Thread: New Pet System On Test Center: Results & Information Please!
This thread is here to gather and share information about the all-new CH system. Anyone who has a Test Center Creature Handler and tries out the new system PLEASE post here!
Some guideline questions:
- What special attacks are available? What are they called and what do they do? Are they useful? What pets have which attacks by default? Do they seem to work reliably in combat situations? Did you try them in PvP and PvE?
- What stats can you change on your pets? Were you able to adjust your pet's Health, Damage, Speed, anything? By how much? Did it seem useful?
- What is the overall impression you get of the new system? Is it useful? Does Creature Handler seem better for the changes? Do you feel like you are more viable in combat now, and do you think people will desire to be a creature handler more than they did previously?
Feel free to add any of your own comments about the system or neat things you discover. Please don't troll in this thread, only post here if you have information to share. Thanks!
I could be wrong, but I dont think we will see all this system has to offer for a while, even when its live, the potential is so huge.
Specials, I was getting 1 in 3 babies tamed having an innate ability. That was just random tames across talus, dantooine and dathomir to ensure a variety of levels , all creatures were different species. I got 6 out of 18 tames with abilities.
Im still not sure how abilities are determined, whether by species or random, its going to need much more data to work that one out I think.
As far as the abilities I found, Im still unsure as to the effects of some, as there are a few that only trigger in certain circumstances (like when the health drops to near death etc), so it takes a while of using a pet before you can see what is actually happenning.
when I know for sure what does what, I will post a list of my findings.
I would make my first comment as follows, what it does is give us content. To make a pet unique by giving it new abilities, you must find and use other creatures that have the ability you want, pets actually get stronger as they are used, and functionality, particularly in agro managment , which is the most obvious ability benefit, is greatly improved.
Currently they havent converted exisiting pets, so I cannot comment on the effects, although Im sure once this system is running smoothly they will run conversion code, and then we can comment in more detail.
My honest opinion, a great step forward, and brings CH back to life in many ways.
as far as i read the notes, the pets will be small after the tame and grow when gaining "pet XP" during combat. does this mean a CH have to use a low level mountable creature in combat to make it grow enough for mount - and is the xp a pet receive during combat calculated on its CL or on the CL of the CH? (can a CuPa gain XP and grow by fighting CL12 wrixes or only by fighting mission mobs at CL80 if the CH is CL80).
just interested if we need to invest some hours of grinding to make a pet mountable.
Here is a few things i belive are true, but still in Theory mode till confirmed by others.
1) Pets xp is earned by the pet fighting any thing equal or higher CL to the pet. Not the players CL. So a CL15 pet will earn xp on anything CL15 or higher, so a CL80 CH can find any mob to work.
2) Not all pets with the new Abilities can learn them from training. Its a passive skill they will use on their own, and not commandable.
3) With each level of xp growth, so far i have heard 7 levels, the pet will gain Training Points, and Trainable Abilities. Not sure how they work yet.
Sigh I went to test center to try it out unfortunately my ch was used on the CU testing, and either its gone or I know not what. I got the system for it and it works fine, but it looks like it would take weeks to get into ch to even test stuff out. Anyone know if the bluefrogs are still in so I can test the changes?
I was on for 30 minutes and couldnt find a blue frog is there a command to do it? If so could someone post it would love to test this stuff out, but well as total noob that would take some time to get there to test anything out.
The following is a list of Abilities that my pets have -
- Frenzied Blitz (L1)
- Vigorous Health (L1)
- Aggresion (L1)
- Precision Strike (L1)
I don't have the option to train a command for any of these abilities, so I am going to guess that they are passive abilities.
Aggression is the only ability that I see having any effect, at this time. Once I have learned one of the Abilites, I'll try to see if it increases any stats when I /train it to another pet.
Still present and still seem to respond like they do on Live.

One thing I've been meaning to ask, is /emboldenpet and /enragepet still going to be in our set of abilities?
Datapad info on Brackaset at time of screen shot above.
Datapad info on hermit spider at time of screen shot.

On the KD special, it never worked before the CU either with any pets.
