you could also just turn in a CL 11 cupa to a CH trainer and it should reduce to a CL 10 variant. would be the same system as the CL 15 pet turn in.

Ummm.....

This might not work. What would the CL 11 cu pa be turned into? A kwi, perhaps?

Yeah, it does turn into a Kwi and my buddy was very disappointed. My Bantha turned into a Lesser Bol and I too was very disappointed.

Some of my pet peeve bugs:
•Armorsmith protection layers were not converted with the CU.
•Ship Details window does not close when you click "Travel" resulting in the message "You have lost the target. Closing interface."

Looks like you have to break your legs to ride a Bantha lol

Nah, lol. Just stretch properly before mounting. It's such a cool mount, I'd ride it upside down if I had to.

Cool cool, the two pets I had when I was but a wee CH that I wanted to use above all others as mounts were, of course, my Bull Bantha and my Wasteland Cu pa (the Cu pa mostly). I got rid of them awhile backbecause they were not on the original mount list and I needed the space, but picked up a couple new babies in anticipation of this publish I just hope these variants are mountable, which should be the case, as all other variants of the previous mounts were mountable, but ya just never know!

I also hope the Cu pa's are among the faster mounts, ie: the Kaadu's and Spat's

It is obscene that this is a CL9 pet. It should be, at a minimum, CL15, and only after that health pool is dropped around 2k points.

Siobabble,

...and to think I have seen much better stats for CL 10's....visit the BE boards and have a look at some of the creatures being made.

I will say that I always sell my pets at a lower cost to CH's. CH's are still very important to my business, without you I cannot have my BE pets trained. I usually sell to CH's by multiplying my regular cost to Non-CH's by a factor of 0.80. Hopefully then the CH can make some money themself.

Jakber,

I don't doubt it, which is why the BE stuff is so totally out of hand. How is it that a non-CH can command a creature that a novice CH cannot hope to tame in the wild?

The "combat balance" that was the entire justifcation of the massive buldgeoning (not nerf...nerf is not sufficiently violent enough a word to convey the damage done) of creatures in December, and the radical reshuffling of the CH skill tree are utter jokes when BEs can field creatures as strong as this and they're CL10 and below creatures. A natural creature with these status would be at LEAST a CL 15, possibly as high as CL 20, given the HAM strengths.

No non-CH should be able to command that much tanking power. Why bother with the skill point investment in CH if you can have a beast with taht much ability?

I don't begrudge the BEs the fact that they can now craft critters that people want. It's just that CHs and natural creaturers were radically changed, for the worse, in the name of combat balance, and then the devs turn around and give the power that CHs commanded before, and MORE, to non-CHs with the BE changes.

This as close to taun-tauns we'll ever get unless going to Hoth. I'm seriously considering selling all my speeders

SioBabble,

Please don't take this as a flame at you or a rant. I will not claim to know about the CH profession nor do I claim to know anything about the BE overhaul in the last patch (only recently started selling pets). With the ability of BE to craft such high HAM pets isn't this a benefit to non-ch's and ch's.

At this moment I cannot craft many high level pets but I have seen many posted in the BE forums. These BE engineered novice CH pets are much more powerful than BE engineered non-CH pets. Is the gripe (for lack of a better term) due to BE being able to craft more powerful pets than are in the wild? But isn't that the design feature, of course a BE who can craft a pet using different DNA from different creatures and then blend them should be ableto get a more powerful pet. Just as in real life, the bioengineered tomato that is resistant to disease whereas the non-bioengineered tomato cannot.

I guess the question's too be posed are:

  1. "Is the design of the CH profession for selling of wild creatures or simple a profession to handle creatures be they wild or BE made". - To which I don't have the knowledge of the CH skills.

  2. "Is the design of BE for selling of wild creatures that can be modified and therefore made to be more damaging or higher health" - Of course it is.

  3. Wouldn't a CH, be they novice or master want to use a BE enhanced pet?- Seeing the stats I would think so.

Lets not forget that without the CH I have no business, well a very limited business to the non-ch. I think the two of us, BE and CH are a symbiotic relationship, without CH there is no BE and without BE the CH would have a limited selection of pets.

Not sure if there is any point to this post except that I do sense resentment from the CH's towards the BE's. I do not pass any judgement on the resentment, if there is any, because as I stated before I have no knowledge of the CH profession.

Jakber, I'm not taking it as a flame by you, and I certainly hope you're not taking it as a flame from me, but darn it, something is just not right when one set of pets is nerfed in the name of balance, and another set is introduced that nullifies that balance.

It's one thing for a BE to be able to craft a pet that is better than the one in the wild. However, the CL of the better pet needs to reflect the fact that it's superior to the wild counterpart.

Please don't misread me on this; I'm delighted that at last the BEs are able to make some pretty awesome pets; for MCHs, in particular, some pets worthy of their skills are out there, and we have BEs to thank for them. But the thing is, BE pets that are awesome should require appropriate skill points to use out of CH; non-CHs were nerfed in their call level from CL 15 to CL 10, supposedly to prevent just anyone from being able to use a meatshield, but then BEs are able to craft CL10 critters that have more meatshield power than something that under the old system would have rated CL 30?

It's just not right, it makes no sense.

My problem here is with the developers, not the BEs.

That Cu Pa will be uncallable. It is way over powered and was probably made before the last patch.

If you try to call it it will say it is invalid.

There is an ingame way to either change the CL up to what it should be (probably 15ish) or to adjust the stats down.

CL10 BE pet should be no more than 2k HAM - 15% kinetic and less than 100 damage.
