Thread: Annoying CH's

Could the Creature Handlers have some common courtesy and keep your pets away from the mission terminals? It really isn't that hard to do. I was just in Coronet and you could not see the mission terminals because Rancors and other critters were crowded around them with their masters. MANY, MANY people were complaining about it so I am not just being a grumpy old man
I know some of you group with your pets to get higher paying missions, which is fine, but you can, say, go to the nearby fountain and give your STAY command and then walk over to the mission terminals. If you really don't need your pet out, could you put it away? The lag in this city is bad enough, but if you need them out, then just park them away from the terminals so the rest of us can play.
A little courtesy goes a long way. Thank You.
I agree, even as a CH. The monster pets make it difficult for a bothan to see anything, lol.
Far as the rest of the traffic around the starport, you have to realize it's the only way we can sell pets and attract attention. (Ok, there are a few other ways, but this is the most direct).
I really don't mind too much about having pets out for sale or for other reasons. They do increas lag, but so do all the people spamming training, holos for sale, looking for hunting groups etc...
I just would like CH's to keep them several meters away from the mission terminals or other terminals so players can access them.

I did this the other day .... =(
I spent like a month trying to get a screecher by gosh... and everyone was going to pet him!
I agree though... it's pretty dumb to have them out in correlia...what is a rancor going to do there? Go kill butterflies?
If you want to come here and ask for something ask for the same thing the rest of us want and that is a way to /stuntgrowth. Even we find pet size annoying and harvesting for us is hard unless you use first person perspective.
Otherwise dont generalize, it would be like me saying shout should be completely removed from the game rather than say some spammers are idiots.
Yeah, there are LOTS of mission terminals in Coronet away from the starport; at the guild hall near shuttle A, at the north end of the capitol/guild plaza, at the hotel.
Also, back when I was an MCH and had three pets out, I'd park them over by the building to the N of the starport and W of the bank, then run over to the mission terminal to pick up the missions. Very easy to do, allows you to get the level of mission you want without annoying everyone.
As to the lag, it's more a function of how many PCs are in the area (always lots) and how much RAM you've got . 1 GB is enough to solve most of the lag problems you see around the starports.
Taking missions in player cities is another good option; one added bonus is they're often not as far away from the terminal, reducing the amount of travel time to and from the missions.
I just zoom my camera in all the way to first person view, then stand next to the mission terminal.
Joe buttcrack can have all his Kimos out and i can still click the terminal AND avoid 90% of the lag.

I wish a little courtesy went a long way when people decided to that CH was too powerful. But that is neither here nor there. Are you sure you're not jealous of these big behemoths (yeah right). Leave CH's alone we have suffered enough.
