attempt to keep people from exploiting pathing mobs into harvesters is ludicris. I cannot pass through trees so why should AI mobs? Although an excellent point the grief factor ruins it for everyone. Realistically the pathfinding issue should be fixed by having pets follow the same rules as mobs unless someone can think of a grief I haven't that would prevent this. My pets way too often get awestruck by shiny rocks that they do not go around for anything. You have totally made the system work against CH. Don't be so harsh when you have a GOOD POINT! You want to appear logical and objective so your voice can be heard. MOBs warping 100 meters away to avoid a death blow is going to be a final straw for PvE. This is not a CH specific issue although it does affect us. Make it apply to CH or it seems you are off topic.
Since the GCW is broken by design rather than intention you must also take the blame for that as well. Faction Points should be given to Neutral characters who sell to either Faction. They are not neutral if they live in a player City and only by default sale to Players of one faction. Stay on target...not CH issue.
The non-presence of Hutt Faction is one of the biggest turn offs of this game. I was majorly sore with SOE representing this game has having it only to find it was not present. Stay on target...not CH issue.
Devs you have a big hill to climb. For many of us, it appears that you are hiding away and not listening. Communications are always one sided or non-existent. Some day you will have to account for what is going or what went wrong with this game. You started out good here saying thye have a long way to go but you finish with a version of "When the revolution comes...". This is an appeal to the devs to look at our class that will get attention or its one of the COUNTLESS posts to blow off steam. It all depends on the results you are after.
JTL cannot fix the bugs in the game. All it can do is prove that you are using a philosophy of "if you cannot dazzle em with brilliance..." . Please fix some bugs. I don't know where you got any hint that JTL will fix anything. The CB is suppose to be the big fix. You give no credit for bugs in the game that have been fixed and a direction we can take from there to get the issues we have fixed to further the direction they are going with the game. Its their game and their vision for better or worse.
Two,
I Aced Rhetoric and Reason. If I want a lesson about toned arguments I will retake English 111. You may have started off giving contrsutive criticism but you also took the potshot to call me childish, immature and illogical.
While what is illogical is that I pay 60 bucks a month for 4 accounts while remaining unheard.
HAHAHA,
Wow two.
Pluto is more than right. You dropped the ball. You made a toned response to his frustrations. Yanno maybe he aint the best writer but he tries to keep his stuff strait. He shoulda flamed you. We aint got time for snide people like you. Either you agree there are problems or you dont but at least when most CH's say they are angry they say it. They do not attack the original poster. They just agree and move on.
In this case pluto has more than proven that the Devs are more willing to fix certain problems than fix our own. If you ignore that its your choice. Do not drag us down that road with you. Complacency is excactly what the Devs want.
Meat,
I am very much in favor of pets getting more if we are getting nothing to defend ourselves. My idea for pets getting more would be Babies starting with a base score. That base score would go up certain trees depending on how you played your character. Companion pets that never fight would just stay small babies. Fighting would either develop along two paths that I have thought about, Melee or Ranged. Pets that are sent in to Tank would gain more HAM and/or Resists, keeping base damage. While Ranged would raise their damage but keep base HAM/Resists.
" If you care for your pets and feed them they can grow bigger and stronger than their wild counterparts" - quoted form the SWG Instructions guide.
Has anyone ever seen a pet get bigger or stronger then their wild counterparts? I used to feed and play with my pets every day in the hopes of seeing this but never did.
And Two. Even the Bones that the devs throw us don't work. Special attacks on command were introduced in patch 6 they didn't work till patch 7.2 and posion and disease on command don't work. I reccomend you read my state of the profession thread therein lyes the truth.

I am sorry it read that way. It was aimed at the argument not at you or meant as an attack.

If you are more of a PvE then there is motivation to take Ranger. I guess you are right, I always find my Rancors in the Cantina, Starport or Med Center. We are never outdoors and do not deserve a better PvE bonus. I simply disagree here. The exact same argument can be made for all combat classes. Maybe some different modifier would be in order here like a less likely chance to be aggro'd by mobs? PvE vs creatures wouldn't work since we aren't the tanks...thats the pets job.
Maybe you should read the entire paragraph before critiquing each individual sentence. Rarely does any single sentence contain the entire argument. Granted. I tried to group my comments withing the same subject.

Its their game and their vision for better or worse. Hero, you have not been a CH very long because I can count the "bugs" that were fixed for CH on one had. I was refering to the game as a whole which the Devs have a proven track record of responding to constructive posts.
You do not need to recommend anything to me. Try being a CH a little longer than hologrinding. If the Devs do get irked reading the title and move on then I may have missed my objective. However if they want to understand what is wrong and why SOOOOOOO MANY CH are intolerant of them then maybe they should bother to take a read. You may go back to your smuggler forum now. Hmm I see so if I don't agree with you or haven't been an MCH since beta my opinion doesn't count? So when was the last red name you saw in this forum? Smugglers unlike CHs are getting full input on their class's revamp where CH didn't have that option. Its unfair thatit happened that waybut there is opportunity because the devs are telling them exactly the kind of things they are looking for as far as input and feedback and what they look at and take seriously. Forgive me for reading forums other than this one. I prefer to study how the devs are thinking to learn how to get results with him. I thought the goal was to help the CH class.
Two,
Since you asked, the last two times that a Red Name "wrote" in these posts were in response to threads I started and my fellow CH added. Not to pat my own back, but my writing skills seemed just fine on those occasions.
