AMEN! You put it perfectly. The devs have KILLED this profession. They took away EVERYTHING and gave us WHAT???? Ranged attacks and special attacks that DO NOT WORK! I worked for months to get to MCH and for what??? Nothing my rancor gets killed in two hits by a TK novice. And I have no hope. My alternate profession is Carbineer which is also WORTHLESS. I do more damage to myself with the stupid way the carbines beat you up than I do to the opponnent. So I have two WORTHLESS and completely BROKEN professions. Where is the fun in that. I could go for some other professon but the devs would likely REBALANCE it out of existence as soon as I invest months in reaching master level.

Why don't they try a novel idea and FIX the broken stuff in the game and quite KILLING off professions that people have INVESTED time and money into achieving. I suggest they put things back to before the december patch or better yet back to it's original form or they will start losing PAYING customers in packs.

But it appears that CUSTOMER service and CUSTOMER SATISFACTION is an unheard of concept for these guys.

I think he was far to kind on the state of the CH after the last Nerf. We are weak in PvE and worthless in PVP. The pets from the wild are worthless. We can only do missions for money.

Rare are so rare that it will kill off the last of the Tamers in CH.

-and they suck when compared to BE clones.

One very frustrated CH.

Have the devs even taken notice of the uber non-ch and uber low CL pets?...

The only reason I bought htis game was to be a Master CH, I got the game pre-NERF Patch of course, and I logged a few weeks before the damage came. I am very quickly losing my desire to play this game while it is so unbalanced for this profession. When I first started, CH had a chance against most large animals, but now, I burn through pet stims just to keep my pets alive. Thats no good! I used to hunt with friends and their Graul Maulers, and they would be able to go head to head with most creatures and still be alive, but not now, a few hits and they are dead and so are we.... I hope this is fixed before they start losing people like me, I have no desire to do any other profession.

I have made sure the Devs are aware of the extremely powerfulLow CL bio-engineeredpets. I'm afraid that's all I can really say on that subject at the moment.

Thanks for all the great feedback and praise, everyone. I suspected there would be a few areas in need of further detail, and the replies in this thread have been great for expanding upon them.

OOPS..sorry Vertexeron,

I think I was resopnding the question above the one you looked at. They want to know if the devs realize the desparity concerning the lack of ggod pets and serious lack of the so called "rare pets".

Go back and read the post that is title (Rare and Uber pets?) Or something like that.

Basically people arer disgusted with the serious lack of pets and many think the so called rare pets are actually non-existant and we are pretty fed up with this profession at this point......we feel that BEs have made the whole point of CH, tamming and hunting for pets, a moot point and the DEVS have killed the core substance for fun in this profession will yet another fatal nerf.

Tamable pet stat reductions have killed the CH profession. Why should a CH even bother going out and getting babies when a BE can make pets that far exceed any of the highest wild pet capabilities? Aside from a scant few pets here and there (and rares), there are no real babies worth having for combat situations. So I ask you, what is a CH to do? We've lost our ability to function alone. A wookiee can't have armor and the only viable combat profession we can master if we want to keep MCH and scout is TKM, which is futile since we get the snot kicked out of us by our target. We're no a non-combat profession with no economy. Non-CH pets are so weak that they're not even worth getting. (NOTE: This IS good because non-CH's shouldn't have powerful pets anyway) Mounts are useless now since most people can purchase vehicles for about the same price as a mount. There is no market for CH pets anymore. I've spent days since the patch trying to sell pets within a wide variety of ranges. People are always asking me for non-CH pets and I refuse to get them because a non-CH pet isn't worth the time or effort to tame. A pet with 750 HAM just isn't going to cut the mustard in a combat situation.

So where does this leave the CH profession? In dire straits I would say. No economy. No good tamable combat pets unless you want to spend days on lairs and even those have questionable stats. No mount viability. No combat power for missions. What are we left with? I've succomed to the BE pet alternative because I have no other way to get pets that are worthy of combat. I disagree--a single CL 50 pet doesn't do the job of two level 35's. For one thing, a single pet doesn't hold off a target enough to keep it from running after you. If you're a wookiee like me you can't withstand too many hits from anything level 30+. I've always preferred dual pets. Right now my best two pets are a pair of narglatch BE's. Two pets hold a target off of you and I've found I can at least kill one arachne queen, one mantrigue screecher, one frenzied graul or two grassland voritors at once. This is respectable, but still nowhere near the former glory of the Bile-Drenched Quenker or Graul Mauler.

I've said it before and I'll say it again... a MASTER CREATURE HANDLER should be able to have at least one really nice pet. I'm not talking a measley level 55, I'm talking a nice level 70 pet that's tamable. A MCH should also be able to have two nice level 35's. Right now the stats just aren't quite there in my opinion. I'm still testing different dual pet combos to see what works best. MCH deserves more. Enough with the rare spawn babies... give us the capability of having the creatures we want. We earned it. Give us mount capability for most creatures, not just a select few. We're supposed to be masters here. My status and combat abilityas an MCH is now determined by myBE pets. This is plain wrong.

The devs need tofocus again on CH and give us back some of what they took away. They robbed us blind, like a thief in the night. Make MCH a title worthy of having.

BE pets arn't all there cracked up to be. They suck just as much in PVP. I have several of them including the vaunted Kimo and they get fried and mind f*&ked just like creatures from the wild. If your not interested in pvp why do u really need a bio pet? The Creature Handler positon has to be taken from the combat area of proffesions all together and putalong side thatof dancer and chef. I say this as a soon to be X MCH.

Depends on what BE pet you get and the resists. My level 69 kimo is pretty darn powerful. Like I said in my last post in this thread, I prefer two level 35's over one level 50-70 pet. That's because two level 35's are just plain tougher in a fight, do more damage and hold a mob from coming after you better. Maskscent and Master Scout bonuses help quite a bit too.

I'm definitely not interested in PVP. I'm a neutral MCH and I'm going to stay that way. I look at my character from a role-playing perspective. I like creatures and I like taming them. That's the sole purpose of my character, to find new creatures and tame them. Creature Handler is just that, to hand creatures. In my opinion it was never meant as a fighting profession first, even though we could wield strong creatures. I need BE pets to be able to hand the process of getting babies from lairs. If a lair is being stingy I have two choices: 1) move on and find another, 2) stay and kill everything there is at the lair to work the lair some more. If done right you can work a lair for hours. To do this you need pets that can handle the biggest creatures. My narglatches are level 29 and 30 with 60 kinetic and other similar resists. One has strong poison/strong disease... the other strong poison/stunning strike. They are able to take out high level creatures effectively as long as I'm standing in the background drilling the target with Pistoleer. Used to be I could take two graul up against anything short of the harder Dath stuff and Krayts and win without a problem. I am working on getting back to that point with BE's because I need the strength to get the higher level rares. So, yes... there is a real purpose for me to have BE's.

It bugs me that MCH's focus on PVP instead of the profession as it was meant to be... the love of creatures first and the will to use them in a fight if necessary. Not the love of creatures for sending them into battle against your enemies. That's part of what the patch was trying to remedy--powermongers and dabblers. Well, now BE has taken the CH's place as a dabbler supplier. In the end CH got the shaft and BE took over the CH economy.

As an MCH, sure I want the biggest and the best... because I feel as a master I deserve it. It makes me angry that a wookiee MCH can't have Master Scout, Master CH and master a fighting profession other than TKM. In my opinion Master Scout is a prerequisite for MCH because its stat bonuses go hand-in-hand with MCH. Either give me the points to master a fighting profession that goes along with my pets, or give me stronger pets again. Wookiees were made for this profession. Not only have the devs screwed MCH, they've screwed wookiees as well.

Another point I'd like to make...

Even with the max pets we can get as MCH's, even with BE's, we're still not able to do the damage of some of the fighting classes. Maybe that wasn't meant to be, but I do think it would be nice to have the meat and potatos when you need it.

Verexton,
Great job in mentioning some of the problems that have arisen in creature handling!!!!! I was going to say a lot more, but what's the use? Maybe if the devs showed us some interest in what everyone was saying I would post something more. It's just sad that they did this to a class who was suppose to be something feared. Not a circus side show=(
