Greetings all,
Now Vert does this contravene the DNA you signed. If it doesn't could you post something along these lines for CH?
First of all let me say that more details will become available in the next coming weeks. I can only make general comments at this point.
As you all know the devs originally said they would needunits from the JTL team to do the combat balance, and therefore the changes would not be until after JTL. They also had asked for a "quick" fix list for pre-combat revamp changes.
The good news is that they have added moreunit(s) to the combat balance team and are actively working on it. Therefore, the unitsfrom JTL will be NOT be needed at all, and once P10 goes live and is stable the whole team will be concentrating on Combat Balance. So, there will not be any quick combat fixes, as it would be a waste of time and effort and would delay the Combat Balance that is under an accelerated schedule. I expect sandbox testing to start very soon.
Now, that everything is clear let me give you my vague and general impressions.
- I would not be stretching things if I said the the BHs are going to love the changes.
- I would expect every BH to Master the profession and use all weapon lines in PvP and PvE. (I did say keep inv. 4 to melee BHs atanother post ).
- I would expect 250 skill point BHs to be competitive to other 250 point professions (unlike today).
- I expect the gameplay to be improved and tactical.
There are also changes to armor, weapons, HAM system etc., check other professions for more hints, every combat profession will be revamped. Also, some of the previous posts by THregarding HAM, Combat Balanceetc., still apply in terms of providing direction and ideas.
The devs will be providing more concrete information in coming weeks. I just can not say anything specific at this point, as things can and will change.
One clarification, this does not mean our non-Combat related issues dealing with BH missions and Jedi TEF are forgotten or delayed. Those are on a priority hot fix list.
What I read from this as a BH is: Get your Master because it is going to rock. So bye bye Medic hello Master BH.

Seriosuly though it's nice to get a bit of info filtering through, look forward to a similar announcement from Vert for CH when available.

Honestly I'd prefer not to makestatements like that (i.e. "I think CHs are going to love the changes. Or I think CHs are going to hate the changes, etc). I'm not trying to be difficult... we were asked not to discuss the details, and dropping "teasers" on the board will only generate more questions than I can answer.
I really appreciate your patience in this matter. 
Believe me, I'm very, very eager to see what you all think. It shouldn't be long until they start trickling the documents out, then we'll have a nice long series of discussions.

YEA!!!! Vert made a post reguarding the changes W00T! Seriously though thanks I understand you not wanting to give teasers because some on this fourm would go overboard with what little info you give us. Can you give us a more specific time on when the docs are comming out though?

I hope so, Vert. It's agrivating to know we've already had these "discussions" with the devs and it all turned out to mean nothing. I hope, for this game's sake, they don't do it all over again...

What I am about to say is not your fault, that is my disclaimer. You are not allowed to say anything about any changes. The fact is that many CH are skeptical of SOE's motives and performance. We have been told that no new changes would go in without community involvement. You cannot tell us in general CH has not changed.
So we are left with three options:
A) CH has not changed.
B) CH has changed for the better.
C) CH has changed for the worse.
If CH has not changed, then we have not had messages such as the Ranger Correspondent. To allude to this direction or better yet non-direction for CH. You are in the drivers seat for that. That is simply fact and non judgemental or confrontational. Only you can pass this information on if only you ask for permission.
If CH has changed for the better, then it will take proof rather than speculation of every Correspondent and their mother telling us skeptics. That again is fact, you cannot tell the skeptics that something as mythical as the combat revamp exists no more than you can convince me the light at the end of the tunnel is some final place of rest and not some misfire of cones and rods at ones untimely demise. The final thing to add is that we were promised a role in any further changes to CH.
If CH has changed for the worse, then we skeptics are more than right. Again even if it is not a bad changed it is still a lie perpetuated because we were promised a role in any changes SOE would place on us.
There is so much more I could say on this matter. Your hands are tied. You cannot say anything. So this seems that B or C is more true than A. CH's were promised we would not be changed with the next phase of the combat revamp. You cannot say anything. Any profession that has not changed has been allowed to assure its community. Since one can honestly see we are changing because you cannot say anything, then it is reasonable to believe that SOE still wishes to lie to CH.
Again, I am lead to believe that we are being changed because I am told we will love this. Again, I am convince we will change because Correspondents are flocking to CH. Again, I am lead to beleve we will change because you cannot say anything.
I am to the point that forage food has more use than a Developers words.
One last time, Vert I clearly understand you cannot say anything. So we are not in the same boat as the Rangers. Since all the Corrs are becoming CH that means FOTM syndrome all over again. This spells disaster for CH, we longtime CH will not love this because inevitably it means C) will happen once again. We will be nerfed.

Sadly Pluto I think you maybe right or....
Everything is being nerfed downwards so badly that we look good or.............
Maybe something positive is happening in the areas of our bugs etc. that is good.
I am sooooooooo confused.

That is pure speculation, and I think you're reading way too much into the Ranger thing. I'm not saying anything for exactly the reasons I have stated. The very fact that people are leaping to conclusions based onthat little bit of info is exactly why the Devs want the main release to be in the form ofprepared documents.
To set the record straight, no one ever promised that we wouldn't change . Runesabre said he didn't anticipate any further sweeping changes on the scale we had experienced. And he said that any future changes would include valuable input from the CH community in advance. I'm not saying we will or won't change, but the idea that there is some sort of promise here that could be broken is false.

Vert, its been one week now since you got back from the summit, was just wondering if you can find out and let us know when the team plans on informing everyone with the written notes/docuements? im hoping by next sunday

I would rather wait until vert can release the official changes then to have vert write a post with changes then find out later they are not going to happen. I am very optomistic about the upcoming changes and do think they will benefit us.
