That can't possibly be right. A plodding falumpaset said "Tamable: No"? I need to make a trip to Naboo.

I'm afraid, Vert, it's true. Try the swamps E of Keren, there seem to be a lot of plodding falumps there, at least on Ahazi. Motley kaadus, also, and also "Tamable: No".

I just decided to go for CH, i am 4/0/3/1 in Scout So i am close, but once i hit CH, what are some good pets I should try to tame and what planet are they on. Also when is a good level in CH to go for rancor, etc

AimpaWasfa,
There are a few other threads recently that have this as the main focus. Let me direct you there.

I don't mean to not answer your question, but I think you will find some adequate information in these, plus a lot more in this CH forum.

Back to the thread:
Any other rare pets not listed here that we need to confirm?

It is only 2 weeks old so it is pretty up to date. Especially with the added posts from the CH community. Welcome back.

A general and a specific note, followed by another general bit of advice:

- Master Rangers can be a CH's best friend in finding rare animals, especially those who've been CHs as well, since they can completely understand having affection for your pets and wanting above all else to find that special animal. As far as the skills go, they can accurately track for you and maybe you'll get lucky, and to take myself as an example, I can take you to the exact spot where I spotted my first prowling Gurreck, and describe the general area where that was and the second one I've seen, which is my second and specific note.

- I've spotted a prowling gurreck baby on two different occaisions, general location-wise I'm talking 1K souteast of the Smuggler's Outpost.

For good explorers among you: I'm talking about the eastern downslope of the long west-east mountain that runs about 700m south of the outpost. Go down there and you'll eventually reach the forest plains where the Mantigrues tend to live, keep running towards the big mountain between the two outposts and you'll cross several rivers and there'll be some 'plains' 2m above the others. That area is where I always spot the Prowlers in general, the two babies were both on the slope of the mountain though. I hope I'm explaining it properly so the real explorers can find it in an instant.

hell, all this exploring talk is making me want to renew my subscription after all and map out all the animal spawns, but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for that.

- Get your name out to the explorers. You can try locating that Bull Rancor all on your own, but the chances of finding one are slim because there's really no such thing as finding one, all you can do is run around and hope one spawns and finds you. I would have contacted a CH in my friends list for that Prowling Gurreck baby right away, cept I only know one CH and she's low level.

If you really want that rare animal, being contacted when someone else stumbles upon it is a big help.

While I can't promise I'll even log on again (see my signature about the subscription ending june 22), I will happily offer my game-mail to any rare-pets-seeking CHs out there on Chilastra. Mail your desired pet to me and if you know any usual locations for it that can always help. Again, I can't promise any results because I'm very likely quitting the game, but IF I log on again for real and explore, an extra set of eyes can't hurt.

Perhaps other Rangers are happy to do the same.

my apologies for the double post, the first time I hit submit it told me I needed a fanclub subscription, so I didn't think it got through and replied again.

GTOfire,

I believe I know of the area you are speaking of on Endor. I haven't been to that specific location in many months. Also, tracking in Ranger is very helpful. I still have it for now, all my other Ranger skills are dropping by the wayside for a few months. I still haven't found any Bull Rancor babies on track. Actually any babies I do tend to find on track usually despawn by the time I get to them, either that or they are killed (but no corpses) or are tamed. The despawn thing happens about 80% of the time.

Thank you for the reminder about Rangers. Quite a few of the MCHs here have tracking in the Ranger tree also, but for those that don't, remember that they are out there.

I find it pretty strange that the modified CL 10 creatures which were meant for non-chs to have as mounts are no longer tameable. If this is intentional, then the devs must have something planned. If its unintentional, then its a big nerf on the devs part, at least BEs were able to pick up the pecies from there, for better (for them) and worse (for us).

Well I printed out your list and with the help of swgcreatures.com started looking for some of these rare beasties.

Progress so far:

2 Great Plains Stalkers (LUCKY LUCKY LUCKY) nuf said

Bull Rancors: 20+ lairs and counting...Nice paycheck tho =)

  • Arachne Widow: I have only seen 1 lair in the wild and it spawned like crazy! No babies, but a few exciting minutes.

  • Mantigrue Screecher : 10-15 lairs so far and no babies. NASTY disease! Again nice pay

  • Merek Deaths Head : settled for a blood stained. Random lairs seem fairly common not so the babies.

  • Swamp Stalker : Tamed one of these beauties yesterday... baby poped on 3rd round. Had to save it from Trade Fed guys and the ungratefull lil thing attcked me. Not the greatest as far as stats go, but to the "collector" still nice. Very pretty Kitty.

  • Rhoa Kwi Pack Leader : Got lucky on a Bull Rancor hunt. His family even helped me with them.=) Pretty decent pet.

  • Piket Longhorn : Had one of these from way back. "set him free" to make room for something else.

  • Gurreck :I have to admit these cats stumped me for a while. Once I did find a spawn I made off with 3 babies (one is for sale hehe) ONE ROCK HARD CAT! The answere to the GPS for those not wanting to devote their lives hunting them.

  • Still lookin for the screecher. I dont PvP at all, but this thing has COOTIES that might change my mind on that.

I also hunt the ole GPS once a week or so

Great list! Thanks alot for the time!

    KEEP ON TAMING!!!

WHO IS GOING TO KEEP JABBA'S RANCOR NOW?

Regarding the kinad baz nitch. I've only ever seen one of these once, despite spending more time than I'd like on Dathomir. It's a sole spawn, these guys don't run in packs.I enclose a screenshot (I habitually screenshot things I've never seen before):

I was doing Ranger at the time so I picked up a little more info than reg CH would, unfortunately I had to drop CH to do Ranger so I didn't make any attempts at using the spawn to get a baby.

I'll go looking again once I remaster CH (hopefully today).

in my experience, Kinad's are usually in distant pairs. Where there's one, there's another, but it might not be close enough to be on the radar yet. Never saw a baby of it (didn't look for one, that might help), but they're quite common when you get to the southern plains of Dathomir, a bit east of your general Greater Malkloc Plainswalker spawn areas.

The post above about having others on the look out for rare pets is a very good one. I made it from the sticks on Yavin 4 to the middle of Endor in record time when my friend called saying he was following a Death Head baby. Several slow shuttles and a speeder that wouldn't generate raised my blood pressure 50 points. My friendwas alternately yelling "Hurry" and "Help" as he ran for his life while trying to keep the baby in sight, After what seemed like a half hour speeder trip I arrived, masked and started to approach. The DH babyjust walked over to me and "bingo" ...one taming attempt and he was mine,

I was thankful enough I gave my badly wounded friend a substantial "finder's fee" I never thought I would find one in the open. A one in a million shot

P.S. It was fun to read the comments as I tamed the DH in Coronet. There were several along the lines of "Oh gawd, I hate those things" Hehehe

Don't you just love it? I got all kinds of comments from this Novice CH when I showed her my Merek Cavern Creeper, Arachne Warrior, and Gaping Spider variations. I guess she doesn't like spiders, so now she may never go to Endor or Dath. Sorry.
