Ok, this may be one Vert has to answer....
got 10 downloaded... was travelling back home to Tat... got this, roughly, on the "loading" screen while waiting...
"See your local Creature Handler for one of your two new mounts... Banthas & Cu Pas!"
**edit**???????????????????
did they nerf the Banthas & Cu Pas, or raise the Non-CH Level??????

it's a bug dude. clearly it's supposed to be "see your local bio-engineer".

Bio Engineers still can't make them mountable. But It is clearly a stupid move not making lesser versions of the two.

and it's NOT a BE Bug, cuz it SPECIFICALLY said "NEW MOUNTS!" as the title.

1. Unless your local CH has one of these beasties handy, you'll need to get a deed from your local BE for a CL 10 or below bantha or cu pa. There are no natural banthas or cu pas that are CL 10 or below.
2. The CH (Pack Master or MCH) still has to train the BE created bantha or cu pa as a mount, so there is no avoiding the CH.

Sio, I'm a CH... I wouldn't be posting here if I wasn't.
as far as I knew, Cu Pa's were L11, and regular Banthas were higher (number escapes me).
I want to know how now a Non-CH can drive a Cu Pa or a Bantha.
according to the "in transit" message I saw, Non Creature Handlers can now have a Bantha or a Cu Pa... I'm posting here to find out more.

siojust got through explaining it. bio-engineers canengineer non-ch(clvl <= 10)banthas and cu pas. that's the only way you can get them.

That I already knew. I'm slowly grinding to Packmaster, and I'm only about 40k away from it.
the way the message read, there was no mention of a Bio Engineer at ALL.
if they wanted us to train BE pets, they could've advertised about getting pets from one.
this read too much like they've changed the rules for what pets a Non-CH can have.
and it's what I'm trying to find out.

No, they have not changed the rules.
There are no natural non-CH cu pas or banthas
BEs can make non-CH cu pas and banthas.
You still need to have a CH train the critter as a mount (or train the other commands, for that matter)
At some point in your mount's life, a CH has taught it commands.
Which is why you should visit your local CH to find out how to get a cu pa or a bantha as a mount.
The message can be a bit confusing, I'll grant you that, if you're not familiar with the rules for non-CH pets, and some of us treat the rules as second nature now and don't see the potential confusion.

then they need to remove that message... anyone that comes looking for one is gonna get told "go find a BE, THEN come see me."
and lord knows I've seen some BE'd pets that make me think I should try to sell them land with this GREAT view of Carkoon....

I don't have manage 4 yet so haven't been able to train a mount yet. However, wouldn't you be able to get say a regular bantha (cl15) train it as a mount, give it to a non ch who in turn takes it to a ch npc trainer who downgrades the pet to lvl 10?

you can bring.... huh?
ok, I thinkI remember hearing about something like that... if you are given a creature that's over ten, a NPC CH trainer will change it, right?
