Just a thought..something to show our disatisfaction towards what the game has become.
Why not all of us just abstaining from putting our name into the hat. I think having noone apply for the position would really get them thinking and possibly come by for a visit to see what is wrong on our side.

Hossp -has my vote if vert is stepping down, I dont really know the others but in the posts Ive done Hossp has always been nice and helpful.
That means alot to me cause for a bit I got so upset with all the flame/rude posts you couldnt have a discussion without getting flamed it sucked, Soo I left the forums and vowed not to read them or post on them. Curiousity got me tho and I deciced to have a peak back see if it had changed,..Its gotten alot better so here i am

I really don't know that I do want it. Honestly. There is a part of me that believes I could help CH, there is the other part that believes the darker conspiracy theories. "CH is doomed and we are on just as equal footing without a correspondent. The
Devs ultimately do what they want."
I want what is best for CH. Freth is a brilliant writer. Joker and Jope both have the passion. These three have more spine too. CH should not be some namby pamby profession that simply purrs. It should RAWR!!!!!!
Tivo would be great. SkyPreacher would have been perfect as well. Maestro and Robofish and Blind. There are so many who have walked the trail of tears beside their faithful beasts.
Like Freth, I believe the CH corr should not be afraid to stick his neck out. It is a tough, tough world tiny turtle, you cannot hide in a shell very long.
The CH corr should have the attitude of "lead or follow, but GET THE HELL OUTTA MY WAY".

For the record, I will not be seeking this position. I no more desire any perceived power than I desire to see CH destroyed. This may come as a shock to people who believed I wanted Vert to step down because they thought I wanted office.
I would have done it as a civic virtue if the community had selected me. Obviously SOE has final say. Likely even had I been selected by the community they would have quashed it. I do agree with the people who will be staying there are great choices there.
I mean no offense to anyone, Freth is the best writer of the lot. I know from speaking with him often through other media that he writes first then alters his post often. He checks for tone and clarity but still manages to say the tricky things without being smakced down by the moderators. If there were a negative for Freth it is that he did walk away for long time.
Honestly if Talon were staying he would have my undying support. He is a real freind to me. Our competition to out level each other made becoming MCH fun.
I have much gratitude for those who will apply. Ko-A for being one of the greatst advesaries yet never letting it get in the way of agreeing when the situation were such.
Joe, joker and spreadsheet for always being there in the topic threads. Siobabble for babbling right along side me. Rayne for honestly keeping me fuelled at times, the good and the bad. Enigma you are a true tamers CH, I do not know much else about you but think of you as a mini-Tivo (that is a good thing).
To butt-clowns who think this is about loving to get a position. It is about respect. SOE may take away our pets but they cannot take away that we have stuck it out. There are people I just mentioned that I will flame, spit, flame until the day I quit. But it does not mean they are less. It does mean that I do not agree. My writing style is not about unconditional love. It is about making CH the best.
The point is that this choice is hard given the many criteria I desire in a Corr. To be corr if I were writing my application means taking the heat from both sides. Yes, I realize it is not a game to be won. But there are parties with differing opinions. The Corr is supposed to have the opinion of CH, not SOE. But must have the patience of SOE and quite possibly not that of CH. He must communicate as Freth already stated this post. A point where I often disagreed with Vert. Even if he knows nothing he should say this. Even if he cannot say he knows something, he should say the Devs are aware of it. Even to the point of redundancy. To be Corr is to make sure even the heated posts do not threaten you. Vert avoided contraversy way too often. To be corr means you might lose an hour or two sleep just to make sure you do everything you can. Being corr should mean more to you than it does to me to be CH.
If you can do all of that I will respect you if you get it. If you cannot I will try my best to make sure your slack is taken up. Lead or follow. The infantry slogan is Follow Me, the Infanty Officers say Lead the Way. Everyone can follow. Only a select few will ever truly lead.
Whatever SOE's choice, I know we will suck it up and drive on. We are of course CH it is what we are best at.
Again. Just to make clear the Droid Engineers sometime last year decided to put TheRealTK421 in as Corr SOE honored it. I would have hoped we could have waited it out and had only one person apply. One person that we could mostly agree on because we need more cohesion.

I agree with all thats beensaid, you cannot let the Devs and others dictate what you should say. You should also know when toback off, would hate to see anothersituationlike the AS correspondent. And you should be willing to debate and supply facts to the devs, not argue. I think that is what is the problem with a few correspondants right now, they don't supply all the facts.
I would love to see Theos apply for the position, back in teh old days, he would test CH out on TC and live and supplied all information he foundto the CH community.
I would apply for the position if i had been as big a CH community member as have been on gorath.
