Creature Handler Archive
Thread: New Hope for Handlers
CH is Star Warsy, there have been pets and mounts in every movie.
We know that the less than 1% thing is bull.
Fitting into the new combat system? Pets work basically the same way as droids (except pets are way cooler), right? The coding has to be pretty similar, and they had to already have worked out any interface problems with the droids. Why are droids in and pets out?
So I ask again, what's the real reason? They can't think of a good picture to use for their "Iconic Profession" start screen?
The squeeky wheel gets oiled. Keep making noise.
I am SO sick of this crap about pets and people who train them not being "starwarsy"
Did these people even watch the movies?
Who trained the Ton Tons on Hoth?
The gungans didnt even use any vehichles in ground combat, they rode into battle on Kadus, carried their equipment on Falumpasets and Fambaas.
And Jabba the Huts Executioner was a Creature handler with a Rancor.
I wish I was at this meeting
Please after what they did with the expansion and necklace do you really believe them???
Come on how foolish can you be to even remotely tell us here that they will someday try, theres hope blah blah blah.
You know deep down in your heart they will say wahatever it takes tostop the flow of cancellations and the truth of the situation from being splattered to magazines and across the forums.
ko
i luv ya man, but I know if I was sitting in your living room and asked you how you really felt you would say "I don't believe em" I know you feel bad and alittle responsible and want to keep a glimmer of hope. But thats not really a good thing. This profession is like a terminal disease with a1 in 80 million chance of survival the quicker people came to grips with the reality of the situation the better off they will be.
To believe they will shelve ch for the future and someday merge itis like waiting for snow in hell.
You all know it, lets be honest with ourselves. Don't be a soe/swg tool and help spin the threads of hope tosave a sinking ship. After what the last few weeks have shown us its all about the money, they will do and say anything to meet those goals.
For the record, here are the five stages of grief, as outlined by some researcher whose name escapes me at 4:30 am....
- Denial: Shock, numbness. The brain's first response to traumatic events. Allows the mind to absorb the reality of the event in increments small enough for the person to bear.
- Anger: The victim lashes out, looking for the cause of the situation. Can serve a productive function by energizing the victim during the early stages of absorbing the reality of the situation.
- Bargaining: The person searches frantically for an alternative to, or an escape from, the situation
- Grief: The full weight and reality of the situation finally settles in on the person. Characterized by depression, feelings of loss, and hopelessness.
- Acceptance: Closure and recovery. The person chooses to move on after his or her loss.
They have been working on this for at least a year while throwing smokescreens. Bugs in the original release have gone without fixing for 2 and a half years. I would not hold my breath for ch making its way back before the servers are filled with IPwnJooNooBs people. Personally I am happy that the devs of swg have pushed me out the door.
And yes I have been on test center, no it is not an upgrade, at least in my opinion.

Ok I'm going to point out a few things here SOE and let this sink into your wee little brains....
How in the world can you say it's NOT star warsy...
There are pets IN star wars, Nym has the dogs, Jabba has the creepy little monkey that laughed all the time, Luke had R2-D2, Han had the ton ton Jawas had the bols, Tuskians have the banthas, The Nightsisters have their Rancors, the nabooian domesticated cat riders have the Tusk cats, the Gungians have the Kaduus and Fambaas, and so forth...so SOE DON'T give us ANY Crap about CH NOT being part of Star Wars!!!!
DO NOT TAKE CH AWAY FROM US!!!! We love this profession, and after ALL..YOU PROMISED THAT CH'S WOULD BE ABLE TO LOOT A CH TAMING NECKLACE TO TAME CREATURES UP TO LEVEL 80!!!!
Unless you BAITED & SWITCHED & LIED TO THE WORLD, Do NOT Take away CH AT ALL!!!
Unless you want to be known as a Gaming company that Lies to their Customers and doesn't keep your word, just take it out. NO One will Ever believe you or your lieing Devs again!!!
As for making it Star Warsy, than allow people to be able to be Jawas and Tuskian Raiders and the blue people and so on.

I hope you didnt take my post as an angry insult towards you, or though I meant you were being a yes man. after reading your reply I get the feeling what I wrote was partially misunderstood.
