LOL!!!

Suffered enough?? Hehe, the "rebalancing" or nerf as you call it was needed.(maybe the went too far, but I don't know)Before, you could have a novice CH with 2 boxes of marksman pistol and solo piket longhorns (way way above your level). My friend did it and made over a million in two weekswith mission pays and selling the meat (which was very good at the time)Just a couple boxes of CH and you have a GSP to do all the work while you widdled away at its health with a scout blaster. Just like the Pistoleer needed to be reworked, and other combat classes as well. I really don't see that CH's are no longer a viable professions after the fix.

But that is not the point. If you read my second post (the third one from the top) I mentioned that I had no problem with having pets out for sale or missions. And keeping them away (say 10 meters) is plenty close to get the missions you want, but leave room for others to see the terminal as well. AND I didn't say CH's were the only reason for lag. I said it increased lag just like the PC's out there spamming their wares, training, groups, etc.... Of course, the more people that are there, the more lag you are going to get, that's natural. But having to stand INSIDE of a rancor to see the terminal because it is physically standing ontop of it is not natural.

mesc,

AS a master CH, I have had enough of whiners like yourself, that has caused much pain to my beloved profession. lets see, do you see anyone complaing when a comando uses his flamethrower and freezes everything on the screen to the lag? no of coarse not. I am sick and tired of all YOU creature haters.

I have a novel idea for you, there are alot of terminals in coronet, pick ANOTHER one. simple. easy.

and p.s. quit your whining.

thanks, now move along.

Meschuster, you are right about creatures blocking the view of the terminal. I always tell my pets to stay back to provide a clear view, and it is common courtesy. While you are at it, please go to all the other profession boards and ask everyone else to step back from the treminals and keep the terminal views open for you too, and the same goes for the ticket collectors.

You just have to be near the ticket collectors, you don't have to see them. You can double-click on the ticket in your inventory.

Could the Creature Handlers have some common courtesy and keep your pets away from the mission terminals? It really isn't that hard to do. I was just in Coronet and you could not see the mission terminals because Rancors and other critters were crowded around them with their masters. MANY, MANY people were complaining about it so I am not just being a grumpy old man

I know some of you group with your pets to get higher paying missions, which is fine, but you can, say, go to the nearby fountain and give your STAY command and then walk over to the mission terminals. If you really don't need your pet out, could you put it away? The lag in this city is bad enough, but if you need them out, then just park them away from the terminals so the rest of us can play.

A little courtesy goes a long way. Thank You.

There was a time when I would have agreed that there was no reason for someone with huge pets to stand around mission terminals. But this was back when non-CHs couldn't have pets and I didn't like other CHs parading around their pets for no reason. Then things changed when non-CHs got their pets, and they all chose the biggest one they could get, a cowardly gurreck, and began parading them around for no reason. That's when I realized all non-CHs are a bunch of hypocrits. And no, the creature rebalance wasn't needed. Even before the rebalancing patch, a master at another combat profession could take down any one of our pets.

I agree with you too. I am working my way up to master CH and have a fambaa at the minute. Which if youve seen you'll know are huge. Anyway if I need it for better missions I do like you said and move it somewhere out of the way and tell it to stay. Its not hard, I wish other people would do it too, especially on dantooine and dathomir where theres only one terminal at the mining/trade outposts and everyones there with rancors and grauls.

I disagree with people saying you should go to another terminal too. Why should you? You've as much right to be there as them and can make more use from a terminal than a creature can lol.

Glad you brought it up, I get annoyed about it too.

By the way, distance doesn't matter for pulling missions. At least it never has for me. Have had group members on another planet and it still calculated as if they were withing 3 meters of me.

People who park anything right on top of a terminal (or the ticket taker) should know better. It's not just pets, I have seen people put vehicles on top of things many times to create a targetting nightmare.

Just so you know, I like CH's. I play one on another server (not my primary character and I am not even near Master) and I am in no way a creature hater. I think they are an excellent class and should remain a big part of SWG. I never asked to have CH removed from the game and never will.

How does asking fellow CH's to make sure they keep their pets several meters away from a terminal make me a creature hater?

I apologize if the subject title of this thread upset some, but I think I wasfairly polite with my original post. I didn't call CH's names, just asked for courteous play. Then I get called a hater and whiner? Should I have to go elsewhere in the game to get missions because some (most CH's are excellent and courteous players) want to have their pets standing ON the mission terminal? I can and I do, but at this particluar time in question I went to coronets spaceport from Theed to put items on the bazaar. Numerous people were asking for the pets to be moved and it got heated. Some asking for anyone who could attack the offending CH's to attack them. I was not one of those people by the way. I never said a word.

And I do not accuse CH's as being the only reason for lag in the game. But unnecessary pets (ones not needed for higher paying missions or selling, but just for show) do add to the numerous reasons lag gets bad in the city.

And because I saw, from my friend, an imbalance in previous CH profession in PvE (my friend who made millions soloing piket longhorns with his GSP when he alone was nowhere near strong enough to take on one pointed out the imbalance to me since I hadn't started playing SWG at the time) doesn't necessarily make me a whiner. Just like noob imps who were soloing Krayt Dragons with their Three AT-ST's when without them they would have a hard time taking on a shaupaut. An imbalance was there and it was changed. CH's are still a strong viable profession even after the change. Heck, as a novice CH on Chimaera server I take on some tougher critters with my Rock Beetle than I could without and make some good cash doing it.

Nice to be able to see how long the shuttles going to be though. I always use the ticket from either the inventory or one of the F slots, but I like to know how long I have to wait, which franckly is near impossible when theres loads of players standing around the droid and sometimeseven in it.

Mech,

I understand yeah we can move back, I would say, generally CH's in Coronet at the spaceport are wasting their time but oh well. My big gripe is the people at the ticket collector, doesn't matter where you will always have some yo-yo standing on the ticket collector. But, if I just clik on my ticket I am out of there.

Lastly, we spent 132 points getting Master CH, (i think) so we can do high end missions. The point is I was doing missions over my head too, died a lot, the pet didn't keep things off or kill things so I died. It should be that when you see a Elite (that is what they told us we were ELITE) profession coming with a rancor, kimo, whatever you should be shaking in your boots, now they are laughing at us. It isn't a very good feeling.

So if some of us have bitten off your head and spit it back out, I apologize them but when you are down and the Dev's come along and first kick you, then loot you, the DB your profession you kind of have a hard time with someone whining over a pet on a mission terminal.

Be well

....and then no matter how hard we get nerfed, we still keep CH because we are still some of the coolest characters on the game.
