title says it all.

My answer is an easy NO. they take too long to grow to mountable and then you end up trying to find someone interested in one (who then thinks they are too weak and goes off to buy a uber BE pet, then discovers buffs work better....... but I digress)

Um yeah anyone?

talon,

I just picked up 3 spats tonight. Since the Nerf I have spent my extra hours normally reserved for CH hologrinding. Now that I am in the Cantina I have had tells asking to train mounts 5 times. Two of those 5 times I was tipped for a total of 15K. I gave a Gronda to a new CH. Was asked if I had mounts on a few occasions. And asked if I had any pets under CL16 once.

While this is not any great business venture, it offset the horns I needed for Musician. I never ask a fixed price for anything. Donations are cool enough for me. But I will start keeping more CL10 and below on me, as I had in the past for new toons.

I tend to keep about 3 or 4 non CHmounts in my data pad that i give away to new players if they want one. I don't think i've ever managed to sell a mount.

Mounts have become surplus to requirements unless you just want one as a pet as well, the main problem i find with non CH players is that they want to have mounts that are only available to CH from the wild and since I refuse to pay fora non CH bantha knowing that i won't make money back off it due to them being grossley over priced I try to steer clear of all mount sales.

I always keep spare pets in my Dpad. They are from lvl 25 up to about 45 so new(ish) CHs that asks me questions about our trade can get one if they need one. Irarly sell them for more then 10K so its not the money that drives mehehe.

I also keep some Rasps in my pad (non ch pets). Entertainers and ID's seem to enjoythem and i have sold afew of those. Mostly its females asking for them

I have only 1 'spare' mount in my pad and thats a lvl 20 bantha. i dont collect and i dont take orders for nonch pets. Only if a friend needs/wants one will i go look for and tame one.

I make 99% of my cash off of pet sales, actually. Over three quarters of thatis off of non-CH mounts.

Generally my week goes something like this, assuming I get to play five nights, two to four hours a night (sometimes six to eight). I go out and collect durni and other junk DNA around Coronet Starport, until I have enough templates (usually five to eight) to fill my empty slots that I save for growing. I'm only a 1/0/3/1 BE, so I can only make cu pas and dewbacks that sell, since I can't make any of the 11000 HAM CL 10 squalls or whatever. I make up a variety of 65-125 HAM CL 5 mounts, and toss them in the datapad to grow. From there I hit the bazaar, and snap up any non-CH model banthas and brackasets I can find. A quick analysis of my datapad and I make room for those to grow too, since they sell better; chances are I MAY find one of each of those in a week or two. Then its off into the wilds, often on Dathomir, Corellia, or Tatooine rare hunting and sampling everything in sight. By the end of the night, I usually put another 10 to 15 cu pas anddewbacks up on the bazaar in Theed and Coronet for 5k a piece. They are usually gone in 24 hours.

I do this for a couple of days, until the ones growing are ready to be saddled. Then I go to Coronet and sit out in front of the starport with my "crappers" that I made, as well as whatever neat stuff I picked up. If I happened to grab a savage humbaba, that's guaranteed to go for 20-30k, usually very quickly, since everyone thinks they're the best looking out there. I sell my grown mounts for whatever I feel like that night; the ones that I made myself for between 3-6k, depending on the idiot level of the buyer (as in, you act like an idiot, the price goes up). The bantha and brack models that I bought and grew go for between 12-15k based on demand. I've been offered outright 50k for a bantha and took it. The great part is my first round of mounts off the bazaar is ready to be mounted at that time, and people see me standing there with my tag so I get to train them all, making tips off that as well. Sometimes it might take me two nights to empty my datapad, but never on a weekend; that takes about two hours. Then I rinse and repeat again.

All in all, able to make the first box of BE animals and having Master CH, I make about 250k a week when I want to, without running a single mission. I may not be making as much as Mister Doctor with his line stretching to the bank next to me, but its enough to live on. and when the line gets too annoying, I drop a kimogilia in it.

Im really surprised by the answers too. Unless you're a BE like Blind, I don't think you canmakea livingselling pets. I can't see how it's cost/time effective for a CH. Though I keep thinking I'll keep one spot open on datapad for nonCH mounts to give away to ppl needing one, and Ilike the idea of keeping something like a rasp on hand for entertainers. However, I also hate the idea of having to give up any of my pets to make room for something Iget fewrequestsfor. As an MCHI have a lot of pets, but I can go thru them pretty quick if I'm at places like the genosian labortusken fort or just doing tough missions. Since I don't like spending a lot of money on pet stims I rotate my pets frequently. So,I wouldn't have thought that people would be willing to keep so many spots open on their datapad. Just goes to show - different strokes and all that

I don't think I've ever sold a mount, or any pet for that matter. I've given a lot away tho.

Actually, I didn't do all that bad before I picked up BE, either. I wouldn't have at all, probably, if everyone didn't switch over to wanting cu pas and banthas as mounts. I did a pretty brisk business on non-CH kaadu, plodders (when those worked), and giant mounts as well. Not as much as I do now, but that's because I do a lot of business off the bazaar currently. I made about 100k a week, then, because it took about that long to grow them before they could be saddled.

Nope, not yet (need to make friends with a merchant . . . I really don't want to drop politician yet), but I take special orders constantly. Just drop me an e-mail at Shabhaii and I'll get right back to you with a price and timeframe. If you want something I can make, be sure to specify your desired color as well and I'll get it as close as I can.
