Actually your wrong lol. sorry but it's true.

Yes people will quit. History has proven this to be true our servers are mostly devoid of life in comparison to a year ago. many left after the Pub 9 jedi fiasco, other left when the CU went live and even more left when they changed the xp system (Wich they rolled back mind you).

I myself quit after 2 years because of the CU and believe it or not I would not have returned if it wasn't for the fact I have had major surgery and was stuck at home unable to drive for month and a half lol. It's the only reason i came back and will probably not be here past the new year. I didn't even come to the forums for weeks because I knew I would get wrapped up into things.

This is half the reason why many people are still here. They are wrapped up in things. guilds, cities, friends...

People do quit and anyone who says they don't should come to the remnants of my old city lol. I think there are 4 houses still there unoccupied but there non the less.

We are a minority when it comes to professions, and lets face it, if SoE keep it as it is, is anyone really going to quit? I highly doubt it. They will understand this and will keep it how they see fit. They will take ideas and hopefully work on them, but I really would not keep anything crossed that XP will be reduced.

I think the main point is here for everyone, is that to mindlessly have to grind again is really a waste of time. The worse part? The grind is uninteresting. This is why the need for content becomes even more apparent. To achieve something it should be fun to do it. Not something that reaquires mindless grinding. Yes. Fighting with my pets is fun. I love it. Why not a 10 step quest that takes a few hours....this is called content...a quest an adventure!...not...grind your pet for 12 hours on Dantooine...

Curiosity: What was the Publish 9 JEdi Fiasco. Don't remember that one

People do leave. I know a guild of 50 live characters (150 some odd toons) that went down to 10 people post CU. My friends list went for 200 down to 60 post CU. People leave.

The grind is only dull if you get a bad group, or don't chat. If you start a conversation, others will follow. I have made so many friends grinding.

But I also agree that we do need more content - I keep saying this as well

And CU saw a lot of people off - I don't see peeps running away from CH atm - if anything, I see more of them grinding, so must be having a positive effect.

That would have been fun Kur

Aten or eventhirtystep quest forskills trainable topets. As I suggested in another thread put the level part into the ch skill trees "empathy 2 level 1 skills, empathy 3 level 2 skills..." and viola a system that has you doing something interesting, some combat, some thinking, somesearching and you learn skills along the way as you finish each phase. You could take as long as you want. play casually and enjoy what might have beenrobust content.

Imagination was always strong here. Too bad they don't ask for input anymore.

I believe it was publish 9 that changed the jedi boxes, introduction to the village followed. many hard core jedi left unhappy with it and those who grinded professions and didn't get credit for all of them just those that were considered "Holo or Char created prerequisit professions" counted. many left shortly after frustrated with the changes I know several who left and never returned.

I include it because it was the cause of several close friends of mine to leave.

I see your point. AS I firmly believe one of the major goals of the CU was to make people group and play as a unit rather than as individuals. But, that makes it even worse. 1/2 the time I group with non guildies i contend with "can you put your pets away or I can't see around your pets" which often leads into an argument or battle for justification of my profession...which i shouldn't have to do...or my pets loosing gobs of XP because the other groupers are rushing to kill things before my pet gets to the target. I like grouping. I am a converstationalist which i can tell you is about the only reason i play this game. My friends and the people I meet. But I must tell you. As a Level 80? I'm usually fighting alone

A grind is still a grind no matter how you put it. Yes, you can have fun IF you find the right group, but honestly, how many have that luck today.

Also, how many do you think will finish CH? That is my biggest concern once they find out how much they have to grind to be a topnoth CH.
I would like to hear your opinions and observation about newcomers to CH once the novelty of the new ability system has worn of.

I do not think this AMOUNT of xp can be good for CH in the long run. It needs to be somewhat toned down.

MCH was an extremely time consuming process. To me it is one of the slowest processes out there. My Base for comparion? Master Riffleman, Master Pistoleer and Master Pikeman. I did not grind those professions in 3 day. On average lets call it a month betwen socializing, and messing around....chasing skirts CH Took far longer than that...and i can tell you as i did Riffleman the 1 rst time I mastered Riffles weeks before CH. CH xp is nasty. But then...i guess if professions were harder to get they would be felt worth more. But still. At master I think starting from scratch again would be nasty

If you call endless grinding and macro-thrash work game content, then your not using CH correctly.

Where is all the adventure? Where is game content for CH, Ranger, BE, or Scout to back up the elements in this group. Killing lairs is not content either.

I am very glad that you think a level 70 BE pet can tank some of the high level content. I hope it was enjoyable to grind 3 million+ XP to open 10+ slots to have specials. Remember when your pet dies you will have to be a grind slave all over again, while your friends elite 1000+ damage weapon has an ADK on it.

Have fun with PvE, every CH does to a point, I even use my pets for help with BH marks. Now go take that so-called uberlevel 70 BE pet and go SF in Theed when its loaded with melee stackers and Jedi. Bye bye pet! The work involved with CH does not equal balanced power for the time invested in them. Half the specials are a complete waste and many of them don't work.

I know how to use CH. I remember when pets where king, unbalanced for their time, but that was because there were no buffs and elite protection.
Then I use to PvP when 90% kinetic armor players with uber migration food and super DOT weapons use to waste pets. After the nerf of 2003, we never recovered. Even pets now are no more then copy-cat skin clones. Nothing unique!

CH has improved in minor areas, but to many factors still plague this class.

Combat profession...NO, hunter...YES!

Play to have fun, but when fun no longer exist, why bother playing?

Always remember...your paying a monthly fee to play a game, not go to work!

Anyone who finds endless repeatative grinding fun is honestly blind to the real problems with this game.
