lol CH is worse now then before CU, about the ONLY good thing is the fact almost all creatures are now tamable!
otherwise, they all pretty much suck at PvP

All you're doing now, I"m afraid, is taming a skin
You're no longer taming a unique creature with its own advantages and disadvantages in combat, its own role in combat.
You're taming generic mob, adjusted to match your 'level', in the manner of the accursed elf game.
Much of what made CH fun has been lost because of the moronic need to have RotW and the Combat Upchuck go live by a certain date.

Omg this is totally 100% wrong. MCH is probably the most uber profession there is now for both PvP and PvE, when combined with another elite combat profession. Let me restate that, "with another elite combat profession". Both me and my son did a lot of PvP last night and I have yet to lose a fight as MCH/Master Swordsman/Some Medic. My son isn't even master swordsman yet and is only level 60ish and he was owning people 10 levels over him. Most the time I don't even get a chance to hit the person before my 2 pets have them dead.
Then the two of us went krayt dragon hunting and the only time we had any trouble at all with any krayt out there (ancients, giants, adolescents, canyons, you name it) was when 5 krayts spawned on top of us while we were killing one. Even then we still managed to take out the one we were killing plus 4 of those others before our pets were dead and that last one finally killed us. I would like to see any other combat profession do that.
People who say MCH is weaker now than before the CU haven't tried it and are just used to whining about it from the Pre-CU days. I'm telling you now, MCH is back and is now probably the most powerful profession there is again (yes I was MCH back in the day when we were the most powerful profession, before the big CH nerf). This is the most excited I have been about MCH for a very long time.

Everything is out of balance. ceatures and pets, it will not be like this for long. as my lvl 45 pet can solo a krayt and my lvl 68 pet gets owned by a crazed gurreck the only logical answer is expect balancing soon.
I know they are going to balance things but unless they completely nerf pets to be way under their counterparts in the wild (impossible, see my explanation below), I really don't see any way MCH can't be way more powerful than other professions under this new level based system. You can wish and hope all day long that the balancing will make MCH weak as it was before but you aren't taking into account that SWG is now a level based system. There are posts out on the forums that explain it and how it works. Fact is if I'm level 80 fighting a level 80 person we are basically equal and the fight will be very even. But if we are both level 80 and I also throw 2 pets totalling level 70 on top of him, there is no possible way he can survive that encounter. These are the facts. So just keep expecting MCH to go back to the old days of being the weakest profession if you want. In the mean time I'll be out there owning everyone else in the game and have a blast doing it with all my pets. It has been a long wait and I'm going to enjoy every minute of it.
On the topic of nerfing pets to be under their wild counterparts, this is impossible for them to do in the new level based system because in this system a creature is a creature. There is no difference except the skin, as many posts have already stated. It doesn't matter if it is a pet or not, it is still a creature and behaves the same. If you have played any at all in the new system, certainly you have noticed that if you have a rancor out (or any other agro mob that likes to fight other mobs) following you and he sees some weaker animals by a lair, he will stop following you and go attack them. This is because it is the creatures behavior to do that in the wild so he continues to do it as a pet. So unless SOE goes back to the old, Pre-CU non level based system where each creature can be set individually, you will not see our pets being somehow nerfed to be anything less than their wild countparts.
I have been a master creature handler since the game launched
(taking into account I started the grind towards on my first day of play)
Where in anything I wrote did I ever say I "want" it nerf'd or weak.
Do not presume to think you know what I am thinking. You do not.
I am probably the last of a handful of vets from the 2003 era. I understand and lived through the history of creature handler. What you and many people are not considering is how the profession is looked at by the devs. Please do not place words in my mouth as anyone here who knows me can attest I have fought for this profession as best as I am able.
The facts are the facts, creatures are out of balance therfore our pets are. To believve this is not going to be adjusted is foolish and folly. I do not want pets weakend but I also know what to expect. My post are to prepare people for the shock when it happens. Not run around and promote the flavor of the month club to satisfy the feeding frenzy that is going on.
You seem to like to interpret things and make an arguement or "debate" out of nothing. This forum doesn't work like that and never has untill the last week, may I suggest the server forums or possibly jedi forums, where people like to take things out of context and argue.
Thank you for your time.
I am done here replying to anything that resembles an arguement over words never said.
