Thread: Buffing pets

Last night, for the first time, I was asked to apply a full set of big buffs to someone else's pet.

The pet seemed un-named, and I was amused to see a system string in the buff spam, a great long thing with lots of information about the pet (like that it was a BE pet). I warned the owner that the buffs would drop if he stored it (before he paid), and asked himto tell me how it worked. He seemed very impressed! The regen time especially got to him,

Does anyone get much business like this? I had tried it with my little home-made buffs on my own pets before, and they did help some, but this is the first I have been paid for a full set of the big ones.

The popular thing to do with pets is buff the secondaries so the regen rates speed up.. On a 10k HAM pet, the primaries usually do not matter.. but the secondaries are sooooo low they just are not able to regener ate any damage..

IIRC the secondaries being buffed isn't supposed to really do anything on pets... In beta.. (or maybe after release) they got capped at something godawfly low so they intentionally would not regen fast. (So you need pet or normal stims). it may have been a freaky BE bugged pet...

That was my impression as well, which is why I asked him to report the results. He claimed to get total regen in less than a minute (but I wasn't there to see it myself).

On my little non-ch pet, even the 400 buffs make a difference in the primaries, but I never noticed the secondary effect.

I just wish I could have my droid and my pet out at the same time....

I'll have to buff in the med center!!!!

I will be interested in the test results, my information was very subjective.

Buffing your own pets works in camps, and houses too, tho getting a mount far enoughinside can be hard. Hint: try doing it through the doorway. A friend's camp works fine too, if you don't have scout.

When i used to hunt krayts with my buddy we always fully buffed my Maulers. Adding 20% to the health and action pools was a good safetey margin and yes the secondaries can be buffed and do affect the regen rate and the amount of damage they seem to take. All they did was cripple the pets so that their secondaries are naturally low but you can still buff them because there is no cap.

I used to do this all the time when I was a doc/CH. You only need to buff the constitution and stamina though. I don't think the strength and quickness do anything for pets.

Nope, when you store the pet you lose the buff.
