Pluto designed the coral to be just a regular structure with pet storage you will need to set the structure to commercial via the build terminal.


proffesion specific commands are just that commands, anyone could use them as any regular pet can be used except without the skills in a specific proffesion then the pets would not respond and the proffesion specific commands nullified.


yea lots of this tuff has been floating around for a while. I like the idea of training pets at home in a"ranch/kennel/coral" or whatever you want to name it lol right now I hardly go to my house other than to grab something or pay maint, this might make it have some purpouse and help keep a little traffic from some places like coronet while we are home training. if in a player city im sure many people in the city would come by sit and chatt while watching the show :-)

Tott,

If I remember correctly (it is possible I do not), there are at least 4 pens in the existing Rancher's farm on Tatooine (it may be 5). If each one of these were given its own terminal to be turned on or off then it would work much like you stated each pen could be functional in one way or another.

I really need to get those screenies up of the farm so I think I will do that today.

BTW that is at 5000 -4700 on Tatooine. That is just East of Mos Eisley about 1500 meters or so. Not a bad little trek if the Desert Demons and Valerians don't hate you. It is a really nice villa and much more to it. It is in my top 5 places to visit.

i think we have to kep it as simple and as accessible as possible. if they look at this thread and see 2 or 3 months programing theyre just gonna ignore us. if they see something that could be done quickly and easily, maybe as part of a mini-patch, then we MAY just stand a chance (tho my natural pessimism doubts it)

also 'if' we get these they need to be as accessible as possible, if these are just structures that only MCH or imperial male bothans whose name starts with a 'Y' use then we shoot ourslevesin the foot and get a forgetable little gimmick that will be everywhere for two weeks and then vanish (a bit like mounts really) what we need are structuers that are as integral to the game as harvesters or as common as merchant tents.

without a combat rebalance the only other viable lifeline for pets is increased functionality. as neither are on the cards then we just have to hope that increased availability will help. remember it doesnt matter who makes the pets or who owns the pets, so long as CH's are needed to train and tame pets, any improvments to pets means we win!

Tott I think your concerns of being ignored are valid but personally I would shoot for the moon lol


the devs will do as they wish but the more options we give them might allow for a small start then add ons as time goes by. there are small house style buildings on dantooine with a fenced in area. usually mokks, dantari... are in them it is very similar to pluto's pictures but without the unclosed wall and only a single fenced in structure.


they could easily start with this and allow pet storage and over time add to it to someday have the fully functioning coral. I dont believe anyone here is asking for it all at once and as cyphaze said above housing/storage for pets is the primary goal.


and your right any improvements to our beloved proffession will be considered a win :-)

It is my hope that the minimum would be pet storage. And you are correct jope. Dantari structures of 1 lot holding 2-3 creatures would fit that bill as well.

There are 3 real pens in the current art to the Ranchers Farm (pics, waypoint provided earlier). So three terminals attached to each pen allowing each pen to interact differently would be nice. But would that as well mean more coding so each pen does act differently? Would it not be easier to have the whole farm act in one uniform way?

Anywho, when this all started I saw two posts: More Storage (It is always asked week after week) and an Economy/Niche Thread (requested every other week or so). I took a look at these and combined them. There is no doubt in my military mind that profession specific pets could aid the GCW and would be wanted by many professions.

Jedi Hunting pets for BH
Dragging pets for the MEdic Profession
Dancing pets for the Entertainers
Tracking Modifier pets for Rangers
PSG wearing pets for the Squad Leaders
Jousting pets for the Pike, Swords
Use your imagination pets for insert profession here

There are so many lists available as to what CHs want. Much of it could be tied into the Corral, or not, the point remains that there are useful ideas for mounts, profession specific pets, storage, useful pet commands, breeding, etc. They could all be implemented in phases and various levels of usefulness. I guess for me as MCH, I would like the freedom of having a vendor type structure.

I love this idea. It is exactly what our profession needs. There are other things too but I think this is one of the most important.

I know this is stickied, but cant believe anyone has not posted for so long.

So I wanted to bump this to the top again.

What if the ranch was the basic schematic for all. The only diff between the 4 being the number of pens in the

ranch?
