Thread: Petition to alter the Creature Handler XP Grind
Message Edited by rainfinder on 09-26-2005 07:14 AM
There is nothing unique about pets anymore like the old days. Everything is a skin-clone, its an easy way out for SOE to rehash stuff.
So grind that level 70 pet. Grind that 4+ million xp. Oh, you'll be a great hunter, maybe even last a little longer in high level adventures.
But when all is said and done. Your so-called uber level 70 pet will still be a joke among war verse elite stacker doctor templates and alpha glowsticks!
CH will always be a glorified hunter...no more.
Grinding does not equal game content!

I've been playing on Tempest since day 3 of server. During this time, I never used a macro in any aspect of this game. I always felt that I was paying for this game for the experience and enjoyment of playing....not to have some program play the game for me, so that I could achieve some higher level of game experience. With these changes to the CH profession, I have finally broken and gone to the dark side of macro grinding....I couldn't see any other way to enjoy this game with the limited play time that I have available. SOE has done this profession, game, and customers a disservice by requiring such outrageous levels of grinding for so little benefit.
What ever works...go for it!

People have been emailing and air mailing magazines and lucas over this game for a while, occasionally the bad pr is looked and and responded too unfortunatly anything soe says in response is printed and taken as fact since ole georgie and sony pay mags alot of money for adds,
Don't be fooled Lucas is very much aware of whats going on here and he doesn't care, he's grinding every buck he can while star wars is on peoples minds since the last movie had come out and will be out on dvd. Just around the time of the new expansion lol. George Lucas is just as money grubbing as everyone else or he would have stopped this months ago.

Ever since i came back to the CU (which i actually like) Ive felt myself wondering why thi sgame has become so much more unrealistic. So before i sign this (and I will) I want to bring us back to the old days (well for me this is Feb04 to whatever the date was before CU hit)and corrolating them to now:
1. Off the top of my head Commando sucked and once we got tossed on our back (in PvP and some high end content) we were thru
Now: Commando is decent if you use a completely ranged template, DOTs are useless yet all our weapons are for DOTs, all our weapons now area but the dot on the area is borked, and over all I tend to be more of a Rifleman with a commando backup. Not much different but at least I dont spend all my time on my back so Im still happy with that.
2. Loot. Need I say more?
Now: I miss even getting pointless crap. It seems like if you even loot pointless junk now its a 1 and a million chance (oh yeah wait BHs have loot Drops how could i forget. Oh yeah Because I dont wanna be a BH)
3. Rarity of seeing a player Jedi. I remember meeting a new jedi once about a year and a half ago on Endor. I happened to bump into him and scared the willikers out of him. I pointed out he was the second i had seen and he expressed his sadness in having to hide all the time but also understood this is how it should be.

Unless my full-grown and fully-trained pets become little jedi, the grind is ridiculous. <--LoL Awesome
I feel sorry for Squad Leaders and Rangers. They're next to get Dev "love". I wonder at what cost it will be (in terms of their new grinds)?
I think jedi is the new model for all professions, based on what they're doing. Which is: increase the amount of time people have to play to reach the top, make it as much a chore as possible to keep them from ever getting "to the end" and then being bored. Same level of "power" as any other profession, just 50x longer to get there.
It's just a means to keep people subscribed longer. They know people quit when they no longer have goals or objectives to be met. And for most, finishing a profession is that goal. They do the content along the way, and when they get to the end, they realize they've already done it all.<--DING DING DING!!! GET THE MAN A CIGAR!!!!
