In fact.. I belive it does. I have tested this. I remeber my Great aplins stalker whaen I tamed it I was using the first day. At the end of day 2 it was level 25 jumped from level 12 or so. If it does work or not.. I will never know unless told. But till then do it cause in my eyes I believe its true, but you need a special touch.

I have never gotten a pet to grow faster with fighting. The key statistic seems to be time online. There also seems to be a minimum per day. If you show up for only 5 minutes that day it will grow by a tenth of its total level.

I picked up 4 female nargalches. I'm fighting 3 of them everyday and I won't call the fourth. I got them all at the same time.

I should know for sure if this is true or not in a couple of days.

calling pets, combat, feeding its all a myth, the growth rate is 12hr intervals and you must login for these intervals to effect growth, for example before 10am in the morning and before 10pm at night.

This is what I have experienced, however the myth of feeding your pet to grow it was somewhat supported by inaccurate documentation from SOE. I remember reading either in the manual, holocron, or Knowledge Base a long time ago that said feeding your pets would have an effect on growth. It said that feeding wouldspeed upgrowth and also effect the final size of the pet, so that tamed pets could actually be larger than their wild cousins. I have never known this to be true, and I dont know if I can find the documentation to back it up, but I do recall reading that, not hearing it from someone. I always thought it was a neat idea since tamed pets would take on unique characteristics reflecting their life in captivity.

I agree with the others who say that the rate appears to be time/login dependent, and not based on combat. However, I have known CHs who have sworn up and down that using them in combat makes them grow faster. /shrug.

Before the CU, it definitely worked. I had a graul mauler reach maturity in two days after giving him thorough workouts at low and midlevel. I haven't yet seen any effect like that in the new system, using a fambaa and a bolle bol. But I just tamed a rancor, so I'll give it a try with him.

Trust me combat doesnt do anything

What people mistake for combat helping is the time they are logged in. If you play everynight at the same time and 3 hours into game play you tame something then the next night it will grow around 3 hours into game play. since people are playing they think having the pet out and using it helped, meanwhile is just the clock.

I tested thi a year ago believe me as much as I would want a quicker way to grow some of my pets, it really is a simple clock timer.

I'm a novice CH and I have about 4 tamed pets. . . none of them I have used in combat since they are just too weak. They are all growing still though.

Yes, your pets grow even in your datapad. However, the question is do they grow faster if you fight them.

My early results are showing this to be a fact. I got 4 female narglatches. I got 2 on one lair one day and 2 more on another the next day.

I've nevered used one of them and of the remaining3 they are growing at different rates. I believe it has something to do with how much damage they take or deal (or both).

You pets grow ever few hours (I think it might be 12). It's how much they grow on each "growth interval" that is my question.

Currently, it does look like they grow faster when they fight.

I know back in the day when I was a CH everyone believed that calling pets again and again helped them grow, as did sending them into combat.

Rather those things are true or not, they are something I always believed in.

Well I havent really "tested" this, but I tamed two wrix last week, both within 30 minutes of each other, and have been using the same one every day in combat with all levels of MOBs. The other hasnt been called since the day I tamed it. Both are growing at the same rate.
