Ooh maybe that was fixed. Or maybe it's a chef apron + gloves issue.

I remember complaintson the chef's apron myself. equipping them knocked out gloves.
I hadn't any wookiee or ithorain crafters seeking the crafter's aprons myself so I could not say to that end.

But... My hands disappear. The arms of the Chef's Apron (Crafter's Apron) end to nothingness. It's kind of creepy.
Yeah that was a problem when wookiees could wear the chef apron with gloves (not the crafting apron but the actual chef apron).

It is either a taunt (draws agro), or it is like warning shot (makes the mob run)....but, maybe I should let a wookiee answer.

First of all wookiee is spelled with two Es man! Two Es!!! Unles you consider yourself a wookieh, in which case... /SMACK Snap out of it!
To answer the question... wookieeroar causes a cone of intimidate in front of you, allowing you to intimidate multiple targets. I never really used this because the timer used to be one hour. I think they have reduced it since then though.

Wookiee-roar works like a frenzy. You get +40 accuracy(sp?) with meele and ranged, but also a -40 on defence.
It was change with the CU, dont ask me why.
