Thread: Regarding Rhoa Kwi Pack Leaders and Rhoa Kwi Guardians and taming
Brainstuff -- I think the 'idea' behind pets being harder to train (when you get the message "Your pet doesn't seem to understand you") means that the pet is supposed to be 'harder to earn respect from'. The higher level the pet, the more this is the case, at least for WILD pets. I've never had a problem training the bio-pets in all the commands. Yes, I thought the rancors were bad (4 tries on some commands), until I got my Pack Leader (5 or 6 tries per command)....annoying, to say the least.
Watch your Pack Leader when you tell it to Attack. It gets this really arrogant look on its face as if itssaying "Oh brother, again?", then turns to run away from you and into the attack. LOL
ArmAvan -- Yes, thanks for reminding me of that, the Pack Leader has a Light Armor rating, where the Guardian has an armor rating of none. I still don't know about the rarity of the Pack Leader, I may have gotten lucky the night I caught mine, because I went after a Guardian as I said, it was killed by a Nightsister. After killing the Nightsister, I went to the same lair and tapped it and got a Pack Leader. This time the adults agroed on me (I got so excited I forgot to unequip my gun), so that Pack Leader wound up getting killed by me by default attack, because my T21 was equipped. A few minutes later I came back and found a 2nd lair, tapped it, and out came another Pack Leader. If it is your experience that the Pack Leader is a rare, then maybe I was just horrendously lucky that night.
A little off topic: I've noticed a bug with the Pack Leader, it gets stuck easily on foliage and trees when following you on foot. I've had to go back and get my Pack Leader several times, I'll have to double ALL the way back completely BEHIND whatever it is it gets stuck on, and have it follow me the opposite direction to get it 'unstuck'. Could be a size issue, but I doubt it. Regardless, no other pet I've had has had this problem so badly.

I found my Guardian on the island way at the north of the map.
And regarding Kwis getting stuck, there have been reports of Cu Pa mounts getting stuck in stupid places too, are they the same skeleton model? In which case there seems to be a problem with it. The CuPa problem probably wasn't noticed before, since it has only recently become a popular pet.

A landspeeder is your friend; fast enough for the quick getaway, slow enough to allow beasties to spawn.
i do agree with you on the fact that rhoa kwi pack leaders and rhoa kwi guardians arenot being that rare at all to find !
i have also mentioned in the past that i think gaping spider queens should not be considered rare either as they are just as easy or easier to find then the kwi....but everyone says they are hard to find , dunno why lol i have solded over 2 dozen of these spiders now (if where gonna keep it rare then alright , more money for me to make i guess lol) if your on sunrunner and cannot find these guys give me a in game tell , i can get ya one , or help you find one.....take it easy all WEELOO
I got TWO prowling gurreks tonight on Lowca when I wasn't even looking for them (was after regular gurreks, which were much much harder to find even adults for). I killed about 20 prowlers to get the two babies, in 3 different static spawns. I only found a few gurreks, period, & no babies. Just goes to show you...in a totally random system like this, anything can happen.
I am willing to bet that these abovementioned pets are al lthe SAME rarity (chance to spawn), with adjustments made for the fact that lair-dwelling types are obviously a bit easier to get, even moreso if they are found in mission terms. In a giant, all-server, many-player, many-month view, they would all be equally common. We just can't see that big picture.
