Right now only theorb and I know of this but I plan to share it with joker and jope as a form of added external verification. I am counting on you guys not to spill the beans just verify what we discovered.

I take the possibility of the FOTMproblem very seriously. You're absolutely right. People will flock to CH like stink on pudu if they caught wind of it. Definitely keep it under wraps. I can't believe how some of our fellow CH's are acting, berating you for keeping it a secret. It makes perfect sense.
A suggestion... even after the respec is dropped, I think you should be selective who you tell about this, otherwise you'll have people bragging about it on the boards and to their friends. If it's truly what you say it is it needs to stay hush hush in my opinion.
Sometimes it is a good thing to wait with communicating until you really have something to communicate - otherwise you will find yourself backpaddling up a creek...

If you have "information" on CH tell the rest of the people in your profession................so they can make a decision............
I hate to tell you but you are not "special" you do not deserve "a cookie" there are other professiosn that have been nerfed just as bad as you (cough BH cough)
and others that have been broked just as long (cough smuggler, commando cough)
and some just as usless (cough carbineer cough) Man did using specials hurt unbuffed..............
And fianlly yes I was a MCH *before* the great nerf of Dec '03......................
I dropped MCH for MBH as pets no longer tank, and I wind up playing solo allot, now Post apoclyptic CU(its really not that bad, I quite like the cahnges verry much)MBH/Carbineer lets me do this where as MCH/Carbineer does not..........go figure................

I was surprised to see this thread made but I understand Dodoce's excitement lol. When have we seen him this excited on the forums. It's good to see a little excitement i a positive way here.
I really can't say much more other than I can relate to both sides of the coin here.
Hopefully in the next day or two things will work out and settle down.
Look just give a hint it can be an obscure hint that way you will 1.) still be keeping your word 2.) satisfy the readers of this thread and give us somthing to do while we wait for the real answer. you could make it a riddle even.

I gotta second that one. Rubbish like this only gets in the way of people enjoying the game. This entire respec process is a chance for people to find a template that suits them and that gives them enjoyment in playing the game. That goes for CH's too. There are a lot of people who might want to try other professions because they aren't getting enjoyment out of CH anymore, and this respec process is the perfect chance for them to swtich to something that makes them happier. People can't make decisions like that when others decide to play this silly 'i've got a secret' game with game info. 'Cuz of folks like this we have to decide whether we want to keep CH or not, or pick it up or not, based on unverified rumors.
In this game, information is key, and there is a lot of information that's not in the official documentation. The game community relies upon its own members to disseminate this information, thus making the game a more community-based, enjoyable experience. Look at all those FAQ and Howto posts that are stickied in every profession. THOSE are the people who help make the swg community helpful and informative. Those are the posts that help. Those are the posts that ALL of us relied on when choosing our professions and grinding them out.
This 'I know something you don't know' stuff is the exact opposite of that.

The only reason I have not respec'd dropping my MCH and deleteing my Rares(baby bull et al.) is the fact that I have hope that the devs will fix this excuse for a shell proffession.

What are you thinking........I have until the 8th to get some reason to stay as an MCH. But everything has been taken away from me.
1) Strategy(There are no Specials) . the use of specials and the implementation of them was great...finding babies with the specific combinations and pairing them up with other babies for different occasions was a never ending adventure.
2) Collections(Everything is tameable): Everything is tameable....there were FG's tamed withing 20 min of the CU going live. Before to walk up to another CH and compare stories and tactics and then spending the time to hunt for these rares was a great part of SWG for me( I still get shivers every time I see a GPS).
3) Group play(non-controlability of pets and lack of tanking ability): It was great that CH's were desirable. ok so we got nerf'd and people bought buffs and composites...but we could still hold our own with some high end mobs.
I Want to be a CH, I like being a CH....but as is right now we are not creature handlers...they are just shells...and it saddens me.
I don't give a rats arse what other people do. I care about my love for CH......and when you come into these forums and do what you did above. Thats just wrong. Spill the beans and let every CH who read these forums have some hope and some reason not to cancel their accounts or/and drop CH.

Here is my 2 cents for what it is worth
Alot of people have held onto creature handler for along time in the hope that it would be fixed. I am one of them.
Based on the CU, xp is not coming easily or plentiful anymore. 1xp for a kill makes for lots of quenkers you need to grind to just get 1 box in a combat profession. This means alot of people have to make a tough choice as to whether CH is worth keeping or not.
The respec makes it easy to toss the CH skills you have an pickup another combat profession that is closer to working.
If you have information that might help making our decision a little easier before we cant respec anymore then I think we need to know.
Again, just me 2 cents.
