Creature Handler:

Q: What specific changes will the development team be making between now and the rest of the combat rebalance to mitigate the serious negative impact on the CH profession, and does this include the much requested "everything under CL 70has at least achance to spawn babies" change that the tamers in particular have eagerly awaited.

TH's A: Any specific changes made to the CH profession will actually be seen as a result of the Combat Balance, but not necessarily part of it. Back in November, the galaxies creatures were all rebalanced as part of a preliminary combat balance effort. Once all the other professions are balanced against the same mathematical benchmark, the Creature Handler’s combat effectiveness will be much more in line with player expectations. As far as the “baby spawns”, that is a different issue but we are working to fit that into the development schedule under the “Correspondent Issues” for Mini Publish 10-1.

So, it appears that the outcry over the indefinite postponement of the combat rebalance has had a positive effect: the devs realize that their previous position was untenable, and they're going to go through with it as originally planned.

Or at leat that's what the nerfherders are saying today.

No answer on babies, btw. TH ducked that half of the question, saying that something might happen two-three months down the road in a mini publish after pub 10.

I'm not seeing how TH "ducked the question." They're working to fit it into the "Correspondent Issues" mini-publish. i.e. They acknowledge it is a needed fix and are attempting to accomodate us. Sounds like good news, to me.

Reading through all the questions and answers, Vert, I'll grant you that it was an answer, but one of THs vague and nebulous ones that are all PR speak and no real meat.

Still, we're marginally better off than the CMs, who specifically asked about the vulnerablity of a CM when he's in the middle of an animation and TH ignored that half of the question completely.

The SLs got "yeah, we know it does nothing you can detect, and the combat rebalance should fix that" to their question of what does rally do besides kill harvesting and rezzes.

What they failed to acknowledge was that we were the first part of the combat rebalance and have been left dangling in the wind while they work on the rest of them. It all should have been done at the same time. As it is, we are the only ones to get screwed like that. His answers didn't really offer us anything. Once again, we will be left with the short and pointy end of the stick.

Ha Ha Ha! Classic, simply Classic!

So yeah, he did acknowledge that CH is screwed until the "Combat Rebalance" is done. Its funny. Its already May, and it will be mid June before Publish 9 is finished and implimented. So that leaves all of July for them to do the comabt rebalance. That will take roughly 2 months. So CH will be viable after nearly 7-8 months of total crap. From December to September CH will have been the most useless class in the game. Utterly rediculous. Its a joke, really i don't how you guys can put up with it.

um...is everyone forgetting this response from TH on February 10th to our outcry about creatures not spawning babies? Also, keep in mind this was before the fix to the "tamable" listing in the examine window, which occured shortly thereafter...however, my point is, he never accepted/acknowledged/notified the fact that we are correct and that issue needs fixed:

Vertexon had mentioned this to me. At this time I'm not going to assume that they are truly extinct, but I will speak work with the producers to find out if anything might be wrong. If it is simply a matter of these creatures spawning too rarely, Ill see if anything can be done.

My grades are up in the 19 Questions thread ... TH dropped from 10 clear answers out of 19 last week to 4 this week ... truly a disappointing performance.

Given that his answers to most of the questions posed were very vague, and given that anything any of the devs say must be treated with great skepticism until it's actually seen in the game (and those are two very important givens), I thought that the CH answer was at least somewhat encouraging. While we don't know exactly how we will stack up after the Combat Balance, it did seem like a pretty clear admission that yes, the profession was nerfed very hard, combat-wise, and that our relative combat effectiveness does need to increase. Had we ever even gotten an admission from them before that "yes, you were made too weak"? It's a start anyway. I know some will say a start's not enough, we demand to be fixed now, but the devs just don't work like that and never will. Save your energy, wait for the CB if you have the patience to, or take a break or quit if you don't. Just my feelings on the matter.

JustG and TH saying the combat rebalance is coming in 10 is atleast some news with weight to it. Meat? This team keeps everything secret, some of that is for real reasons I would suppose. None of them want to say something they can be held to months later. LOL. I guess considering my own expectations I will not be blaming them.

Taming is the same non-answer as always. Unfortunately. I wish we could keep the breeding cycles thread going I believe that is the perfect example of what is needed. But with that in mind it takes a long time for lare mammals to gestate so even then there may be a small flurry of rares once a year even if it were to happen at all.

You know what guys, when i worked on the farm and BS got that high we usually got a fork and moved it outa the barn and onto the field. That way the whole farm stunk instead of just the barn.

TH and the rest of the Devs have piled the BS so high I am surprised the stink hasn't caused them to gag on their computers, then again maybe it has.

....and then no matter how hard we get nerfed, we still keep CH because we are still some of the coolest characters on the game.
