I'm STILL lost about the 30 second timer. Was that ever resolved?

To add to your message, last night, I found myself actually telling my critters what to do, spatially. For the first time ever (for me) /tellpet didn't work at all. Which is beyond annoying because I, like others, have it built into the macros, so I can command my critters silently.

To troubleshoot, I first checked for the space before the macro and removed it. Still didn't work. Then, I deleted and re-created the macro. Still didn't work. Finally, I just typed the /tellpet commands, and it STILL didn't work. Grrrrrrr......

Fortunately, I didn't get the autostore bug very much, or I'd be feeling far less patient. *grin*

On the /tellpet problem...I noticed that it was more of a macro bug. I would hit the macro, nothing, hit the macro, nothing. Then if it typed /tellpet <command>, it worked. After that the marco would work again. Just frustrating to to have to retype the /tellpet command when you are trying to get your pet to do something in the middle of a fight.

I"ve used the macro, then /tellpet in the dialog box, and both have not worked.

Then I issue the command in spatial, and the pet does what it's been ordered to.

This is a very random bug, in my experience. /tellpet once worked flawlessly for me, either in the macro or issued in in the chat box. Now it's a 50/50 thing.

what are you useing for commands? single character commands have never worked in tellpet as far as I'v seen. for example /tellpet a never works but /tellpet attack does. that is a bug as far as I'm concerned but its nothing new. I'v always used full words in my commands and never had a problem with tellpet. as for the autostoring I still get this from time to time myself usaly near server boundries but nowhere near as bad as befor. I used to have to recall pets every time I crossed one cause they would stop and shortly autostore, now it only happens when a fight is very near one.

To Upgrade something implies that you are adding too, enhancing, and fixing the thing that you are upgrading. The CU does not do this, it is not adding too, enhancing, or fixing the combat system that is in place, it is replacing the innovative SWG system with the generic one used by its competitors. Be honest and stop calling it the CU, Call it the CR (combat replacement) instead

With the impending 30 sec timer I feel we need something done with a couple of the current bugs. I died twice this weekend with these bugs. Its no longer a nusance, its gamebreaking to me. All I ask is for 2 things to be fixed. I don't feel I'm asking for the world, especially with the 30 sec timer coming.

1) Auto-store bug - I don't know if its me but this weekendmypets disappeared about 10 times. Usually I only have this problem once or twice a week but now its almost everyday (over the weekend it was 3 times a day). Something needs to be done. Its not only killing me but my whole group that is suddenly left without the meatshield while the Vort Hunters kill all of us. If CH is only good for a shield, having them disapear in battle is gamebreaking. Imagine a bounty hunter fighitng then suddenly his pistol auto stores in his backpack and cant be equiped until he stops fighitng.

2) /tellpet is bugged - For a while all I heard from non-ch and some ch is use /tellpet to command my pets since they can't ignore spatial chat. I gave in and to my surprise I like it much more. I now have macro's set up using /tellpet for everything. Well the new bug is /tellpet breaks in the middle of hunting. My pets no longer listen to my commands and stand there licking themselves. Either I have dumb animals or another great tool for CH is now borked. When this happens I have to train them to attack with "a", its getting to the point I'm starting to hate calling my pets to do battle because I have to waist time retraining everything or change my macros. Why should I have to do this?

True, these are not new bugs but they are increasing in frequency, especially last week. I would like to think the new patch is going to fix these problems but lets face it, the patch will only introduce new bugs and the horrid 30 sec timer. I now the devs are busy creating cool ATAT's and making new gardens but how about they fix problems that have been around for7 months. I'm trying to convince myself CH is worth the trouble but these bugs are killing me, literally.

I use full words in commands, like /tellpet attack and frequently during, that's during fights it ceases working. And strangely it's only with those pets I have out at that time. If I store and call the same pets everything starts working again. Crazy.

It seems that the "trickle" patches are adding to our woes. As Act II was rolling out I noticed the same complaints. This was my own observations, feedback from folks in game and on the boards. After Act II was fully in things got generally better. Now that the "Crackdown" is being spoon fed to us we're seeing the same results. It's a half assed way to roll out an update IMO. Especially if this is going to be the results.

My commands in my macro are at least 4 letter words. I am a very experienced MCH, I know what I'm talking about when I say the bugs are worse today then they were 1 month ago, heck even 2 weeks ago. The devs have done something that has made these bugs more frequent.

Yesterday I played after work. This is how it went:

Group with a friend and go Vort Hunter killing (I've noticed these bugs happen much more when grouped with another player). We get to the lair. I use attack macro "Kill!!!" to start the fight. 5 seconds into it Pet1 has left the group, 15 secs later pet2 has left the group. This was my first battle yesterday! Of course my friend and I have to burst run seeing we have no buffs. I set up my camp and recall my pets. Oh but wait now my macro doesn't work. OK, so I try typing manually /tellpet Kill!!!. That doesn't work. Finally I retrain my pet to attack using "a" so I can do it easy in spatial, what do you know it works.

I know the bug your talking about using one letter commands for /tellpet, this is something completely different and new. You said auto-storing happens from time to time, well if you had it happen 2-3 times in a 3-4 hour play session, do you consider that frequent. I do, especially when I die 2 times. Maybe it is a server boundary issue but if thats the case my city has boundaries N,S,E, and W within 1k meters. Maybe I should just move the city so I can play without bugs.

Though I have had Many issues with /tellpet in the past it seems to have gotten better except for Very recently. I had to reboot last night to get tellpet to work. I thought it was my BE pet they sometimes dont work 100% either for me, but it was all of them. Ugghhh

I think Garioc hit it on the head, though it doesn't make a lot of sense. Since I started to get the publish 6 stuff last week, these bugs are more frequent. Working on BE samples, I've developed a newlove ofburst run because either the bike is gone or the pet that I had out for backup suddenly disappears.

Tellpet's more random. I use multi-letter single words; when it works, it works either in macro or spatial. When it doesn't, it doesn't work either way but the command typed in spatial works fine.

The 30 second rule, if implemented with the autostore bug, the stuck pet bug, and the runaway bug will be a breaker for me in this profession. Not to say it's that much different than calling a camp, except slower. As a group hunter, I'm the only one that needs a camp before a mission. Then if the camp builder gets aggroed, it doesn't exist anymore. It's a time sink and a mess. If the pets did what they were supposed to, I really wouldn't need a camp unless I want to change pets.

Both of these items were in the list of issues presented to TH. I sent him another communication over the weekend that also included these items.

i use full words and i get that bug too. it just stops working for no apparent reason. very annoying to have to start typeing out the commands by hand to get the pet to behave till i can store and re-call it. the other nite my /tellpet follow; macro just stopped working and i had my chat switched over to group and a krayt chewing on my gurreck. i couldnt call him back and by the time i realized that i was in group chat and not spatial and switched over to using /shout follow; he was dead and lost vitality.

this bug affects single letter and full word commands. altho the single letter users are more often affected.
