I was one of the first MCH on Bria. I've enjoyed this profession for a long time but, I dont really enjoy it anymore. The 2 main reasons are, the pets are weak and mounts dont sell. Yeah, I'm glad they are adding Bantha's and Cupa's but I think its a bit to late... Sure I'll sell a few in the first few days but after that they will be forgotten. To answer your question, I would have to say, yes. Why?.. Once combat vehicles and space expansion is released, CH will be a lost profession.

P>The rifleman will also not have to spend 5-10 minutes and several thousand credits of stims healing his pets up afterwards. One food or spice (100 credits?) or under a minute of resting the mind bar (free) is all he requires.

The rifleman in your scenario would be better off NOT using his pets.

Wow DeneziB

Same facts slammed in your face by 2 people and once again no response, or are you looking for another point based on theory and not fact again.

And you wonder why we call you Troll.
again go find a nice bridge to scare billygoats under.
Oh wait that's right you don't understand that referance (strange every 5 year old does does)

Severan T'iam (Valcyn) RIP 7/2/2003-5/8/2005.
Master Nerf herder (oops I mean CH oops CH is gone but never forgotten)

Why don't you try this test:

(1) Usingtwo CL35 armored pets, and your rifleman skills, attack a Piket lair, first sending out your pets, then firing your rifle from 60 meters out. Examine your combat log and record how much damage the Pikets did to you.

(2) Using no pets at all, stand 60 meters from the lair and use your rifleman skills to attack the Pikets. Examine your combat log and record how much damage the Pikets did to you.

In Test 1, you will take ZERO damage. In Test 2, you will either be nearly dead, or dead.

This is the advantage of the CH class.

But then again, you're probably one of the incompetent CHs who can't even make 20k credits an hour running missions.

lol, this post was a real laugh. Please tell me your joking right. You really think you can kill Pikets better with Pets.

Try this uber101, dont use your pets but pick up70% Kinetic armor. Go getdoc buffs and dancing/music or food/spice for the mind. Stand there shotting mobs till dead without moving. Tell me where your health stands. If you got decent buffs, you have no damage lol. Your damage is absorbed by the armor and what does get through is healed almost instantly.

So lets see do you call out your pets have them run around like chickens with their heads cut off or just do it your self with armor and buffs, I choose armor and buffs.

I'm currently Master Pistoleer/Master Smuggler, rest in CH but not for long. I was a MCH and it took me 1 min to kill vor hunters with Master Pistoleer and pets, before patch 6. After patch 6, took 2 mins because pet runs around. Now that I'm Pistoleer and Smuggler, I just do a k/d with panic shot, this does a 5-10 sec k/d. I can usually kill Vorts before they even get to me. And if they do, I kill it plain and simple. I have even looked at my stats right after tanking 2 vort hunters........I had no damage listed only a couple wounds.

Now tell me again why CH is needed to take on Pickets.

I've been "pro" this idea since TH suggested a new DH class.A Commander class that incorperates both CH and DCas seperate trees just makes sense:

1. The CH class is already balanced for "handling" things. There are less things to go wrong than implimenting an entire new class.

2. Skills and Classes in SWG are already too "watered down" and spread outfor my tastes, which I believe is one cause forso much unhappiness. As oneexample (theres loads more), many trade classes have trouble offering their goods/services because core funtions (like vendors) were split off into their own class.

3. Less chance of yet more CH nerfs/population bleed. If someone takes DC and CH, how will they deal with "packs"? Have a total CL cap of 70? If you spend twice the amount of skill points taking two classes, is it fair to be limited to an overall cap of 70?If there is an overall cap of 70 even for two classes that "handle", those that want to use droids will leave CH to do so, as there will be another "pet" class then available.

I'd be interested to hear what people see as negatives to the idea and the reasoning behind it, not just "It's a bad idea"...

well I am all for combining CH and DH. I proposed this a few weeks back on both the CH and DE boards and got utterly flamed by every single poster that bothered to respond. anyway I hope people take a minute to think about it this time, before flaming the idea.
