Thread: Annoying CH's

Could the Creature Handlers have some common courtesy and keep your pets away from the mission terminals? It really isn't that hard to do. I was just in Coronet and you could not see the mission terminals because Rancors and other critters were crowded around them with their masters. MANY, MANY people were complaining about it so I am not just being a grumpy old man

I know some of you group with your pets to get higher paying missions, which is fine, but you can, say, go to the nearby fountain and give your STAY command and then walk over to the mission terminals. If you really don't need your pet out, could you put it away? The lag in this city is bad enough, but if you need them out, then just park them away from the terminals so the rest of us can play.

A little courtesy goes a long way. Thank You.

I agree, even as a CH. The monster pets make it difficult for a bothan to see anything, lol.

Far as the rest of the traffic around the starport, you have to realize it's the only way we can sell pets and attract attention. (Ok, there are a few other ways, but this is the most direct).

I really don't mind too much about having pets out for sale or for other reasons. They do increas lag, but so do all the people spamming training, holos for sale, looking for hunting groups etc...

I just would like CH's to keep them several meters away from the mission terminals or other terminals so players can access them.

I can apprieciate your concern but you can get just as good missions in a player city and some cities you can even get a bonus. Why not get out of the laggy city altogether. I even work missions between two cities and it saves on run times.

Solace is about 900 meters SW of Tyrena so I pick up 2 Missions NE of Solace. Once done I go into Tyrena and get two missions SW of Tyrena.

I never go into to Corellia for missions. I just go there to pick up stuff from Bazaar Terminals or to get a quick training for free.

I did this the other day .... =(

I spent like a month trying to get a screecher by gosh... and everyone was going to pet him!

I agree though... it's pretty dumb to have them out in correlia...what is a rancor going to do there? Go kill butterflies?

I do agree that I can go eslewhere to do missions but I went to Coronet to put some items up on the Bazaar. Coronet is one of the best markets for selling items. And other than the Bazaar, I do keep away from Coronet. But the fact still is, that there is no reason pets should be crowded around terminals. They can be given the STAY command several meters away so people can actually see where the terminals are.

The lag was so bad that morning (well, morning for me in the USA) that it took me over 2 minutes just to get out the door of the starport. And I have Broadband cable connection, AMD 2400+ cpu, and GeForce FX 5600 vid card with 256ram, plus 512mb of memory. Guess I will need to get 1+ gig memory if I go to Coronet

The most annoying player I have ever seen was parked in front of the Coronet starport on the Naritus. He had a fully grown kimogila with a name like "PETS-FOR-SALE" doing a patrol all around the front of the starport (right through where everybody congregates) while he stood there and spammed his long messages every 10 seconds. Plus he was trying to sell some pre-nerf (bugged level 1) gurrecks for millions.

My guess is his daytime job is creating pop-up ads for porn sites.

Just so you know if group members arent within a certain range you dont get better missions. I would suggest you find a better terminal away from the SP since you seem to hate the lag anyway.

If you want to come here and ask for something ask for the same thing the rest of us want and that is a way to /stuntgrowth. Even we find pet size annoying and harvesting for us is hard unless you use first person perspective.

Otherwise dont generalize, it would be like me saying shout should be completely removed from the game rather than say some spammers are idiots.

Yeah, there are LOTS of mission terminals in Coronet away from the starport; at the guild hall near shuttle A, at the north end of the capitol/guild plaza, at the hotel.

Also, back when I was an MCH and had three pets out, I'd park them over by the building to the N of the starport and W of the bank, then run over to the mission terminal to pick up the missions. Very easy to do, allows you to get the level of mission you want without annoying everyone.

As to the lag, it's more a function of how many PCs are in the area (always lots) and how much RAM you've got . 1 GB is enough to solve most of the lag problems you see around the starports.

Taking missions in player cities is another good option; one added bonus is they're often not as far away from the terminal, reducing the amount of travel time to and from the missions.

I just zoom my camera in all the way to first person view, then stand next to the mission terminal.

Joe buttcrack can have all his Kimos out and i can still click the terminal AND avoid 90% of the lag.

I just use smaller pets. Sure I got a graul and a rancor and a kimo for when I want a big pet for show but generaly I use BE'd pets in smaller skins. my primary's are in angler skins wich even the shortest bothens shouldnt have much trouble with. besides what CH would want to take missions out of cronet anyway? long runs and there arnt any worthwile missions on corel anyway. I much prefer dant endor or yavin(dath too hilly).

To Upgrade something implies that you are adding too, enhancing, and fixing the thing that you are upgrading. The CU does not do this, it is not adding too, enhancing, or fixing the combat system that is in place, it is replacing the innovative SWG system with the generic one used by its competitors. Be honest and stop calling it the CU, Call it the CR (combat replacement) instead

I wish a little courtesy went a long way when people decided to that CH was too powerful. But that is neither here nor there. Are you sure you're not jealous of these big behemoths (yeah right). Leave CH's alone we have suffered enough.
