Thread: The CH 19 Questions question and answer, live from the In Live board
I just think that being made ineffective for a period of probably about 6 months compared to other professions deserves some sought of recompense. Just saying that we know your nerfed but that we'll be inline with the combat rebalance eventually is just not good enough.
Thanks Vert we all know your trying, keep at it.
"Back in November, we decided to screw you and your profession by nerfing it and your pets into oblivion. Maybe someday when (if) we do a combat rebalance you'll be a viable profession again. Until then just deal with it because we (I) don't like you."
"Baby spawns? Didn't I already tell you I'd look into it so you'd be happy and keep playing the game even though we really don't plan on doing anything about it?"
That's what I read...

Sounds like good news for PvP, but that's of little consequence to me. The Nerf also affected CH in PvE, and nothing is being done to CH to actually improve it or address any of thenumerous other concerns our profession has. Oh, well, I still like being CH.
I think the idea is thatPvE for a CHis closer to the target than many of the current FotM templates. In other words, players are not supposed to be soloing Nightsister Elders, the Corvette, etc. At least that's how I read it.

Vert, that's how I'm interpreting it as well.
The problem here is that CH has been forced to the new baseline for the last four months, while everyone else is merrily soloing things that we can't even dream of taking on by ourselves with pets doing the tanking, because, like the prey, they're just too fragile to stand up to whatever combat skills we may also bring to the table. Taking on creatures and NPCs is just too easy, even for n00bies, because they've all been "rebalanced" before any of the damage dealing of the players has been.
Instead, the smart thing to do is leave the pets on the datapad, visit your friendly local doctor for a set of buffs, put on your 80% base composite, and go out and tank high end content yourself WITH NO DEFENSIVE SPECIALS AT ALL.
I did this last weekend with a moncal toon in pretty good ubese and soloed gualama lairs with only marksman skills to deal damage. EVERYTHING I took on conned red to me. I did this with NO doc buffs and regular self administration of stimBs. When I did it with doc buffs and 80% composite, a bite of synthsteak and not even to bothering to stim myself it was just as easy, and with slightly less advanced marksman skills.
When the rebalance hits, there are going to be a lot of very upset players. They're going to have to basically relearn the game, and I don't think many of them are up to Yoda's dictum: "You must unlearn what you have learned".

Its sad and pathetic that some of you are actually enthuesed by his answer. Its a slap in the face. Hes telling you that you got straight up nerfed, and you will stay that way for atleast 3 more months. CH is a nerf magnet and the only reason you aren't getting nerfed now is cuase they spent so much time nerfing you in the past. Every publish up to pub 6 had a major CH nerf. They just got sick of dealing with the nubs screaming for CH to be crap, they got it and it will stay that way, period. If this combat rebalance happens and CH is viable again you'll see the nerf cries again. And you know they will listen, they always have when it deals with CH. This class is a joke and frankly will stay that way. I'm embarrased to have kept MCH for as long as i did after pub 5. I could've been out there soloing krayts during those 3 months.
MCH makes Master pike look like the biggest FOTM tehre ever was. Which is quite sad given that MPike is a joke in itself.
Vert,
I do not think you will directl disagree but to give what Sio is saying a little more background my friend did Act3 solo with a non-CH BE pet. I pulled out pets in every combo and could not solo it and now have lost any chance at an Act3 Badge. This tells me that something is wrong when everyone else was soloing it and now CH is locked out from mouch content. Mandalarian Armor is not wearable by we CH (nor do I think it should be). Our content is in the babies itself which is a non answer. We have been denied major content by the nerf considering everything. Forced grouping is the major flaw SOE came up with in EQ and it will also detract from SWG if it continues along the same lines.
TH has stated a pet should be equal to an additional party member in the past. I guess my next question of CH if he were to ask more of these is "What exactly is the role of a PET itself in the eyes of SOE?"

TH's A:As far as the “baby spawns”, that is a different issue but we are working to fit that into the development schedule under the “Correspondent Issues” for Mini Publish 10-1.
