Just a question here, didnt readed anything above, and with search i found only very old threads that it is bugged, is the friend commando now working as described in the knowledge base (e.g. a friend of me calls his lvl10 pet makes friend on me with that, and i am able to control the creature in combat) ?
31. XP rewards for successfully taming/training do not scale appropriately with creature difficulty (more XP should be awarded for taming/training more powerful creatures)
really cant agree with that. For me CH is one of the last Professions that actually takes time and is fun to play. It would just become the samesh** like at combat professions, the lower boxed with 1/8th of the xp of a level4 box takes much longer than the high level skills, thats something i really like on CH that high level boxes take longer than the low level, and i think that should stay so...
For me CH isnt something i am doing to run around guarded by uber creatures to kill every other creature or player that crossed my way, its a very cool Roleplaying Profession, and i had the funniest situations with it....
Keep the time needed to grind it as it is (and hey i know there are players grinding it in geoLab within one buff round to Master)

I like the list.
However, I must admit that I am not optimistic about getting anything that will really return CH to a profession of which to be proud.
Why?
Besides the fact that the devs seem to have significant distaste for "pokemon", theonly change that will really matter is making pets stronger. It's easy to understand how they would not wish to return to such an unbalanced system of power as existed upon release(3 rancors anyone?).
That's really the only thing that will allow CH to be a useful addition to combat situations.
Note: I DO like a lot of the other suggestions and how they will enhance the playability and texture of the class. I especially like the "storage barn" idea and the seperate pop-up window to keep track of pet health. But the primary problem with our class is a lack of combat-relevant creatures.
Problem:
We need to get some truly powerful pets, but we cannot return to the days of yore when every idiot that could figure out his interface ran around with 2 75% kr graul maulers - or worse if you go farther back.
Solution:
1. Make some powerful, tameable creatures.
- Relieve SWG of the embarassment of the Rancor. Make this thing a stud.
- Kimos.
- Other things... let your imagination run wild.
2. Alter the spawn tables to create insane rarity for our new useful creatures.
- I don't mean make them kind of uncommon. Make them as rare as a dev comment on this board (yes, that was cheap).
Community: But Zarniwooop! We HATE how rare the bull rancor is! I can't even find a GPS! Why do you want to INCREASE our frustration?!
Zarniwoop: Because the one thing the devs cannot allow to happen in any rebalance, is another rush by the player-base into the new overpowered template.
It must be hard enough to find one of these, that only someone that REALLY enjoys CH and the long, lonely hours will find and tame these things... which leads me to my next point....
3. Have an exponentially decreasing likelihood of a successful tame starting at creature level 60 and continuing up to level 70.
Community: But Zarniwooop! I HATE failing a tame over and over.Sometimes my camo fails after an unsuccessful tame and I get a free ride back to the cloning center!
Zarniwooop: Alas, this is the trade-off for the new possibility of having a purpose in this game outside being a stamp-collecter.
So there you have my take on the issue.
We need really useful creatures, but only attainable via a process that will eliminate all but the steadfast.

Zarniwoop, I have to agree. Indeed, they should add powerful creatures and then MAKE THEM RARE. However, I think Seven months like some people have encountered is pushing it a bit. I mean, guys make Jedi faster than that.

One issue i feel really needs to be thought about is the MCH 3 pets ability. Unless you enjoy using 3 Leviasqualls, the 3 pet ability may as well be a broken special.
Pet levels either need to be reduced (the dabbler craze is dead), or MCH needs a highernumber of pet levels so we can control worthy pets in pairs of 3.
Fix my broken special please. I do not care if you give CH a 100% reduction ablilityin pvp but allow us MCH's to control more than 3 Gnorts, I want to control 3 worthy pets.

Just a thaught i had yesterday night while trying to find a bull bantha baby...
Merchants have Merchant Tents to have a place for there vendors, Entertainers have their cantinas, and Doctors there Medical Center.
What about adding something like a creature show building, where u find areas of cages. CH could then add a pet to such a cage, the pet will then run around in there like it would live in the wilderness (but not attacking visitors). CH would with that get a good ability to carry more pets as he would then be able to drop his pets, also to make it more fun to have such, it should be needed to donatemeat and water to the building (like resources in a faction base) so the pets get something to eat and drink. It could then be also used to maybe attach a baby pet onto it.
But to get the baby growing in there u will then need to attach also a full grown pet to it that acts then like the pets mother.
It should all be inside a building so people can build up a "creature show" building and set access fee to it.
And now the funny thing about it, lets say the building would get 5 cages (btw it should be a city building like cantina maybe rank3 or rank2, but not placeable outside city), so if u would come to the idea to get into the same cage a rancor and a bantha, it should act like they would meet in the wilderness, the rancor will eat the bantha (however the player should get a warning).
To determine what is possible with it, there should be a managament terminal on every cage, when one pet is then in, it should be able to display a list of all creatures in your datapad that could coexist in there with the current pet.
Additional, as the building cant be 200m long, every cage should have an "area" value, like 20qm area, now when attaching a pet, it needs some area for his own, determined of two values, speed and size. A fast creature needs more area than a slow one, and a big one i think its logical that it needs more area.
So it would not be possible to attach a Kimogila tosuch, but maybe a normal rancor would be possible, it should be fine selected what is possible and what not, so not that there are then pets in u cant see as a whole as they are bigger then the cage.

That idea was mentioned in #3, a Stable structure. There are like 50 threads about it going on right now in the CH forums.

Vert,
Why bother? Why bother telling you for the 100th time what our top issues are when CH is constantly ignored by this Development team? What's the point?
Why not just say, you know what's wrong fix it, cause pointing out to them all the things that are bugged over and over and over again and then watching publish after publish after publish come out with zero fixes makes me feel like the man who is standing next to a wall yelling at the wall to move.
No more lists of things that need fixing. It is absolutely the height of vanity.
Vanity all is vanity.

Well thats exactly the point, i think we all now of previous Publishes how easy it must be for the devs to change things like spawn rates and drops (e.g. crystal drop, lootkit item drop which where increased within some days) and so on, so i think the point of increasing spawn rates for the rare babies so that it isnt anymore a job longer than grinding from new char to Jedi Knight would be a fix that would take some minutes of a dev...

Hmmm..... I would have to agree that the CH profession is largely ignored. This proven by the fact that there have beenno real changes or upgrades for several publishes. Unless you count more creatures going extinct. However, I do not feel that it is just the CH class being ignored but rather several key important professions. I imagine a large part of thisis because of the problems associated with putting Jedi in the game and its related publishes. I'd probly be safe in saying that Commandos and Bounty Hunters are still upset at howJedi block things like flamethrowers and heavy weapons. Assuming that is still going on heh since I don't play one of those professions. Simply put. Jedi extremely unbalanced the game (some may even say they still unbalance the game)and even have some quite silly powers. I mean.... I've seen them out run Cu Pa for goodness sakes. Whoever thought of force run must of had some fantasy of Darth Vader racing CuPa and Swoop Bikes while on foot onTattooine. How does that make me feel about my prized Wasteland Cu Pa for a mount? Heh, the one that slows down in combat so I get killed so now I have to carry a speeder bike and never use my mount. I don't feel there is anything wrong with Jedi in the game but the way they were put in SWG created a whole mass of problems and continues to do so. No other profession has received as much attention or fixes. In fact, I'd probly be safe in saying that it has received more attention than that of all other professions put together and likely has even caused more problems than all professions put together. This, and also the introduction of Jump to Light Speed has probly had everyone quite busy on the said developement teams. Of course, JTL also means more incoming money and profits so of course thats going to be given priority as well. It is kind of a shame that they don't do more for CH as they seem to have no problem finding small exploits and taking care of that. Some problems devs simply ignore. For example, I got negative faction with Imperials because a stormtrooper tried to inspect me while I was in the middle of combat with a NPC creature. Because I was moving I got negative faction. I wrote in a ticket and the response I got summed up to thats too bad but theres nothing I can do to fix it. The impression I am given is that unless it involves an exploit or profits, that the requestsmadeby playerswill largely go ignored. Many requests on this forum have been very very reasonable and even trivial in some cases yet they never even make it into concept phases. Some of these requests have been very long in standing so its not like no one had the time to help improve CH. In fact, changes often are made to CH that we never even wanted or needed. I still like being a CH. I don't like the fact that it has been nerfed into oblivion but came to terms to that awhile ago. I could of easily been a Combat Medic or some other combat profession as could any of us who are CH. We stick with it because CH is cool and we like our beasties. Sometimes I think our devotion is mistaken by the developement team as everything must be fine with the profession. Well.... Its not! So.... Every now and then I put a little whine or maybe a suggestion or two on the forum in the case that my posts will not just be heard but will actually be put into effect. I do believe that this forum and all of our suggestions are read. Whether anyone has the power to put those suggestions into effect or even care is another story. Heh. Anyone on the payroll is gonna get his paycheck whether he implements your suggestion or not. This is not to imply that there is -no one- trying to help our CH profession. For anyone out there who is I certainly do appreciate it but often the players here do feel quite alone and ignored. We haven't even had a small bone thrown in our direction to gnaw on so why should the player base of CH expect any real main course of significant changes and fixes to the CH class. The truth of the matter is that players have little impact or at least it seems that way. Its only when new games come out like EQII or even some other game like a Online HALO2 or whatever and everyone disappears that they take notice and decide to fix something to bring everyone back. Often by that time its too late. Course EQII is a bad example cause we know who owns that but you get the idea. So.... The best we can do is wait and wait some more. But hey.... We have to have at least something wrong with our profession or we would have nothing to gripe about. Now wouldn't that be boring.

These lists do change as older issues get addressed and new ones arise. Note that pet autostoring doesn't seem to be nearly as big of an issue as it once was (it was #1 for months).
If you don'tbelieve keeping our lists up to date is a worthwhile activity, feel free to opt out of postingin them. They are, in fact, quite valuable to the Dev team and I have every intention of continuing to make them in the future. When they do get more time to address our issues, I don't want them worrying about something from six months ago that isn't even as much of a problem anymore.

Maybe we should replace the auto store with the Warp to who knows where. Has happened several times
to me. Pet shows it is still out but group is disbanded and I have to "store " the pet and then recall....after the delay!
