Here's the bug:

before publish 7:

- i am master CH
- i tamed 2 cu pa and 2 bantha

- i've let them grow fully

- so i had that:

a cu pa (baby) level 11
a cu pa (baby) level 11

a bantha (baby) level 15
a bantha (baby) level 15

- i trained all commands a master CH could teach to them (even mount)

- publish 7 went live

- i give the 2 cu pa to a non CH player

- he drop them from datapad onto a CH trainer in a player city to lower them to level 10

- we do the same for the 2 bantha

here's the bug:

- the 2 cu pa (level 11) mutated into a non mount-trained (but nomount train possible)kwi (level 10) with a really strange name which was something looks like a filename path

- the 2bantha (level 15)mutated into a non mount-trainedbol (level 10) with a really strange name which was something looks like a filename path

I want my pets back!

I also did that on 2 kaadus (1 male and 1 female fully grown) and level 10 kaadu also with the same strange looking name.

Referring to the holocron in game it's said that pets are traded for a CL10 version of the same specie.

Definitely it's a bug and I don't like to be cheated by a bug. I won't get nervous if it's hotfixed and if I get my pet back in a normal condition.

Actually, I think it's kind of funny. You tried to cheat the system and you got skunked. I see poetic justice here. Wild banthas and cupa were made CH-only for a reason. Makes we Creature Handlers feel a little special. Suck it up and learn from the experience.

That is not a CH bug thats a non-CH bug. Sorry to be callous but it needs to go to Core Systems its likely to get fixed there.

Cheat the system? What do you think pet trade-in is for? I traded in my kaadu and it lost its mount training. I was told they were aware of the problem, but who knows how long it'll take.

I don't think the pet trade-in was designed for people to be able to take creatures they could not ordinarily control and magically turn them into level 10 pets. By your logic, what's to stop someone from having a CH catch a rancor for them and let them turn it in for a non-CH controllable one? Think here. Though I wasn't in the gameat the time. I believe this fix has something to do with "The Great CH Nerf" a few months back. At that time a lot of non-CHs had pets they wouldn't be able to use after the publish, hence the "Pet Trade-In". Also, the above poster listed the "Holocron" ingame help feature as his source of information. This is the same database that doesn't even include banthas and cupa as mountable and states that a CH with Creature Empathy IV can train a pet as a mount. Obviously the database is in need of an update.

Outside of a Bio-Engineered pet, no non-CH should be able to ride one of the new mounts, period. Using the "Pet Trade-In" for anything other than its intended purpose is cheating, plain and simple. I'd be willing to bet there were credits involved here somewhere.

It's very clear you don't know what you are talking about man. The trade in system is made ONLY for pets with a max level between 11 and 15. Its purpose is to give the same pet with lower stats and a CL10 to be used by non CH players. It's the only way to have a non CH wild kaadu for example (you trade a CL12 or 14 male/female kaafu for a CL10 one).

If you don't know what you are talking about, inform yourself then come back to us. The trade in system is not a cheat.

The pet trade-in system was implemented when they made all of the adjustments to creatures, because the CL that non-CH could control was lowered to lvl-10 and they wanted to give non-ch who had higher lvl creatures the ability to trade them for a usable creature. It was not made as a way of lowering a creature's lvl. In some case when you trade in your creature it is substituted with a different creature type that is lvl 10. When the Non-ch traded in the cupa and bantha they were given lvl 10 creatures that they could control. This doesn't look like a bug to me. It is my understanding that the devs put the cupa and Bantha mounts in the game to throw CH a bone. Why would you think that they would let a non-ch circumvent that by trading one in. It seems to me that you tried to be slick and instead you got burned.

Everybody pretty much explains what happened. When you trade in a pet, it will give you the same type of pet back, but changed to level 10 IF that creature exists in the wild at cl10. Since a cu pa and bantha do not exist in the wild at level 10, the trade-in system does what its supposed to do next, it gives you back a CL10 creature (that DOES exist in the wild) that is different from the one you traded in. Hence the Kwi and the Bol.

A friend traded in her beloved peko-peko in the big non-ch nerf and got back a mynoch. How cool was that? She still laments this loss to this day.

The trade-in system was not meant as a creature level lowering machine.

throw CHs a bone ??!!
excuse me but how cheap do the DEVs think we ( the CHs ) are ?

i tamed a few dewbacks that were lvl 11 just to have them traded-in for some friends of mine to have a mount and they exactly got what they asked for: a lvl 10 mounted/mountable Dewback.

it's freaking nuts to accuse someone cheating for he wants to get a pet that he could control.
you can even trade lvl 70 kimos to a Non-Ch so why would the act of trading a lvl 11 cupa and after having it traded-in be cheating.

We're not talking Dewbacks here. They obviously exist in the wild at CL10. Cu Pa and Banthas don't. Wild cu pa and bantha are meant for ONLY ch's thus the "throwing them a bone" statement. After all the changes that affected CH adversely, we were given this unique gift. Why for you poo-poo on it?
