I have now rolled the xp on my level 57 Bloodseeker Mite Guardian 10 times! (2 million+ xp) I have also killed 1000's of creatures.

I have still not learned its level 2 skill of Precision Strike.

This is a complete joke and waste of time! I don't pay to grind grind grind to ridiculous levels or macro grind! I am not a Jedi, I am a MCH!

This needs to be addressed and fixed ASAP.

This is a game, not a JOB!

Thanks for wasting my free game time to be your grind slave SOE.

Did any other CH use that pet before you got it? You can't learn skills from previously-used pets, as far as I know.

I tamed it myself and I am the only owner.

I agree, and still stand by my belief that pet xp should be done away with completely and the ability points. Pet growth should be time based as before.

Creatures with abilities once tamed should grant a ch its skill, a pet dependent on its level should have a certain number of slots.

They can make the skills rare andincrease the dice roll of getting them on a baby to compensate, and as a ch climbs the tree to master the odds ahould improve,

We are the only profession required to grind to master, then search for months (babies), then grind again (Pets), while having a limited datapad and vitality loss to boot.

Again I say thisis not upgrade nor is it content. It is nothing more thanfancy wrapping paper with a ribboncovering a grind.

At this point it would be robbing the CHs that actually worked to get the abilities. Thats beyond unfair buck it up earn the abilities for yourself. I am up to 61 at the moment and no easy feat. To the original poster the system is a roll system you can get the ability after one kill or 3 thousand my guess is this particular pet is bugged. Since with each roll your pets chances double to give you the ability.

Oh on one note it seems that the pet can be given a command for its special from the getgo no training required sold a carrion spat last night with self sacrafice L1 you know what i learned the ability but never trained it to the pet all i had to do was give it the command for the skill.

Because some people made gains using a system, no matter how well or poorly implemented, that justifies not improving it? I'm sorry if this offends, but that is very silly reasoning. Nothing in this game would ever be fixed if that philosophy was adhered to.

WarWidow, how are you leveling your pet? Large grind groups where it gets a hit or two in to get a large amount of xp? Solo hunting? Since you're getting that much xp I will assume you're not mass killing yard trash.

While you have been using it alot, and having the extra levels may influence the chances of learning a special, you might need to increase your kill count. Some people are taking 900+ kills to learn a L2 or L3 ability. Now that it is pretty well leveled, try getting as many quick kills on yard trash as you can. Between the two, you should hopefully be able to learn it soon.

It shouldn't depend on what I kill. This entire system is all flawed.

Examples:

My Bloodseeker Mite Guardian, 10 xp rolls and nothing.

A Piket I tamed this morning, 2 xp rolls and I learned the skill.

A Crystal Snake I tamed. 26k xp only...just a few kills...and poof, I learned the skill.

Level 64 Festering Squil, 3 xp rolls and got the skill.

All of my pets have been grinded without doing any macro-grind or yard thrash.

Where is the logic in this sytem? From 26k xp to 2 million+! It's flawed!

SOE, shape up or ship out!

Whether it should or not, the number of kills and thus the number of chances to learn the skill seems to make far more of a difference than just gaining massive amounts of xp.

I've said it before... I'll say it again:

Challenge = Grind

That is the most fundamental and universal equation in this game. There is no getting around it.

It would be nice if things like strategy entered into the equation, but that's not really the case.

Eh, I vote that at this point you should try the kill yard trash method :/.

If it's of any consequence... I tame the lowest CL creatures possible when i'm looking for abilities to learn, that way I take advantage of the lower pet exp requirements... I do laugh as I group up any CL 4 animals... hehe, and I try to stay around the lower 50s upper 40s for LVL 2 abilities.

Robbing the CH's lmao that is the funniest thing i've read here in a long long time. tell me did soe rob you by delaying the CU, or by changing the cu 2-3 months before it went live, Were you cheated when your post cu be pet making scheme got nerf'd, were you robbed by lucas arts going along with soe and turning the game into jedi wars. ROFL

NOOOO of coarse not because you are still here playing aren't you. So you were not robbed.

But if a MCH (Who by the way has been here just as long as you) suggest Soe admit they made an error and gave us a larger grind to look like an upgrade and level the playing field for everyone, and make ch what it should be "A fun rewarding experience exploring and taming pets" Instead of a grind, that this is robbing you???

What kind of attitude is this to have does it benifit the community? NO it benifits people who dont work, don't go to school, who can devote tons of time grinding or people who leave they're pc's on 24/7 and macro. So wich are you. I also remember reading many of your post in the past. You loved the CU when it was beta (2 weeks before you signed into beta lol) then you hated it. Sorry but you bounce between issues like a rubber ball in a court yard.

My vote would be rob you then for why should I or anyone care about you when you do not and have never cared about us.

It has to be totally random.

Last night Sio tamed a grand wrix with frenzied assault L1. He used it for two BH mark takedowns , and then five fambaa. Seven kills total. XP stands at 11448/46375. No rollovers yet.

But the cat gave up the skill on the seventh kill.
