hey i was wondering a few things:

1) Is CH still a decent prof and is it any fun?

2) What is a good supporting prof to do with CH?

I am wondering becuase i am planning on doing CH and just want to know if its worth it and how to support it.

Thanks

If your goal is to be "uber", then CH is not for you.

CH is a fun profession, but if your focus is on combat, particularly PvP, the skillpoints you invest in CH are not going to help you. CH is really something you do if you love the critters, and are content with PvE combat.

ok in my view

1. yes CH is still a fun profno one else can fight critters unbuffed like we do (wimps)

2. as for me its pistols all the way i had fun with them plus if you want you can pick up master marksman then get BH pistol tree for the added speed and acc. plus eye shot at master pistoleer is a killer

3. pistoleer keeps you in good range of your pets to heal them if they start getting hit too hard

There are as many schools of thought about the complimentary combat profession as there are CHs. I think that pets are pretty good for holding aggro, allowing you to take potshots at the target with the ranged weapon of your choice. Your job in combat is to deal damage; the critter's job is to keep the enemy busy while you do so. Still, TK skills work good with pets too, as even low level TKs are in some ways better tanks than pets, particularly if you're buffed, even more so if you're wearing ubese or composite with high kinetic resists.

If you are planning on running unbuffed and unarmored, I would suggest any ranged profession, or Swordman.

I've tried TKM and Pikeman with MCH while unbuffed. As TKM, I got ate up too much cause the attacks were not high enough with just normal attacks. Pikeman was just too slow.

With Ranged, you can take pot shots at stuff from a distance, even with pistol, and use the occasional special with out having to worry about them coming after ya. I found with a good power hammer, swordman can hit some heavy damage, due to most stuff do not have a high blast resist. But that's just my observation.

I'm down with Master Rifle/Master CH. I works great. I like ranged weapons cos it has a much greater star wars feel. Secondly I don't have to rely on buffs if I get stuck out in the wild. As long as I have my laser rifle I never need buffs, if I go with a high HAM weapon like a T21 or DXR-B then I'm safe as long as I have some brandy and won-won with me.

Conclusion: I love Master CH/Master Rifle/Tracking.

I think CH is as others have stated a great prof if you love the critters I have always been ch and have only mastered one other elite profession which is ranger I think ch can be really buggy and a kind of lonely profession but it is a great profession for pve I tend to be one of those who get somewhat attached to havin my critters with me so I love it right now I am also a master ranger and novice pistoleer but am thinkin of going to rifle and taking back my medic skills which are extremely useful as they can help keep you alive in this somewhat isolated profession I personally relish that particular build since it helps me avoid what I've always thought was a problem with this game the way it seems they try to "force" relationships through dependance upon others but it hurts ch at present since in my experience people tend to think of having a ch accompanying them as "baggage" nowadays anyway I love MCH will most likely be that for life but just wanted to point out some of the things I think may become a little familiar to those of us who tend to solo
