I think it is a sad that CH's have become so dependent on BE's to get good pets. I wich there more random spanwns of good CL creatures we could tame. I prefer wild creatures over the BE ones. Especially at the pricess the charge.

I find your lack of pants disturbing.

I have no problem using pets, or even finding babies. But I have a hard time finding decent level Razor Cats, Gurrecks etc (cl 50+). I can train Banthas all day long. But I wich I could find more wild/random spawns of aggresive creatures to tame. BTW I only hunt with cats, so that makes things a bit more difficult.

What level mob are your pets tanking? Are your pets able to tank (and survive) a CL80 mob? Or even anything over CL 70? Or do you find that you have to step in to help your pets so that they don't get incapped? When you solo, do you use only CH skills? Or do you rely mostly on your other combat profession? What level are you able to solo?

Well I don't use my pets to tank, just extra damage. I am MRifles/MCH I am CL 80 and can easily lake out a cl 82 non agressive lair. My system is real easy. I put my pets on Follow Target then take up position 65m away, I sniper and creature attack at the same time, then snare, then head shot. I can usually get a mob down 1/4 health by the time it can get a hit on me. I have been hunting Kaadu on Naboo the last 3 days harvesting meat, and although the hunt is slow, it is doable.

Even though there is plenty broken with both professions, and I feel frustrated for our being ignored for so long, my pets do a fair job. I'm a Master Ranger / Master CH and have Marksman-level pistol skills. Whether I'm using a Gaping Spider Hunter, or three Female Narglatches, I'm able to go about my business. I also use a probot.

I routinely encounter Class 82 creatures while hunting. If I can take them one at a time, I have little trouble. If they come two at a time, I have to be more careful. If it's more than two at a time, it gets scary, and I have to consider running. At times, I'll stand back and let the pets take the creature by themselves.

The best pets in the game at the moment are wild pets (the Female Nargalatches). No BE can make anything nearly as strong at the moment so far as I have seen. Granted that is a first in quite a while. This is the first time in quite a while that BE creatures have been inferior to any wild creature in basic stats. They are easy to find and tame, so get out there and grab a few of them.

And remember BE's make our profession stronger. They make interesting pets for us to use, and it only adds to the veriaty available to us. Nothing stops you from taming wild pets all you like.

i use a mixed setup

pack of 3 cl22 female naglatches (natural elite)
team of 2 cats - cl29 swamp stalker (natural elite) + cl40 BE gurreck
solo cl70 BE dune lizard
solo cl70 reclusive shear mite (natural)
solo cl69 gaping spider hunter (natural)
solo cl69 kinad baz nitch (natural)

i found that my BE pets are doing more damage because of the double speed, but recover way slower than my naturals. as a pistoleer i can use all above setups for tanking. i just use low damage state shots for start and change to high damage with kd and root later on. i usualy take down cl82 lairs without a creature ever getting in melee range. when i use my natural pets it will take a little bit longer to take down a target but they recover pretty fast to full strength even after a heavy beating.

the cl69/70 naturals have pretty good armour too - 40% damage reduction thats an armour rating of 4800 to 5000.

so i cannot say i purely depend on BE pets now. i use them when i expect to need the higher damage output.

Most wild pets do truly not compare with BE pets, but Female narglatch might have lower overall DPS than a high end BE pet, but they still have much more combined HAM and having them split into 3 makes their uses more varied than a BE pet. As long as Female narglatches stay the same, wild pets won't always be the worst choice possible.

i have been testing the 3 nargs on dath recently this is what i have been doing.

1 ) i let my pet do all the work i don fire a shot,

1sttest cl80 rancor from mision embolden my pets and enrage send them to attack thin i sit down so my action and mind bars regen. they are able to take down the rancor with verry little health loss. i then cleared out the rancor youth and the bull rancor in the same matter.

2nd test cl82 rancor from bull rancor mission i do the same as above only this time after i sent my pet in to attack the rancor youth i was aggroed by a near by cl82 rancor that i didnt notice was walking toward.i was working on killing him while my pet took care of the other. 1 cat took modt of the damage he only had 10% of his health left but they killed the rancor abd avoided incap.. after that i let them heal up and sent them to attack the cl82 bull they also killed him without my assistance and this time only lost approx 1/3 there ham..

3rd test night sister something cl81 elitesent the three in same ass above only this time 1 got incapped and a 2nd health was almost half gone. but they did kill her

4rth test cl80 kimogallas elite. same test as above got my A$$ handed to me.
