Been playing the game since last august and been master ch since last september.. This is my conclusion; CH in and of itself is not uber and should not be uber. the reason i say this is because it is a support class your pets shouldnt be all mighty killing machines because this profession allows you to master any elite combat class to compliment. (not hybrids like bh or commando). I have been a master rifleman/CH, master Tk/ch and now working on master pistol/ch. You never need buufs if you know how to play the class because your pets take all the damage while you step back to 8m and kill. Because you have these huge pets you can take large missions and acrue the weapon and combat exp much faster than anyone without these tanks. To top it all off i usually have some novice medic and entertainer skills to keep myself healthy.

Bottom line is that I believe Master CH is the ultimate compliment class whatever your other skill is and just plain makes game play much much much easier than non-ch. Currently working on my 12th profession (doin the silent holo grind) and have to say if it werent for ch id be lucky to be working on number 7.

With any luck I'll unlock soon or they will change the system soon as i would hate to give it up finally just to master those 4 proffs (bh/comando/cm/smuggler) that would make me drop ch..

Just my opinion and a wake up for all those who cry... we have been nerfed. Drop CH and then see how helpful it really was.

1, I've never cried we as CH'ers have been nurfed to the point of uselessness... But seeing how I have now maxed out CH exp and TK exp becuase of a month's worth of fruitless "rare" baby hunting... I'm to the point where moving on sounds good.

2. As a master TK I rarely use my pets in combat anymore, they slow me down so I wouldn't notice that mutch of a difference if I drop CH, other then I wouldn't be able to call anything above a cl 10 mount.

3. I've mastered medic, scout, pistoleer, marksman, Creature handler, TK, so in fact I'm working on my seventh.... but the skill I know I need to work on (**gag** Armorsmith**Gag**) I'll never do unlessI am so boredI loose my mind.

Just to add to this cause I cant edit my post... I'm not saying your fault out wrong, there are some points I agree with atleast on some levels. Just that I atleast feel that you could be stronger, kill more, and live longer in alot more cases usesing other combat skills as support. If you want to say ch is about being a support class then I would honestly place ch as the weakest support and more limiting support class as the moment. I just cant see spending those points on chif I wanted a great support class whenI could have more medic skills and be a doctor... be another melee or rangeprof and have more weapons, attacks, and defenses. Sure all classes are not suppose to be the same and have there adv and disadvantages... I just think the ch should have atleast alittle more advtaged when compared to other combinations and as a stand alone class. It could still be in last place as a suppurt class overall but it just needs something more.

I hear this theme a lot now....that CH is not even useful as a support class for combat anymore. But I was more than halfway to MCH when I started to hear this. So I'll just have to find out for myself. I'm about to master CH(probably tonight), and I'm already a master rifleman. I'll give it a go for a few weeks. I have top of the line pets ready to go and everything. If it turns out that CH is useless, and my pets just get ripped to shreds too quickly to make an impact, I'm going Heavy Swordsman instead as a compliment.

Wow Miq,

Let me try to explain this with the ladder analogy already presented. Let us say that CH is a ladder it can help you get to higher places. In your case, new professions. That is like using a short ladder to reach the top of a cabinet in your house. Your house being easier short term goals. Frankly, a TKM or Brawler could have been your ladder. And in most cases groups do not want to use the CH ladder. It fails often and the bugs make it buckle and sway often in the course of combat. Pets autostoring and running away affect way to many people in groups. But I digress, let us say the same ladder is now being used to pick the top fruit from the trees. TKM by itself without pet use can obtain these fruits for you. Soloing Bull Rancors is something a TKM can do without breaking a sweat. If a pet runs on Dathomir you have will find that you get way more agro and a much more difficult time at killing. TKM do not autostore either.

You are missing the boat if you say that you can do more because of pets. You can only do one thing better because of pets and that is solo. Try soloing Dath with pets. I have duoed there with my in games friends a few times. People chase pets way too often and do no give the CH a chance to /tellpet follow and /tellpet attack to get them back in range. Some of the reasons they run are meant to be. Others are not. Attack range bug. Running when dizzied bug. Theres a tree beside me so the pet needs to run further out to swing bug. These are the issues. To confuse them or make them any less because you can do one set of things better solo, does not mean the rest of us do not have problems.

So in closing, your post is not as informative as you might think. Our CH pets used as a ladder will not earn you the greater rewards of other classes. The combat rebalance was supposed to help level the playing field and now in their ininite assninity SOE has cancelled it until further notice. So this means not only will other classes remain more uber but we will still continue to suck in the other arenas of the game. PvP is dead for CH's. Soloing can be done. Not as easy as other class combos. We want to see things better, not uber, better.

Oh and Miq,

There are plenty of non-CH that use specials to heighten their characters effectiveness. A smuggler friend did Act3 solo. Little cat dizzies for him, then he KD's. NPC never get back up. Dizzy+KD=dead. Pure and simple. You do not have to be MCH to make this happen. Any of the currently broke BE pets give any non-CH the same advantage of the MCH. They use less skill points plus defense stack. That is where the issues are at this point in the game. Can MCH be effective? Yes. If by effective you mean it helps you some. If you mean effective in I can solo anything by being MCH alone, then no. MPistoleer, TKM, virtually anyone but MCH can do anything they want alone. With buffs and the correct armor especially.

I have a staff user who has mastered CH and has a good bit of medic. I can say for sure that CH is a great complement to a class that used to miss so often.

How good is the team up? I'm on Endor now and I had little to no problem taking care of marauders. Had I don't that with just my TKM/Smuggler I would have found myself in the cloning center.

Hmm... interesting post. Dont worry I dont flame or give you a 1 star rating for voicing your thoughts. Cant say I argee as being a master of one of the melee prof gives you more defenses and you dont have a pet stealing the exp. I could clearly do the other combat prof. easier withouta petstealing the exp. I've felt the loss of defenses alot more then the loss of pets. As far as ch being were it should be.. I cant argue against that point to greatly but... A tkm (less skill points then a ch) is far stronger when buffed and it still allows him clearly to master other professions if thats your only strong point it not nearly good enough. Not saying Ch should be uber and have a bunch of defenses and all that jazz... but it does need something else added to the table then what currently is there. Sadly no ideas of a good fix come to mind and untill the combat balance comes (most likely months way) who knows how it will end up.

So in other words those of us who have no desire to pick up an elite combat skill should just lie down and die? Hate to burst your bubble but not every CH wants to be uber, just decent. Now, how about you get off your high horse and go cry to your mommy that you do not, in fact, know everything.

There is no way you can possibly be serious about this...so I'm going to assume this is a joke-ish post and do the following: /laugh

I think you missed the point... I was a master ch AND master TK at the same time.. thats a whole lot of power and never taking damage means i can kill far longer without a rest. as for them stealing xp... they dont do nearly as much damage as you or I with out chosen weapon.

You guys just dont get it.. Do you not realise that the ONLY other proffesions that you cant have and be master ch at the same time are BH, Commando and CM.. all just fine on there own.. the point was that it makes one heck of a compliment to ANY of the other profs.

Actually I agree with him. Stacking professions for mods is one thing, stacking professions and geting both damage output at once is another.

I think CHs should need to hold a glorified laser pointer or some such to direct their pets to attack. That way they can't use a weapon at the same time and the pets can be re-rebalanced to greater effect.
