Thread: The new mounts: Will they be in demand at all?

Do you guys think the Bantha and CuPa mounts will be in demand all after the new patch? I got a bunch growing in my datapad to sell after the next patch.

I'm hoping they might sell half way decent simply for the "new, novelty" factor.

Thoughts?

Yes, but you won't be making anymore than you are now for mounts. It won't be like the first wave of mounts where they were selling for millions by the end of the night. However on my server BEs have already begun price gouging cl.10 cu-pas and banthas at around 20-25k each when before the announcement came out they were selling for around 2-3k.

Wild cu pas and banthas won't generate much demand at all.

The days of wild mount buying ended a week after the mount publish. It was a glorious week for CHs, many fortunes were made. But it's long gone.

Some of the non-CHs will probably go for the BE CL10 and below bantha and cu pa skin creations, for the coolness factor. I fully intend to mount my wasteland cu pa that night and ride it through the streets of Coronet, Theed, and Mos Espa just to be doing it. But that will wear off quickly because the novelty lasts, barely, through Sunday of the weekend following the publish.

If i'm out hunting i always use my mount, i can just hop off and go on a killing spree without the worry of something chewing on my speeder when i'm busy killing something else.

But i can't see you making much money from them.

in a word no.

no more than mounts currently are.
why have a mount when a bike needs no skills and with the travel exploit a fix is a simple shuttle trip away (gone is the benefit of a mount not being able to be destroyed)

Given what I was told when I asked about non-CH'ers as it relates to the new mounts, the answer would be no by default, because the only way they can get them is by way of buying BE-made versions. All the current versions of both creatures are higher than CL10, so execpt for the notion of training there'd be no market for us whatsoever unless they put in 'lesser banthas' and the like.

Now I think they will, jus' this week I've had 3 ppl askingfor mounts. I think once the devs fix the shuttle repair bug on vehicles we will have more folks looking for mounts. Although its not like we could make money on it or anything. Wish they woul bring back the non-Ch lvl 15 pets. Then we could make some money

How exactly are you going to provide them for him unless he and his entire guild are CH's themselves? Or are you a BE?

I really doubt it. I was really thinking about mounting a Bantha but after I heard how slow they moved there's really no point to waste a spot where a nice pet could go in my data pad.

Actually their speed was increased based on feedback. They cruise right along now.

I belive mounts will make a come back soon...

1) When the speeder bug is fixed and speeders start to breakdown and blow up, you will need a new speeder and many peoplewont be ableto afford to buy one all the time. Making mounts a good choice.

2) Riding a bantha will look so cool.

3) And if they bring areas were you cant use your speeder, mounted pets will be needed.

I know I'm gonna get flamed for this but no speeders in a city might be nice. Maybe, I dunno. Perhaps not?

Yes I'm a BE, but I'm and MCH first and foremost.

Actually you might find more interest in banthas and cu pas than you would expect. Banthas were the most looked forward to mount when mounts were still in development, and now that they'll be an option some people will buy them just so they can have them. It doesn't matter if they're really slow, already a mounts speed is negligable compared to vehicles.
