Reguarding Taming, I use a simple system for taming, approach all critters with Maskscent on, for non aggressive situations drop MS and hit a tame macro that is just /peace;/tame. For aggressive situations the only difference is maintain MS. If the adult breaks MS stop...immediately...if it is attacking burst run if not slowly WALK away, a bit at a time (when taming critters over lvl 40 that DB this is critical) when out of range reapply MS and go in again...WALKING...speed counts, the faster you are moving the easier it seems to be for them to break your MS.
I have some great screenies of taming a Toxic Merek Battlelord while surrounded by adult TMB's and Delerious Merek Avengers.
Be patient, these pets are worth putting the extra time into them.
Oh and remember to store a clone at the nearest town, if it turns nasty death can be very quick 8)

ok... i have a question and i don't know if it's changed since you posted this or not. I just picked up novice CH and was able to tame 2 cu pa babies. Do I still need to get higher CH skills to be able to use it as a mount?

You'll need Management IV to train it as a mount yourself when it's large enough. Or you can get a more advanced CH to train it for you.

No, as long as you maintain ch novice you will be able to use this as a mount, assuming this a lvl 11 Cu Pa.

If you feed your pet with something it will just heal Health and Action wounds.

Blap Biscuit +550-875 Health (pets only)
Pastebread +600-1500 Action (pets only)
Felbar +675-12250 Mind (pets only)
You can only use one foodbuff at a time, and only once an hour (unless you store and call again).

You don't need a Doctor to heal your pet's wounds. Just feed them with the "Feed" command on their radial menu. You'll need some food in your inventory first (pets can eat anything players can eat... foraged berries, bofa treats, synth steak, etc). This heals the pet's Health/Action wounds. To heal Mind wounds, command your pet to do one of its tricks (trick2 heals more Mind wounds than trick1, but you can use either of them repeatedly).
Pets can't be grown to larger than their regular size by any means that I am aware of. I think there was a very old statement in the official manual saying this was possible, but in practice pets grow to regular adult size and then stop.

Don't forget my favorite pet food, Sweesonberry Roll. Buffs all 3 stats for pets.
