Well today is my last day in this game. The list of whats wrong could fill a small box in my oppinion.

1. No overall profession balance not just talking combat. Passive and useful skills are a joke now.

2. Crafting is a joke now.

3. Jedi sick of seeing them I own kotor I do not need a online copy of that.

4. Sick of my professional issues being ignored or being told it will be fixed in 3 or 4 months. I wouldnt buy a broken car and make payments till the dealer decides to fix it why do that for a videogame.

5. Its apparant that all new content will need to be purchased.

6. This is starwars and feals more like magic the gathering. Say what you want but jedi are magic weilders.

7. No storyline, no new goals other then jedi garbage, no community spirit.

8. GCW is an exercise in annoyance rather then a fun divergance. I cannot fight when I want, and I have to sit out for five plus minutes if I die. Why I have no clue.

Needless to say I have had enough the game has ceased to be fun. When comeing on the forums is more fun then the game heh you got a problem. Anywho I seriously doubt what really ales this game will ever be fixed, but there is always a slim hope that somehow this game will actually go back to a semblance of past glory.

Anyway I wanted to thank all the forum members whos company I really enjoyed over the time, and hope you will remember me fondly.

p.s. I am now looking for a new online game is there anything out there that even remotely resembles the original swg. What other games are you guys playing and why are they good in your oppinion?

Bye man, Ill be joining you in a month..

Game wise.... It is like most other MMOGs, but It is ALOT more fun and its anime so it has a different look and feel.

Ragnarok Online.... Made in Korea so NO bug NO lag NO nerfs.. only ADDONS... Yup everything that goes live here works great with no problems.. every profession is fun and useful and you interact with NPCs alot more.. You see the players everwhere you go, TONS of places to hunt, all enemys are mythilogical stuff and things, like if you go to the pyramid you kill the creatures and enemys that spawn there, (bring a group) and the boss enemy is like Osiris and stuff. You can tame almost any monster in the game as a pet... onyl thing is hen it dies it dies.. but you can buy it food and feed it and armor and toys.. you can tame like boss monsters too its sick.. Once you reach level 99 you ctart over again and can go a God profession so you can be really strong... There is PVP arenas and lots of moves... I am a thief going Rouge and a friend is thief going assasin.. check it out its 10 bucks a month, but you have to remember.. no problems or issues.. its not as great as the old swg but its a great time waster.. We need some friends from SWG to play with the bunch of us who left to it.. MY IGN is Nehss in the Chaos Server.

Sorry to see you go. I'm likely to stay as long as the game exists only because I like playing my Wookiees.

Still, the attrition rate is increasing for departures from the game. Only the combat professions are heard and that sucks.

Have fun playing whatever you play in the future.

Iconic professions. Ok. Chewbacca was a Scout. How come that didn't stay?

When you think about it, aren't almost all of the original professions iconic? You can find something on each of them in the Expanded Universe.

I miss being a Ranger. It was more than a profession, it was a virtual way of life. It wasn't for everyone. But those who took it up became family.

This one statement really gave me pause to think. I couldn't help but think "how true is this for many other players?"

I have to admit, I find the forums more fun than the game.

Good luck to you. Here is a take on the games I've been playing, good and bad.

I have not found another game the resembles star wars as far as not being orcs and goblins and wizards with the exception of City of Heros. CoH is much more linear and not nearly as immersive however. There is no crafting whatsoever. There is no community economy to speak of. The game is purely hack and slash to get to the next level. It does work however and it is challenging. The game can be played solo if you enjoy the hard fough win.Grouping is very liquid. You do not have to be in any proximaty or in the same area of a person to invite them to yourgroup. All thatpersonhasto be is online. It is not uncommon to receive a group invitation a few minutes after logging into the game. All the "professions" are needed in a group. A working group has a diverse mix of professions. Travel is nearly instantaneousand there are mission story lines to follow. The graphics are cool. There are realitively few bugs. It's a fun game. There are no "pets" to speak of.

I have a Guild Wars account as well. This game has PvE, PvP,and a very clear story line if you like orcs and magic. The game is balanced and there are very few bugs. There is also no monthly fee to play. Character customization is severly limited. There is a rudimentary community economy to sell looted items. There is no crafting to speak of (you loot resources and give them to an NPC who gives you armor or weapons in return). It is not an immersive game. The missions are instanced. A given mission isexactly the same each and every timeit isrun. As you travel through the world the missions become more difficult with harder mobs to kill and more of them. It is not a game meant to be ground either. A player can max a character template in a very short period of time. Grinders get bored with the game very quickly. The point of the game is not to level a character. It is to explore the world and PvP for guild ranking. Rangers are creature handlers except the "pet" is an ally instead of real pet. Pets attack when the ranger attacks. They will attack a target until it is dead, then move on to another target that is attacking it. There are no pet commands.

I bought a WoW account but haven't played it. From the website and the manual it looks like your typical orc and wizard game.

The game, as a whole has been made less fun. I agree with the part about the forums being more fun than the game. I rarely log in now. I have been spending most of my online time in WOW. Their 'CH' profession is actually good.

SWG had an original feel to it. I liked how the different professions were dependent on each other. Then, for some unknown reason, they started making changes. Anti-decay kits, why get another weapon? With the CU medcens are barren. Medics can no longer heal wounds, just docs and the more numerous Jedi. You no longer have mind wounds, with them taking out BF, no need to ever go in a cantina. It seems like a huge mistake now. The lvl system is too much like a straight jacket.

Vel, the reason is that they have changed the definition of "depend on each other." It used to be in a larger sense, that you can't operate totally in a vacuum. Oh you might be able to solo your mission lairs, but you couldn't do it without armor from the armorsmith, weapons from the weaponsmith, heals from the medic and entertainer, etc, etc, etc.

NOW what they have done is said that "interaction == mission groups." So, you "depend on" each other for the actual mission, but outside of grouping to do missions, you don't ever need to see anyone for any reason (which is why they are taking BF out of the game -- it doesn't fit this model).

Originally SWG interaction fell into many categories... Now, the ONLY kind of interaction they seem to care about promoting is "mission grouping" and all other forms of interaction are being slowly removed from the game.

Yup, pretty much what I said. They took out alot of the need to have 'other' professions. I liked that ineteraction before. Yes, i could moan and groan about looking for some hard to find thing (crafting stations, btw. which were impossible to find.) But it had much more meaning to have to depend on doing other things than just beating the next mutant rancor over its head. You had to find the best place for chef food, spice for those times when it was necessary, spare set of armor, armor repair kit, mind and body buff, good stock of weapons, weapon power ups, and so on and so on.
