Thread: What happen on Talus?
For over the last week i have gone to Talus trying to locate my old favorite great sludge panther but no such spawns. The spawns are permanent on what wildlife is there, attempted to do a drive by to respawn a site, but the hits points on the animals always stayed the same.
It is very sad to see this planet the way it is now, i used to hunt for many pets there long ago. I believe since they raised the spawns on Dant they have taken away the ones on talus, even the water in various areas doesnt move, but also Tat has very few spawns now.
What can we do?
I think we all know what's going on pretty much.
Spawn patterns have been balanced to cater to the hordes of wanna-be jedi grinding endlessly in spin groups. Their voracious appetites for large level 80+ lairs to burn through have caused the developers to cut back on natural spawns so that the landscape around certain grinding areas can be littered with grinding fodder. Those mission lairs never spawn babies.
This caters to jedi and wanna-be jedi who have a large collective voice. This strategy of devoting server resources to grinders means other parts of the planet become barren. This has a crippling effect on creature handlers, but the collective voice there is but a whisper in comarison to those with pony-tails and robes.
The jedi in grinding areas also seem unhappy when creature handlers are in the area, because many CH hunt with their pets ungrouped, and the jedi say this gives them visibilty and gets them on the terminals. So, grinding groups don't like to allow CH to group their pets because it ties up player spots, but get upset if the pets are used ungrouped as they will be visited by bad Mr. bounty hunter as a result.
In short, many of the recent game changes with jedi in mind work against the creature handler.
I think (please don't quote me on this) that creature spawns are based on activity in the area. So Dathomir (which gets hammered by FS guys) is always busy, where as Talus is not... try killing whatever critters u can for a bit to increase the spawns.
I seem to remember this has been tried and tested with the scarce static spawns around the cities....

So its all Jedi's fault, right. Do you forget the aakuan missions people were running fro skill tapes. Oh and how about credit farmers, isee them all the time. But what do i know jedi ruins everyhting in the game. Getting down on players playing the game is just idiotic, and its 32 meters for vis. Imagine if you tamed a stoneskin but uh oh a BH kllled you, you dont get your stoneskin, Its 32 meters flying by to just get them vis is rude. Are there dumb jedi players, yes, are there dumb CH players yes. Here's a question for your logic why does dantooine have so many wild spawns within 3k of the mining outpost? becasue people in an area actually generate spawns.
on Rori its nearly the same now. i have to ride 3k from the reb outpost to my city there and havent saw a single creature in days now. thou Rori always seemed to be kind of deserted, some weeks ago there were still wild lairs in the area.

Pull your head out man.

actually he is right.. grinding CAUSES spawns to increase... so in a way the jedi help. What causes the decrease is no activity and player citys and houses. Remember back in the day when you couldnt find a wild Great Plains Stalker you would start going around the spawn area killing wild spawns to force spawn one. BUT certain increased spawnsa do however effect some wild spawns. For instance when they increasd krayt spawns, It became alot harder to tame a wild dune boar.
If 500 players are grinding around 1 town, the mission lairs they generate will consume a lot of the possible spawns for that planet. That grinding area will also get a number of static spawns as a result of that activity. One player who finds a wild spawn far from that areacan try to wipe out that spawn to trigger more, but it is an uphill battle. It is not the fault of players who are grinding, but the nature of how server loads get optimized that cause our problems. If players didn't all congregate in certain grinding areas, forming pick-up groups would be very hard... go to Restuss or Narmle now and try to form a full group to grind with as an example. So, players go to certain places to grind in groups, those areas get most of the server attention, other areas get de-emphasized. It is a fact, and there is no easy solution to it given the goals of much of the player-base. The point is that CH is impacted by it.

even before i realized that when i destroyed a lair on Talus there were seldom a repawn. therefore i usualy did my pet search directly after server restart when there were plenty of lairs. the more time left after a restart the less lairs i could find.
now it looks like the servers dont do total restarts, but start at the point where they set off. and as there were no lairs on talus then there will be no lairs on Talus after restart.
