"First off...I definitely know what I'm talking about. I've been in this game since beta and I've been a master CH for a long time as well as a Master BE. I wrote what I said from actual GAME experience. Youare so blinded by your negativity that you can't focus and to be honest, I pity you. I played for several hours today and used my pets fighting mall types of various mobs. I am well aware of the current bugs but it has not changed my playstyle. I am still able to hunt and my pets still hold aggro. I just think you're so sucked in by the negativity blinders you have on that it has affected your ability to adapt to a game. Posts like the one started here are counterporductive. They do nothing to better the game experience and actually detract from it. You've let the devs know what the issue is now let them work on fixing it. Ranting and Raving like this is not gonig to get the issue solved any faster...and yes, my signature holds true. CH is still a powerful class."
Bochuu, you are full of it. I don't believe you are a CH as you claim to be based on your ignorant post above.
First off...I definitely know what I'm talking about. I've been in this game since beta and I've been a master CH for a long time as well as a Master BE.
Well I seriously beg to differ that you know what you are talking about considering you are actually arguing with a large group of CHs that are all experiencing this same bug. You've been in since beta have you? Sure you have, so has everyone that has ever posted here! If you have been here since beta then you most definately should know the issues everyone is talking about.
I wrote what I said from actual GAME experience.
Ya and I just guessed? Duh, where do you think I got my info? Yes that is right, actual game experience.Thisbug happened to me last night AND the night before.
Youare so blinded by your negativity that you can't focus and to be honest, I pity you. I played for several hours today and used my pets fighting mall types of various mobs. I am well aware of the current bugs but it has not changed my playstyle.
Obviously you aren't because you are arguing with everyone on this post, and other posts just like it.You are trying to tell a lot of people they are wrong.

Sucked in by the negativity blinders??? What the hell is that supposed tomean? I don't blindlyagree with everything that is written in these forums. Let me put this as plainly as I can......THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I amtalking through game experience just like you so elequantly put it. I'm not trying to be offensive by the way, the term just fit.
You've let the devs know what the issue is now let them work on fixing it. Ranting and Raving like this is not gonig to get the issue solved any faster
This is the freakin problem though, they aren't doing anything about it. Instead of testing things we get a statement from TH that pets are cowards. Give me a break. If you are a CH from beta then you know all the BS that we have dealt with that just doesn't get fixed.
...and yes, my signature holds true. CH is still a powerful class.
Actually what you said is that CH is MORE powerful. That is the part I have a problem with. I would never disagree that CHs are powerful as PvE tanks but the statement that we are MORE powerful is a hard one to swallow.

We are broke, are pets are broke.
Time to get out the drugs and get some chemical perspective, that should pretty much put me into the same space as Dunderhead and Uber Nerf Devs.
OH IT'S WORKING, CH IS MORE POWERFUL, SNIFF SNORT, IS THAT A PURPLE HAZE I SEE

hmm...funny..I must have been using an exploit then when I was out hunting on Dantooine tonight with my three pets...oh yes...forgot to mention...three pets that did not run...must definitely be an exploit because obviously I'm not a CH.
What I can't believe is all the ranting and raving going on...there are bugs but the class is still playable...it is not game breaking..at least not for me anyway. I honestly am sorry to hear that some of you are experiencing issues which are limiting the way you play the game but these issues obviously aren't across the board. The funny part though is that you all would rather attack someone who was asking a question to gather more information rather than assist him in understanding what was wrong. What I find "ignorant" is how some of you think that this type of behavior is conducive into getting things done. You can doubt me...attack me...one star me if you wish. But until some of you take Vertexon's advice and offer contructive views and criticisms, then you are going have a hard time getting things accomplished. the devs have already talked about lack of bandwidth to reply to every forum while working on fixing what's broken...all we are doing now is just creating more junk for them to filter through to get to the meat of the problem.
WWJD, I doubt you very much. While I was hunting on Dant all day my pets ran every time they were dizzied, stunned, poisoned, couldn't get adequate range, and intimidated (that is the one legitimate reason they should run). My pets should not run when dizzied, the example is sping around twenty times with your forehead touching a baseball bat then try to run to first base. Impossible to run effectively. Stunned, there should be no running. Poisoned?? As an experience animal handler I can tell you the last thing you should do when poisoned is run. It goes through your system quicker. Adequate range has been a bug for a long time.
Now why don't your pets run Mr. gather data? It seem you yourself cannot completely express anything even remotely competent so the rest of us can learn from your flawless gaming experience.
My adaptation has been /tellpet attack, /tellpet follow, /rinse, /repeat. But seem to be one of the lucky few that does not have the tellpet bug.
Now you tell me how you don't have to spam that. Mr I walk on water and my stuff don't stink.

Ok...fair enough...I will tell you exactly what I do...take it for what it's worth but first let me say this. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt how strong CH is because I myself have NO COMBAT SKILLS. I have invested my skill points Mastering BE, CH plus I have points in Scout and Medic. My pets are my only weapons save for the bowcaster (which is not much of aweapon when you don't have the modifiers to help you). Tonight I hunted alone and in a group for voritors (slinking, grassland & regular).
I have two BE'd Gurrcats and a giant Spat that I use when I hunt. The first cat has strong poison/strong disease and the second cat has strong poison/blinding strike and range. I use the tellpet commands exclusively (I have not had a problem with /tellpet since mid December). My first command is to have my pets attack using special one. The first pet engages in melee range while the second cat fight from range. 10-20 seconds later I have the pets use special 2. Now I know that many of you do not think that the specials work but my pets land their specials when I command them 80% of the time. My thoughts are that the "to hit" directly affects the pets ability to land their special. The reason why I wait the 10-20 seconds is because there is some type of timer before the pet can use their special. I also embolden during the fight. I rinse and repeat until the MOB is dead. I used this technique all night and I did not have one pet get into a track meet.
Now I will say that yesterday, I had to chase a pet down but that's because the stormtrooper he was fighting took off over the hill and I had to take him out to complete my mission. This was definitely the MOB turning tail though as I witnessed it from my radar.
I'm not saying that you guys aren't experiencing bugs but I'm telling you that it's not affecting everyone the same way. I've told you what I do and it's up to you to try it and see if it works for you. I honestly hope it does so you can get back to playing and having fun because none of this does anyone any good. CH is my only means of survival out in the wild. My pats are my weapons so if they aren't functioning properly then I'm taking a dirtnap. All I can tell you is that I haven't seen the wrong side of a cloning center in weeks.
You wanted details...I gave them to you...and no...I can't walk on water, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night
/bump
Keep this thread on top so devs know they have made ch's into the laughing stock of the PvP community...
Thanks ThunderThighs!

I don't think he was being condescending. What he probably meant was that maybe your pet's Dependability and Ferocity levels are too low, and during combat when there is a roll to determine whether or not your pet will run, it loses. Many BE's totally ignore dependability, psychology, and ferocity in lieu of higher HAM. If your pet's not a BE pet, maybe the creature you found in the wild has low numbers for those things (each pet DOES have an internal set of stat numbers).
That is good information, certainly worth testing out to have a BE make a few pets with highest dependibility psychology, and ferocity and try it against the same mob as one that is running to see how much of a difference it makes.
No, this is not good information, it is complete and utter nonsense written by a hologrinder that isn't even a CH or BE. I have done that test many times and those stats mean nothing.
